For me, it’s more about the dollar sign, than the astrological sign.

Yes, I hear you. Having finances in order and a way to support oneself, where ever one plans to move is important. And as long as you believe you can get the dollars, you can create a plan and work it so that dollar sign is no longer holding your back. Best wishes.

Great video! I'm Cancer; with an Aquarius moon and Pisces rising. I can be very emotional, going from one extreme to the next. While I like security, I don't like being pinned down or told what to do. I am cautious, yet I am prone to making life decisions that cause real discomfort (like quitting my job without another one waiting). I like exploring and experiencing new things, but I'm quite cerebral and need time to process, so I move very slowly (like a crab!) Learning more about my placements has been an eye-opener because I always knew that I didn't REALLY act like a typical cancer. I am quite hopeful that I will be able to make my move abroad within the next three years. I love France and every time I've visited, I've felt myself at home. Perhaps I'll settle in Bordeaux.

For me it's more of an issue of "Who do you think you are as a single woman of color" to envision spending an extended amount of time abroad? I know many women my age who are enduring bad marriages and for some reason, it's challenging to feel I deserve to choose differently if that makes any sense...

Thanks for sharing this. This reminds me of that Marianne Williamson quote. “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?' Actually, who are you not to be?” Who are you NOT to be someone who spends an extended amount of time abroad? It's possible, you deserve it, and it feels amazing. Go for it!

Hello Patricia! I’m a Capricorn and my daughter is a Virgo. I agree that people can exhibit traits that are typical to their zodiac sign. Even though we are opposite we are also very similar in some ways. In our continued quest to move abroad we’ve been encouraging each other.

I’m a Taurus (fixed sign) so we only feel secure when we know the money is flowing. But, I have Neptune in the 9th house (travel), so I have a strong desire to explore, travel and try new things. I can get easily distracted by wanting variety versus you Capricorns who set a goal, work hard and don’t stop until you achieve it 😊

I'm a Libra. I always see stuff saying we're indecisive. I think it's that, if we're unsure, we have to weigh the options before making a final decision. But (speaking for myself), when I know what I want, there's nothing to mull over and I'm unwavering. I knew after my 2nd trip to Paris that I want to move to France. I know I can't just James Baldwin it and hop on a plane and just *be* there. There are Visas, documents, tests and whatever else. In the 15-20 years from today until I make that move, I'm working on getting my stuff together.

I am 70 and sometimes I think that my age will hold me back from learning French. I too, feel I did not get the foreign language learning gene. But I am coming anyway. I am moving to Nice and I work with all of my challenges daily. I do have some fear challenges...I will go to your page and consider exploring guidance from you. I am in awe of your tenacity. I spoke to you briefly a few weeks ago via Zoom, and for some reason I felt like you were irritated with the call. But I enjoyed meeting and speaking with you and hope to meet you in person once I arrive in October. Thanx for your post!

I think age can be such an avantage not only because of experience but it provided a strong motivation to work through fears and doubts. I wrestle with is this too big a risk and a belief that I may not want to take too big a RISK because that may not be WISE. Wonder if that will hold me back in my travel/relocation journey?

I'm reading à book called Your Move by Ramit Sethi and he talks about the invisible risk of doing nothing which could end up being the biggest risk of all. For me the risk of getting to the end of my life not having experienced what I wanted to is something that helps me feel the fear and do it anyway. Best wishes.

Thanks Patricia for your feedback, I was thinking something along a similar line recently that the regret of not taking the risks to pursue what I really want is a larger risk with more disappointing consequences.
