The janky entrance definitely throws a lot of riders off.

Thanks for the great video. Just hit this roll today for the first time. A bit wet and muddy (especially on the entrance in the roots) but everything went perfect. Thanks again.

I'm going to practice that roll down lunge next time I ride that👍👍

The best thing to do is practice and master the technique on a smaller obstacle and once you have the timing figured out and can be successful back to back, then increase the size of the obstacle. There are a number of smaller rocks and edges like this on Leave of Absence that work great for this.

I bailed hard on the final rock slab on Ditch Pitch a few weeks ago. I came into it blind and took an awful line. It was bad. These videos are awesome.

How can you tell when to push the bike forward? I find myself setting up okay but pushes the bike too early. Also, I find it tricky re-centering myself on the bike at the bottom because: a. My timing is bad (probably because I am tense); b. I am not sure if I need to pull myself forward. I love the quality of your vid! I just hit the 👍 and subbed on this channel

You want to lunge the bike when you can get the front wheel to it's lowest extent. People with longer arms can lunge the bike further so the timing is different for everyone. For longer moves like this where you can't get the front wheel all the way to the bottom during the lunge, you want to lunge as the wheel crosses over the crest of the edge. If you do it too early, you will feel as though you are hanging off the back of the bike as it rolls over the edge and you might feel like you get tossed forward as the rear wheel goes over the edge. The idea is to be *ACTIVE* about the bike control, versus being passive. Hope this helps.

Not taking any advice from a dude wearing half helmet. They all say it's safe until they goto ER with a broken face/jaw.
