We moved from Ohio to Atlanta area 45 years ago. We used the bark in beds. Then we learned the problem here with termites, switched to pine straw, which took a while to appreciate. Now I prefer a mulch similar to what you use...feeds soil. I'm always evolving with my garden. Don't we all?! Love Garden Answer!! Crepe myrtle referred to as lilacs of the south. From northern Ohio, I'd grow lilcs up there. No luck here with them, but have crepe myrtles.

Well now I need to comment on your video...I never ever comment and I DO NOT have a green thumb. I live vicariously through you, and your husband does an awesome job as well. Although gardening is not for the faint of heart and takes alot of knowledge/trial and error. All in all i truly just enjoy watching your videos and selections. Please keep it up!!!❤❤❤❤

I love to be outside working in my cottage garden, but living in Western Washington, I'm at the mercy of the rain. Just so enjoy everything you do and am looking forward to the next video.

@homeandgardenwithanna. Hi Anna! We are actually behind CA this year in the amount of rain we have had. It's hard to believe, but it's true. I actually just came in from the garden. It was 52' & a little windy, chilly. I was only out for about 1 1/2 hr., but it was nice to get out. Do you have a hard time over wintering lavender?

We used to plant them in CA. But I think because they are common in industrial areas in California, I didn't think much of them. They are beautiful. Don't like the smell though! Lol. So happy you're gardening! Woot! Hi otis!

Try wooden skewers in ground.. high enough that bunny will fell..when plants get fuller & higher u won’t see the wood skewers won’t show… put in ground just high enough for the rabbit to feel it. Also Liquid Fence. ( definitely works for all critters that come from the forest, fields, near by farms. But after a rain ya need to repay. But it Works… I promise. 😀🙏🏼.

Hi Anna. This was an interesting video. I can’t believe people want to be so critical or maybe that’s how I took it. I do know most of your comments are very positive. I also love the garden answer with Laura. And I was surprised to hear that y’all did not like Lantana. I love Lantana and I’m looking for some now.I told you that I’m having to do container gardening now due to my health and my age but I did not know that I was supposed to fertilize those plants in the pots. I’ll have to look into that. Thanks again for all your great videos. Love in Christ

Walmart has deer and rabbit deterrent that is a pellet you sprinkle. We have something "new" to Tennessee, I chased an armadillo out of the yard at midnight last night LOVE everything and all of your hard work is paying off.

This is just me but don’t do the concrete curbing in the back. If you want to change your flowerbed size or shape you won’t be able to do it anymore unless you tear it out. I love a natural edge.

@@cynthiamojica7010 Sorry, it didn’t work for you. I took a nest (no eggs laid yet) out of my hanging fern yesterday and sprinkled hot pepper flakes in the fern. Afterwards I watched the bird come by about 9 times and she only came within a few inches of the fern but would not land. Also, yesterday I noticed a bird building above my porch lantern. Again, no eggs so I took it down but didn’t sprinkle any pepper seeds there. I just checked and another nest was being built! In the past squirrels were hiding nuts in my flower pots. After I sprinkled hot pepper, I never noticed another. Amazing how nature works! Hope you find something to help you! 😊

I have a ton of clay soil here in Ohio too.Last year I did the no dig and added compost on top. I was so impressed with the soil this year! The only thing I didn’t care for is the cardboard mess from it breaking down 😞
