The genre has become a bit of a mixed bag in these Post Pandemic times. So I couldn’t agree more. And lucky me I discovered these movies a little while before COVID hit. You’ve Got Mail and Sleepless in Seattle I mean
The most heartbreaking scene was the closing of the bookstore in this movie. Brilliant writing and direction. Why can’t they make movies like these anymore? ❤️❤️
There was many but when she got stood up in the cafe for their first date but then Tom sat down to gaude her about it and she was balling.....not cool Tom!
I love this movie and most movies of the 80s and 90s in general, it reminds me of a happier, optimistic and more innocent time in my life and in the US in general. Things went downhill from 2001 onward.
Right! During one of the last government created crises in which they stole our civil liberty. The 80s were great because we didn't have so many people fearful about so many things... now the elites can just pick from a whole basket of fears in order to exploit us... Sorry for the reaction... I'm here watching movies from a better time in order to forget the present ridiculous time of lockdown... But you're right... 2001 was a big one... big shift... we all got scared... and too many believed the official story... which gave them free reign to do whatever they wanted while also keeping up the hype and the fear mongering It's better to live free with a chance of dying than to live a slow death in lockdown while trusting political elites to deliver safety
@@nadiashireensiddiqi Fox Books is Barnes & Noble, still desperately trying to peddle that Nook reader. But hey, great place to sit down and read if you can find one. Meanwhile, Meg Ryan's store is something that doesn't exist anymore.
@@nadiashireensiddiqi Actually, Fox Books is more like Barnes & Noble (or Borders) - now we just hope they can survive against the real faceless omnipresent discount bookseller: Amazon.
@Keynesian Economics entertainment has as much history as man has. So it is an important part of our life and needs to be respected like other fields of work
One of our favorite movies of all time! Living and working in New York City for 14 years now made us appreciate the movie even more...the beat of New York...nothing quite like it!
As someone from Brooklyn New York.......I would not exactly call it.......... "living" in Manhattan is a high tax lets give illegals free 4 star hotel rooms and lets give no bail to every criminal, crap hole.
Sept. 2 2024 i still watching these movie , lovely ,nice , sweet and great movie ,i like the chemistry of meg and toms thanks , you' be got mail , sleepless in shuttle , i watch it many many times, the best movie ever😊❤❤❤
There are so many parts of this scene I love! When Kathleen tilts her head after saying her name, “how do you sleep at night?”, “Joe Fox, F-O-X!”, “that cavier is a garnish!”, the Godfather references….love it, love it, love it!
Since they did their first movie together the chemistry is unbelievable. I love these two working together. I seem them if I live that long to make further movies together as they get older.
I was just watching this movie today. My 3rd time actually. I can’t choose between Sleepless in Seattle or You’ve Got Mail. And yet seeing Tom & Meg in this scene makes me think how tough it is these days to find a nice fluffy romcom. And I’m not just talking about the two leads star billing. It’s not the only essential ingredient. This movie is as sweet as pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving.
I'm in my 40s, and I keep thinking of 1998 and this movie as not that long ago, because I remember everything so vividly. But watching this movie now, 24 years later, it does seem dated. Not in a bad way mind you, but you can tell it's very late 90s.
He's fabulous in this movie, but mostly because of incredibly great lines from Nora like "A hot dog is singing! Do you need silence while a hot dog is singing?"
Yes but you see she went o his plate and took half of it!..with out knowing she took over his space uninvited! provoked and welcomed coz he didn't took back what she took from him! And that's the beauty of the scene !that's beauty of their relationship!..he made her take what she wants and he un knowingly love it..at least at first!...
Хороший, добрый фильм о любви, отношениях, обстановке и жизни большого города Нью-Йорка. То время замечаю уже воспринимаю с некоторой долей ностальгии.
I like Tom Hanks movies You've Got Mail is one of my best favorite movies I like it how people read books that's better than watching TV if I was in the book business I wouldn't just be selling books to people I would be making audio books for blind people and it's always good to make audios for the Blind and help people who can't see and that's what I like to do with books make an audio books
"it's just before the horse's head ends up in the bed with all the blood in sheets you know wakes up and it's ah, Ahh!, AHH!, AHH!, AH!, ah." from The Godfather 🐴🛌🩸
Continuity gaff. Joe Fox had scooped up most of the caviar then after Kathleen chides him for doing so, he scoops up the caviar again as if the plate hasn't been touched prior!
