today is my 1 year anniversary since debut, I released special videos today and friday for the achievement ❤🎉 this also means i've been watching your videos for a year 🔥 thanks for all the help so far on my journey 🎉
Thank you so much for the tips PLV! This is very helpful to me, I've heard it all before but hardly pay enough attention to it. The reminder is very much appreciated!
No one should care about any of this. Artists don't operate from "strategy." That's a business person using art as a product. Use "music artist" loosely.
It depends how you package your music and videos if you go for pure music based channel. The "package" is the title, thumbnail and topic. Take a look at the channels named Ambiant Cinematics or Blanks for example. Both super successful and not a "how to" type :) I just went for that style because this is what fulfill me and what I genuinely wanted to do but both work :)
Thanks for sharing this! Great tips indeed. It seems like a lot of your IG content is geared towards other music producers but what do you think could be content types if you want to find an audience to listen to your music? I feel like those would be distinct groups of people
Absolutely! Really depends who you want to attract! There are many examples like Blanks, Krimson, OBLYVN, Forrest Frank, JVKE etc... Krimson for example used Mashups. he made a bunch of short videos where he did mashups using famous songs and artists and that's how he got the interest from people and then introduced them to his original music. Hope it helps :)
Great info, but I feel literally no one has advice for songwriters/producers who (for whatever reason) won't/can't be the face of their music. I would argue this is where the real talent lies and yet such people are hidden away, while the extroverts drown us with their mediocre crap..... I'm new to your channel, but I notice you've mentioned trying to get record lables to pick up your tracks..? This seems highly unusual in today's market - is it a viable strategy? Do you have any other advice for getting one's music out there, not as an "artist"? Thx! 🙌
Hey! Actually I have talked about it in an older video in which I do give examples for people that don't feel comfortable to show their face online. I'll link it below :) If you take a look at artists like Vexento, Polar, Melon, Wulfblaze and analyze their strategy, they all "hide" behind a character they created to represent their music. But they all do a great job at having a strong visual identity and branding, using a lot of storytelling too. Regarding the labels, I didn't mean signing fully with one but just releasing one single track with one label. As they usually have a bigger network, they usually are a good way for people that don't want to spend time doing any type of promotion for their songs. Be it submitting to playlists or anything else. So this is another option for you to start getting more traction to your music. Here is the video I mentioned: - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MGVfbHWZU6Q.html Hope all this helps :)
@@musicbyplv Hey thx so much for taking the time to reply... it's funny, I just did a proof of concept on using AI backing vocals recently (decided not to for now, but wow it's promising), so your advice makes perfect sense. I worry that ppl won't relate to an AI character - I think your popularity is due to your personal vids and affable demeanour - but maybe that's the way things are going and I need to take the leap...... side note, yeah I'd love to just have a label promote my singles, but how on earth do you reach out to them and get their attention? Got a vid for that too? ;)
It is very difficult as an artist to compete with such intellectual projects like Lil Spice's "You think you are the S##t but are only a (Fa*t) Some streaming services are rolling out the red carpet for this "amazing" artist Maybe we should all just create the most foul, disgusting music ever to be heard and then we will get the streams....(sarcasm)
You are so aspiring. I'm a late blooming artist tryna learn the game . All I have ( Everything ) by Christopher is out now on major platforms. Any advise is welcomed. Thx
Out of curiosity are there a marketing advantages to wearing the same hoody for each video or is it a similar thing to how Steve Jobs was when he decided to purchase and wear the same articles of clothing to cut down on making decisions on things that that are less important and could be automated?
Both! For now it's definitely more for branding purposes and purely the fact that I batch record my videos. Then it's also marketing in a way as I'm planning to release hoodies as merchandise later ;)
