YOU should BUY a Switch in 2023 | Ignore the Rumors 

I think Nintendo recently mentioned on a financial call that there's no plans to announce anything related to any new hardware until early 2024 the earliest. I bought a switch like 2 or 3 months ago, and I've literally been playing it nonstop. Never too late to jump in

Another potential reason to hold out is a price cut, given that Nintendo recently talked about the Switch hitting market saturation that's one trick they have up their sleeve I could see them pulling this holiday season to try and pull in the remaining people who are interested in the Switch but don't feel the price is worth it

Got me a light in February. Enjoyed it a lot. Just recently got the mario pick one bundle so I can play on a TV screen with friends whenever the mood strikes me. The Switch is well worth getting this year.

Well, i was in same situation. But then there was good deal on OLED (in my currency equivalent of $300) and I got it. Im having blast. I play smashbros, Breath of Wild, Metroid Dread and few other games and I love them. Even if new Switch comes out in few months, it won’t change the fact, that I’ll have lots of fun with current version and its games. Before I finish both Zeldas and whole Xenoblade series it will be months. So why would I deprive myself of that fun.

Buying a Switch Lite after work tonight. Been using my GFs Switch for a week now, and I need it in my life. Beyond impressed with how the Switch operates in 2023. Doesn't feel outdated

Nintendo, just make the next Switch more powerful, please don’t try and reinvent the wheel. Backwards compatibility is a damn-near must. Allow everyone who has TOTK to upgrade via a patch to some kind of “enhanced edition” for free. That alone would sell the system. If they feel the need to change things up, maybe have an enhanced dock, don’t do anything too crazy.

the performance bump i wouldn't mind seeing on the switch was a dock which would function as an external GPU, with DLSS capabilities to help the switch bump resolution and framerate. because in portable mode, 720p is just fine, our eyes don't need more resolution in a screen that size. And even if Nintendo release new hardware, i believe that the original switch will live on alongside this new hardware, in the form of the switch Lite.

Just got the Switch OLED Zelda special edition and I gotta say it’s meh, like yeah it’s okay but it doesn’t blow my mind whatsoever. Also pretty weak it doesn’t come with a Zelda game. How often do you see special edition consoles not come with the special edition game.

I love my original Switch. Zelda TOTK works as perfectly as BOTW. It seems like the only people obsessed with a new switch are youtubers with 100+ switch games they probably haven't even opened who are craving unboxing and reaction content day 1 launch coverage etc. Ugh... back to Zelda. 😅😅

Dev kits don't just go out 6 months before a console launches, people think were still on snes or something.

My Switch Lite History 10-3-2022 Bought a turquoise for $90. 5-3-2023 Sold for $110. 7-6-2023 Bought a coral for $70. 7-8-2023 Sold for $120. 7-8-2023 Bought another turquoise for $100. All three were bought from OfferUp. Third time is definitely the charm. The only reason I sold my first one was the left analog stick no longer could turn right after 7 months. Then I sold the coral (pink) one after only 2 days because I didn't like the color and wanted turquoise back. I only got the coral because the seller was willing to accept my $70 offer. I net profited $70 on my two previous Lites. So I really only spent $30 on my third Lite. All three looked brand new but this current one I have definitely feels the most new. Has this anti-glare, smudge-resistant screen protector that makes the display look clear all the time. Get Switch Lites on OfferUp if you're living in America. They go for $100 or less a lot. Prices will eventually go up. The 3DS is weaker hardware and goes for $150-$200 minimum. Same with the Vita. But I don't plan to ever sell my current Lite. I can't stand the weight and width of the regular Switch and OLED. And I don't own a TV any way. I haven't gamed on a TV since 2019 with my PS4 slim. Now to prevent having my sticks wearing out fast like my first one, I pair my SN30 Pro and will try to do that at least 90% of the time. If the analog sticks do break, I'll get them replaced with hall effect sensors. The GuliKit ones go for $25 from Amazon. I'll be more cautious this time knowing drift is a widespread problem. But I may get so used to using the SN30 Pro for the Lite, it may not matter any more. Still waiting for my case which can create a kickstand so I can play Switch Lite in tabletop. I was worried with input lag but my SN30 Pro which I bought 2 years ago that looks like the SNES controller (same colors) works like a dream and I get rumble which the Lite can't do. Stupid me. I didn't know how to pair my Bluetooth controller to my Switch Lite until last night! I could've prevented having the first one go out like that. Lesson learned. This now makes me open to the idea of getting a Steam Deck mainly because I'll likely play it with a BT controller most of the time and won't mind the large size. I can do the same for the Switch OLED which offers longer battery life but I just prefer the rounded sides of the Lite. The regular and OLED are slightly more angular. And what if the SN30 Pro battery needs to charge or I lose it? I'd rather use the Lite over the OLED. It's 150g lighter. Paying $100 or less for the Lite instead of double to triple for the OLED is beneficial. I don't get why people diss the Lite so much? It's my absolute favorite form factor of the Switch and it's also the cheapest entry into the Switch library. It's like the iPhone SE and mini of the Switch. I also own a modded PS Vita 2K for over 6 years and I love it. I love it more than my Switch Lite. It's my favorite handheld ever. I'm more of a PlayStation guy than Nintendo guy. Just added the nude patch for Dead Or Alive Xtreme 3: Venus and I'm having a blast! It's a great lesbian dating sim! 😂 I'll be getting a Steam Deck but I'll wait if I can find the 64 GB one for $200 on OfferUp. Maybe $250 will be the max I'll spend on it. My Vita 2K and Switch Lite were bought second-hand and I want to spend as little as possible on anything gaming-related. I'm talking over half the retail price for them. I'll buy most smartphones brand new, but with handhelds, I don't mind used as long as the condition is fantastic. And you can find a lot in pristine condition since most of these OfferUp sellers are in their 30s and 40s and no longer have time to game. Or perhaps their children don't use them any more. They're just video games! Why spend a fortune? Some get hacked and you don't have to spend another cent for a game. My Vita was used and I got it for $100 off Craigslist. Battery health is still over 90% after 6 years. Although I didn't really use it much. I've been using it a lot more this year since modding it last January. The ROG Ally with Z1 Extreme is much more powerful than the Steam Deck but I frankly hate Asus and Windows. I've only had bad experiences with Asus products. Seeing only 30 fps doesn't bother me at all. Switch is already considered weak ass with an SoC from 2015 and I'm still loving the graphics like the AC4: Black Flag port. I'm not into Chinese retro handhelds. I recently bought the Data Frog SF2000 for $20 and the damn thing stopped working after 30 minutes of gameplay. Junk! Did get a refund. My smartphones and modded Vita can cover retro games. I'll stick to reliable and reputable companies like Sony, Nintendo, and Valve.

Hell I bought one last week. Switch oled. Love it. I’ve always said that a Nintendos console is basically a player for Mario and Zelda. It’s the only console that sells just because of those two titles. They should just make the hardware tailored to the game

I'm a very new Zelda fan and I bought the TOTK OLED Switch a month ago and I have loved it so much since I had to retire my OG Switch due to a lot of hardware issues I didn't have the money or experience to fix which I poured hundreds to even thousands of hours into I'm honestly hoping that the next console comes out later so I can enjoy my games on my new Switch for about a year or two

New hardware will be around in late 2024 in my opinion. People get far to upset about the switch being more limited than the ps5. I think nintendo has another batch of games to get out before another console

Gen X'er, grew up with a NES as my first real console and a C64 as gaming PC. My kid got a Switch in 2019 for Christmas from a relative just to play Minecraft and that the only thing the console did for a good year. I never touched it because it was a toy to me and I had a gaming PC. I started playing Mario and Kirby games and then it was like an "memberberries avalanche....pretty soon I was on to BoTW and ...was I surprised. Now with ToTK....if you have to buy the console for one game, this should be it. I know two friends, that have a Switch for just BoTW and TotK.....THAT"S it....these are PC gaming/Steam guys. It's that good.

My personal opinion is that some of the games like Marvel Midnight Suns are not coming to the console is one of reason why I considering selling my console. With a minor exception to Pokemon most of the games I want to play are on Steam or the PS5/4 and X Box. Personally I think it's a better deal to buy a PC or the Handheld Steam console than getting the Nintendo brand. Now that Baldur Gate 3 is highly unlikely to be in a Handheld device because system requirements are demanding. Nintendo needs to make the system compatible with certain games. The main problem with Pokemon is that it's two hand holding and making it too easy to complete the game. I have issues with Pokemon but that has to do gimmick to change up the story. Also the features in DS games were free and now have to pay for subscriptions.

I would bet that a new system from Nintendo is announced in spring or summer of 2024, and released in fall 2024. That said, I bought a Switch oled for the first time a few weeks ago and im loving some of the exclusive titles. While I am not a fan of the formula of the new Zelda's have taken, Mario Maker, Bayonetta 2, Metroid, and Hyrule Warriors have kept me busy.

Those Switch games aren't going anywhere. I'd still wait personally. Even if to collect just Switch carts aside, but definitely wait to see if there is a price slash on current hardware or see if new successor is backwards compatible. For now, I'll play ony Steam deck until Nintendo make tgeir next move, either through price drops or next gen unveiling.

I bought a switch oled zelda Tears of the kingdom today its showing its age now CPU/GPU eise but its a really fun game which is often the narrative for nintendo exclusives the new marios seem like fun too the RPG and Wonder. I hope this system lasts until fall 2024 maybe a pre christmas release next year woulf be great, at least id get a year out of this.

While I agree that the Switch is still very fun, Switch sales are really slowing down right now. I think the special edition OLED's are a way to get rid of stock. I think we can expect to see an announced console this August at Gamescon, and a launch date next May with Super Mario Odyssey 2 and a power bumped TOTK. It just makes sense.

Even if i agree with most of what you said ! i have to disagree on the "performance" bit. Prior to the Wii, Nintendo hardware were powerful and quite unmatched. Now, what i'd love them to do is to bring back some iconic franchises such as Castlevania, Contra, Metal gear solid, Starfox. Please !

Ive had mine for a few days its great, but i hate the feeling of the joycon. the analog stick is painful to feel, buttons good, triggers could be better. I don’t know how its been this long and theres never been a nintendo “adult” joycon, little bigger, and a complete different stick, I haven’t had drift, but I have a ps4 also known for drift and would take a stick like that in a heart beat.

Since no new Nintendo hardware is coming out until summer 2024 at the absolute earliest, I have to buy another switch. The OLED model does have significantly better build than the chintzy feeling base model, heres to hoping the battery doesn’t straight up fucking die after 2 months. Also the runors are leading in the direction of the next spec upgrade switch to be a dock only unit which is not what im interested in even though the performance would allow 1440p 30fps OR 1080p 60fps.

I don’t have a switch and I’m wondering if I should get the Mario kart bundle and buy smash bros(want both games for solo and play with friends) or pick up the oled bundle (super smash bros bundle) and get Mario kart and pay more?

i got a switch oled accouple days ago and i am not impressed i mainly wanted it to play Mario cart and super smash but after using it for a day or 2 i always put it down after less than a hour of playing not a fan of the joycons the screen looks alright but not great for something that cost close to $400 its still 720p and coming from a pc it looks pixeled and grainy the input lag and loading times are pretty crazy and i know my internet is not a problem if you care for Zelda and all the Nintendo titles and having something portable then yeah it will prob be worth it for you but for now i will be returning it

The Mario pick one Switch is a great deal. I picked Mario kart then tears of the kingdom came out a week later. I’ve also picked up Luigi’s mansion 3 animals crossing (for my girl) & Mario odyssey. We’re loving every second of this console.

I still think people shouldn’t get a switch in 2023. It has incredibly weak hardware and struggles to run modern games. Get a steam deck or a ROG Ally instead. You can emulate switch games sometimes at a better frame rate than the switch and most modern games run pretty decently on them

Bro this console is very overrated , i mean i can understand people who love Mario games would put 300 bucks for it but for people who get this console to play fortnight or any other games than Mario games , they are just waisting money , the xbox series s for the same price gives you a huge quality gaming interm of graphics and fps compared to the switch. So i think that the switch is a pure marketing product and i think that people love it because either they love mario games or they got a nintendo in their childhood and they feel nostalgic. I mean.
