The R32, 33, and 35 are all great investments. But tbh, if you want a good car with a cheaper out the gate price just to drive. I vote E36 or E46 M3s... If you're able/willing to pay the upkeep because bimmer
overrated joke. It's not hard to "feel that" when even us in our 30s it is older than. (you know.. 99.9% of people who would be using the internet to watch media in the first place)
I asked my dad about JDM cars, he said that they're expensive to maintain. I'm guessing because of all the modifications and putting them back if you break them. I like JDM vehicles though, people make them look so nice :)
ANY car can be costly to maintain. You can jump from one dumpster fire of a cash car to the next, lease, or buy and maintain and believe it or not end up spending roughly the same $$$ no matter what.
i own a r32 and most parts are decent priced compared and even on amazon. just dont hit a curb and need any heavy suspension arms and your good. alot of 240sx and 300zx parts are compatible for oem. just dont buy a rx7 no more unless you wanna live in it.
I bought my 89 GTR R-32 in Sept of 2015 and it has been a great car to own. Sure I have had to change the oil and bleed the brakes and change out the tires but it is a great car to own. Having lived in Japan for 6 years while active duty, having a right side drive again is just plain awesome and the GTR is king of the right side drives. Luckily the previous owner blew the BNR32 RB26DETT motor (ok not lucky for him) and it has a fresh BNR33 RB26DETT and its newer turbos and upgraded oil pump... all with under 30k miles on it with limited mods. Parts are not hard to find but you may have to be patient waiting for them to ship... especially right now given the ongoing global issue. All in all, scoop them up if you can find them!
@Adrian Deleon, I will too. However in 2025 the r34 is going to become legal and demand will shift to that, and r32 values may decrease during 2025-2030 hopefully. My dream car is an r32 and I hope that happens
USA Based R32 GTR owner here. If your looking for insurance try USAA if you or a relative are a veteran. Cheap rates and the best service. If you need a loan to buy it look at Lightstream.
@@astletruscott6291 But JDM car culture is very prevalent in American car culture, among enthusiasts like those who watch this channel. French hot hatches... Not so much haha... 😅 Although I’m sure there’s some very cool ones. And as a hot hatch owner, I’d personally be interested. Just doubt it would really be a hit, that’s all.
Bruh in New Zealand you will be lucky to find any Japanese classic, r32's go for 100k here and any variation of sx is 30k up and Miatas are 20k up for one that is in good condition and keep in mind this is in NZD so you guys in US have almost anything cheaper but usually you can get a better price if you give them a packet of Raro (only New Zealanders would know)
I have a 1994 R32 GTR V-Spec II on my radar, shipped to AUS will be around the 45k USD mark - And will throw another 30k into it over the next few years to build it up to a street weapon. Expensive but it will definitely appreciate so much in the coming years. Just the thought of having one finally sitting in my garage is amazing
That classic gray colors on the r32 is beautiful. GOD, I could just pour over every little detail on this car, what a BEAUTY. I’m not even old enough to drive, though, sheesh, the things I’d do to sit in one of these subtle beauties.
I own a nissan skyline GTR BNR32, so I'll talk about it a bit. Oh and feel free to ask any other questions you have. Unless you have a 6 digit income, I don't recommend buying one. That oil problem with the r32's isn't a problem with the oil pump, but with the crankshaft. All these cars should have their crankshafts replaced with the N1($700 without the labor of pulling the engine), the HICAS system should be completely removed ($200 for the hicas delete bars, $500 for the power steering unit replacement), the transmission sucks, 3rd gear is fragile like glass over 370hp (6 speed replacement costs $8k, gearset replacement costs $4k), the ECU should be replaced immediately upon import(~$1000) and that's if you're lucky and don't need to repair anything. The fuel relay has a variable 7-12 volt relay, you'll want to change that and find a constant 12 volt ignition source. Oh by the way, if you don't do any of these mods, either the car will be unbearable to drive, or you'll blow the engine.
This guy is so much better than the other guy, I just can't stand the other guy how he talks for some reason I can't stand it. Glad to have a normal speaking person and not over exaggerating every line. Good stuff, Skyline's are going up in value fast! Especialy R33 and R34 (awaiting USA 25 year import rule) upcoming in the next couple years.
thank you so much for not talking about the R33 and keeping in underrated. please don't love this car so I can afford my dream car at a young age. ah the R33, an awesome car that doesn't attract attention, I'm coming for you baby!
Great video but a 2 important corrections 1. 93 and 94 year R32 GTRs have RB26s with a redesigned "long nose" crank and are less susceptible to oil issues and are more desirable 2. RB26 do not have forged pistons from the factor and generally speaking anything about 450wheel horsepower in stock form you're playing with fire
Ohohoooo.... If I got an R32 GTR, I would never ever sell it. *Never!* In my country, the R32 GTR is worth around RM230k++ (which is around $55k in today's money) and for the R32 GTR V Spec Nür is around RM333k (which is around $80k in today's money) and it's very *VERY RARE* to find at least one here
There were only 50,000 R32 gtr made. Considering probably half those were wrecked. And 2/3 are over seas. That means there is only about 8,000 on the market in North America. And that is being GENEROUS! These will sell for 100k within 15 years. I have one I got for 15k a few years back. It has been called the “cleanest” gtr in the USA. Zero rust. Interior looks new. I am excited to see where this market goes!
It's a little more complicated than that. Importing them to North America has caused demand to go way up, and Canada is mass importing every GTR generation with their less restrictive import laws, so it's very much causing pricing to go up pretty consistently.
I'm glad I found mine when I did 92 KL0 Spark Silver Metallic, pretty much stock but being in Michigan its stuck in the garage at least six month out of the year.
I mean if you can get one you can probably sell it for the same price you got it for but I would look in Canada for some and I’ve found a few that sold for between 15k-20k but I mean you could just get a gtst which is basically the as the gtr but without the attesa awd and it has the rb25 but i mean people do rb26 swaps on them and you could probably figure a way to add a attesa awd to it
This is probably going to be a bit long, brace yourselves and I apologize in advance for bad English. Ok, where do I start... I am turning 15 in two weeks, I am a male from Germany and I wanted to ask for some advice. My dream car is and will always be the Nissan Skyline R32 GTR. I have always had a passion for cars, and this is my absolute dream in life. Since I was 7 years old and drove in the passenger seat of one I felt mesmerized, like no other car I have ever driven in. The sound, the looks, the performance it's just... Perfect! I know I will get one someday, whatever it takes. It's a thing that keeps me motivated in school. So, what can I do to increase my chances of being the proud owner of one? What can I do now, and what should I do when I am older? How much will one cost me? When should I even buy one? In my twenties, thirties? I have no idea what career I want to pursue later in life. I know I am young, but I have a gut feeling that this will always be a thing I want and will not regret. Thank you to whoever reads this, wish me luck for whatever comes next in life!
Bought my all stock r32 year and a half ago for 24k! They have already skyrocketed in price. I leave back to the states next year with my baby and I’m so hyped to get back.
ive been asked from the same person, is that german, did you make that, is that a corvette...other people i just say its a mail delivery car and they are like oh that makes sense.
Getting an R32 today (: GTS-T but I’ll take it, will just be cheaper for daily driving anyway. Never ever thought I’d own one of these cars, especially not at 23
Sorry but none of the factory GTR,s had forged pistons excluding the R34 GTR Z Tune, the Group A GTR 32,s had forged pistons, the bottom end was stock, there great performance cars and very reliable if you drive it sensibly, take care.
*In America. In Australia, the R32 will still set you back under 100K (Or around 50,000 in US). the prices of R32 are mostly still well under 100 thousand. Its the R34 thats going up in prices here. I've seen ones for sale from a 140K V-Spec 2 to a 340K Nür spec
mann i had one of these when i was 18 as a DD it was a bit much but at least it was cheap to and easy maintain and because i live in Australia parts are easy to find funny enough when i looked up the VIN ages ago after finding my old rego papers i found it was for sale in the States for more than 4 times what i had paid for it, mannnnn.
Grundy is more cost-effective for more or less the same insurance as Hagerty. Hagerty wants you to jump through tons of hoops and DON"T put CF, install racing seats, and a few other things because they will immediately assume you are a bad boy racer and jack up the policy ALLLLLOT.
Looking for a near stock 4 door gtst and I got a guy heading to Japan in like a year so he can find a jzx 100 and source me a gtst and have it imported
I’m seeing comments on here that are 32s or 40k 50k- $60,000 I don’t understand unless we’re not talking about the states! I can find are three twos all day long for $8-$20,000? But that’s USDA
here's the problem... decent examples are going for $40k+ now and it's not actually even rare. it's 'rare' here because it wasn't marketed to us.. now that these can start showing up anytime under the 25 yr rule, each one already here becomes less and less special, ergo - their value will drop.. give it time, you'll see. in the end, it's still a 90's japanese car with parts bin plastic interior, typical 90's japanese car fit and finish and probably rust in places you can't see.. i was strongly considering an R32 for a min, then i came to my senses.
14 yo me: i want one 14yo me: does a lot of research on one 14 yo me: realizes he not old enough yet but still makes this comment when im old enough its prolly too late
This is my dream car and I want to get it but by the time I get old enough to buy a car I knew it would be more expensive 😥😔 it been my dream car for 3 years
