@@darrenharriott2120Correct! She was not unhappy!😂🤣 I'm sorry😂 I had too! I think you meant to ask if she was unhappy but adding the "not" before it means that the negative indication of unhappy doesn't apply. So to answer your question. In the end she was happy. Both girls were. Thanks for the laugh though😁
It’s what I call inspiring and powerful but with no substance. Every person that ever said something similar or thought of that, who I know? Living Unhappy or Regretful life because once reality hits, poof, Too late, time don’t turn back. You wish it did and you start fantasising every single day that if you did make a different choice how it would have changed your life.
Haha right? I've always found Emma's American accent distracting. It's unfortunate because she's such a wonderful actress in all other aspects but accents are def not her forte. lol That's ok though, accents and languages different from our own can be very difficult to master. It comes very easily and naturally to some people (Meryl Streep, Gwyneth Paltrow, Christian Bale and Daniel Day-Lewis are perfect examples) while others, not so much (see Keanu Reeves, Cameron Diaz, Tom Cruise). Kevin Costner's British accent was so awful he decided to stick with his natural voice in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Christian Slater's attempt at a British accent in that movie was also abysmal. Next to those two abominations Emma Watson's attempts seem Oscar worthy. lol
"Just because my dreams are different than yours doesn't mean they're unimportant" is my favorite line in the movie. Really printed on my mind. I haven't read the book (I'll love too!), can someone please tell me if this line is really in the book?

Growing up, I read Little Women multiple times. I tried reading Little Men and Jo’s Boys and couldn’t get very far into them. Both felt so forced. I finally read through Little Men and was heartbroken when John died. Daisy and Demi were about 10 and living at Jo’s school. She had to help them go through it. Meg was all serene and philosophical about it. Bit preachy and weird. There was a baby named Josie too.
On a completely different level. My little lesbian heart breaks every time I watch this scene. I know they were sisters, but I feel like this is exactly how it feels.
It's a powerful scene until you read the book and realize how superficially this has been translated to the big screen. Louisa May Alcott was a genius.
@@evesapple a film version has to take on the difficult task of condensing and dramatizing the original, which - when read slowly over the course of weeks - makes an impression without melodramatic scenes. The sisters are far more mature and complicated than the film gives them credit. Above all, there's a kind of calm, thoughtful quality to their speech and actions.
I love how they showed two sides of what a women may want and gave her the line "just because my dreams are different than yours doesn't mean they're unimportant" because its about giving women the space to make the decisions they want to! Free of judgement!!! It reminds me of Elle Fanning speaking about how her character is fragile and she is graceful and that is okay!!!! She wanted to marry and have a family and that is okay!!!! There is beauty in both sides. Loved this scene so much. Grateful that Greta left this in and didn't have all the women have similar storylines to Jo because there is beauty in differences 🫶🏻
They’re sisters. Very close family. She’s just so attached to her and sad their childhood is ending. She worries she’s gonna lose her sis as she gets married and moves on with her own life. Great movie. This one and the 1994 version. You should watch it.
@@xWHITExEAGLEx He said “I knew it will happen. Sorry that I can’t provide you with life that you want” or something like this. And then just left the room leaving her to cry. Typical guilt trip. He tried to stop her mother from letting her go to London, where she could find husband. He knew from day one, that he can’t provide her with good life but still decided to flirt with her and propose to her. He knew that she had all chances to find good reach husband but didn’t step back. After this he doesn’t have any right to guilt trip her about money.
@@ИринаГадзала-м4я And when they got twins, he spent all evenings in the pub with his single friends, since he couldn't cope with the fact that his wife didn't have as much time for him as before, you know, taking care of 2 babies. Amy's mom even blames her for that, wtf
@@AnzuBrief In regards to the kids, I haven't seen this adaptation, but in the book he pulled back because she wouldn't let him help with the kids. She wanted to do everything and subsequently got exhausted and snappish. When she started letting him assist, things smoothed out.
I wouldn't say toxic more like he lacked the resources to provide for a family . I genuinely think he loved her. I believe he was little imature and your right he couldn't provide enough money for her and the children .I believe that shouldn't oppress his option on having a family of his own. His issue was self doubt and lack confidence in himself. Meg would've been not happy marrying someone rich ,but she'll be a good help to her family financially. He wasn't a good choice financially ,but she had chosen love over money . Therefore, He felt that she was out of his league and need to realise that she had chosen to marry him nobody else. I believe him doing his duties as father and husband and son in law that was alot stress on a man with his salary. Meg was good wife to him inspite of his shortcomings.
Emma Watson's lack of attempt at an american accent should be studied. HOW MANY TIMES ARE THEY GOING TO HIRE SOMEONE WHO CANT SOUND ANYTHING OTHER THAN ENGLISH AS AN AMERICAN?
