Juan Gabriel wrote this song for her. It describes their love and friendship. How they met and how much they love and appreciate each other.

HE was the writer of all the songs, he wrote thousands of songs for a lot of singers, he's the greatest songwriter of the history of Mexico. Period!!

As far as I know, most if not all the songs that Rocio ( RIP) sang were Juan’s. Now, a little of Rocio’s background: She was a child prodigy from Spain. During her childhood and adolescence, she filmed many movies in Spain and sang in them, kind of like Shirley Temple’s movies. Rocio grew up and fell into oblivion. She was much older than Juan Gabriel. Some how destiny brought them together . Rocio’s voice was the perfect match for Juan’s songs. Thanks to this, Rocio’s career came back to life in a way that was just incredible. And the rest is history.

Yes he wrote this song, and many other songs for her which kick started her career, and made her a superstar especially in Latin America. Mexico embraced her because of Juan , and the songs he wrote for her. She ended up taking Amor Eterno all the way to the top of the charts.

And also LA REINA DE LAS RANCHERAS. Thank you for your kind words to me…., to be honest, I’m in tears bc there’s something magical about Juan Gabriel and Rocio getting together pouring out their love on stage that goes through your heart and make you go back to re-live part of your life either happy or sad moments still part of your life, of course I’m talking about my life experience with these gorgeous artists. He worked with many others during his active years but ROCIO'S job has always been amazing, she sold albums with songs form other writers too so there is something special about her style too. Yes!! Relationships trump everything!! One of the best things in my life wasnt easy but it was working in the farm together with my siblings. We worked from sunrise to sundown in the fields and feeding the many animals we had; but we made it fun! My grandmother always was singing. ❤ These two beautiful voices together sound as if they are weaving a beautiful tapestry with the most vibrant of colors.....right in front of your eyes. I love Rocío Dúrcal. She is a child star. She is a singer and actress. She is known as the Queen of Rancheras; although, she is not Mexican. ROCÍO is from Spain. Rocío is well known for being a rock and roll star in the 60's. She later gravitated to Latin Pop. She was adopted by the Mexican audience, and started singing Rancheras (Mariachi music). She passed away and is no longer with us. But, she left behind her daughter (Shaila Dúrcal), that is the spitting image of her, and has a fantastic voice. Incidentally, this song is song by two other artists, that happen to be friends (Spain and Mexico), Carlos Rivera and Natalia Jimenez. They are both fabulous artist. They won't disappoint. Destiny did get them together. He loves her as an actress adored her movies. Mrs Rocio Durcal is a famous actress from Spain. She fell in love with Mexico and made a life there. Gorgeous, Talented, Women. Back in the day actors needed to know how to sing and Rocio sang like an Angel something like, Oh!!! this woman from the Movie Grease, Mrs Olivia Newton John. She was to JG like Diana Ross was to Michael Jackson. He was a HUGE Rocio's fan/friends. She was my first favorite and JG was my second favorite. I loved them both. She died first from cáncer. He was in such PAIN he couldn't bring himself to her funeral. They were THE perfect mix. Nicaragua/ Miami/ BX. She was BEAUTIFUL inside and out. She started in the fifties. He started young in the late 70's 80s. I also cried when she died. I was DEVASTATED.

If you read the lyrics of the song it’s definitely a story that describes their friendship and all you guessed (correctly) in the video. Juan Gabriel’s music came out years before I was born, but I absolutely love it and I listen to it regularly.
