I would say that a great shooter is someone who is not only really good at basic catch and shoot shots, but also very adaptable to any types of shots and situations. They can change their technique based on the situation to be successful, and can make the most awkward shots work.

Love that! Thanks for the comment, I agree!

Duncan Robinson absolutely does those things, the film will back that up. I’ve watched him a lot, he makes tough shots, just not necessarily the iso shots those other guys shoot.

@@demarcus612 I didn't say that he takes the same shots as them. Here's what the original comment said: "I would say that a great shooter is someone who is not only really good at basic catch and shoot shots, but also very adaptable to any types of shots and situations. They can change their technique based on the situation to be successful, and can make the most awkward shots work." He absolutely does this from a catch and shoot and one dribble perspective. He can make shots in a variety of different circumstances: good passes, bad passes, standstill, relocation, crazy momentum to the side or backwards, with normal footwork and bad/awkward footwork. DHO's straight off the catch or off of a dribble with a defender fouling him as he has to turn in the air. He is able to adapt his shot based on the situation in order to make shots. This is called variability and is a foundational characteristic of highly skilled people. That is what the original comment said, which is 100% correct and Duncan Robinson is great example.

The midrange is also important when attacking off closeouts. If the lane is congested and I can't get all the way to the hoop and one or two dribble pull up is an easy uncontested shot when your defender closes out and you just blow by and take the open shot. It's one of my favorite shots to take because the big rarely comes out to contest and your defender is already behind you.

I feel like an elite shooter is a shooter who can make any type of shot off the dribble, catch and shoot, and in transition. Like an example, Steph curry does this at an elite level. I would say he is a diverse shooter because he can make any type of shot

the least valuable shots in basketball is the only skills that I mastered 😔 I don't shoot mid-range as a counter, I just shoot it when I want to score 🤷🏾‍♂️ It's literally my first option Prob cause I can't shoot 3's consistently 💀
@VisionDrivenBasketball
@VisionDrivenBasketball Год назад
If you can make midrange shots then you probably have solid enough form already, so now just focus your workout time on making threes and eventually you’ll be able to hit them at a high level!

I was like you back last year. If you want to move on to the three lower your set point (The spot you release from), this'll increase your range alot then find which set point is good for the three and rep it out, then once you are good at catch and shoot move onto the dribble shots where you float dribble three, setback into it e.t.c
