I’ll advise you not to start with Geras. You’ll be in for a world of pain. Unless you’re an OG player. He’s got a lot of tools but can be pseudo weak up close. His best up close move is the 11 frames mid which doesn’t have the greatest range. His long ranging mid is 16 frames, enough time to get stand 1 out of. His command grab is high which only ticks out of 2 strings and pokes. His sands of time is like 60 frames start up with the same recovery. Essentially they did my mk11 main dirty in this game. He’s bottom 5, but is not useless. I just don’t think he’s for beginners. Finally just came back to learn him this season after playing half the cast and making at least god rank each season and he still annoys me. You’ll struggle against any character with a long range stand 2 and good players will down 3 or 4 you in range 2 endlessly. Anyway, just some thoughts

Now his damage is nice. 500 easy with Motaro or Lao or Jax, and a great 1.5 bar breaker. (I say 1.5 because most times you’ll use 1 bar to get the sands and 1 bar to break), but if you get free sands it’s 1 bar. His best tool which is the stopped time move is 2 bars which is annoying, but it has 2 almost unblockable setups which people get mad at me for doing lol. Anyway get good at the game and come back to learn him so you don’t get frustrated. Even tweedy dropped him when the game started and he was the Geras OG from mk11.

What sort of setups and combos have you found?

It does but the bubble itself doesn't stay on screen for long and pops before it travels the full distance.

Looked like the bubble burst when it hits the shield but that makes sense

@@travinator043 Yeah the bubble actually hits twice, one all round and one in the center. When the the outer part touches anything it pops, even a downed opponent but the inner one can still hit you if you stand up into it. It's a weird move.

Fr most 2 bar specials are worth it

People who think it’s amazing have never played geras though. The f121+2 is a death sentence. It’s got a gap in every bit and it’s flawless blockable, overhead and low sweeps are unsafe, meterbirned back forward 3 is able to be poked out of on reaction, motaro is jabable on read, hourglass snap is reactable and punishable. I love geras but he’s not top tier. He’s honestly probably bottom 4. I think he can easily be top tier with a few buffs but to say he’s top tier is a damn lie
