22 years ago I was told by a owner operator at the bar I worked at and I was 19 he told me get into trucking ... get your cdl and work work a large company for 1-2 years then leave and do your own and you will be a millionaire! I didn't go that route yet but 22 years later I'm a millionaire and plan on trucking one I retire from my current career..

I Want to say foremost thank you for inspiring me to look into the investment to try the hotshot business. Second I want to thank your father for his word on getting CDL. I Just finished up the written test for class A CDL and now I have my CDL permit. I have an appointment for the skills testing next two months. Due to covid, they are pushing back on testing. But I can tell just from your guy's videos yall keeping it real and making it look easy. I watch all of your videos and I'm just taking my time on saving money to get that first trailer, I already have the truck, using it for recreational usage . I like your discussion about prices per mile I got over 35 years of commercial classy driving tankers oversize loads flatbeds box temperature control in 20 years of that was in hazmat I’m retired but I’m a do some hot shotting as a non-CDL for a while until I relocate to my new home then I’ll work on getting my CDL back by new hot shot differently I’ve done it with an 18 wheeler and when you sit around waiting for other loads are trying to find a load to go with another one you’re wasting time and money so whatever you can find close to each other and not have to wait then you can make money keep up the good work be safe

im one month into non cdl hotshot and loving being part of the trucking community. Im just a driver and get 35% of each pick up . i dont pay for fuel or anything , Facts working on my CDL for more cash flow . Facts i need to stop running over my hours and coming home mid week lolll

Hey Bennii, Got a CDL and my own company "406 Hot Shot". I'm plated for 44,000 lbs and can haul about 20,000 lbs. You are so right. I can haul the things that the 26k dudes can't. Been doing some oversize also. Pays good but I can only haul in the daylight hours. In the winter that means 7 AM to about 4:45 PM. Short day so you have to get extra. Generally get $3.50 per mile and up. Got a couple of dispatchers that work the area West of the big muddy. I'm in Montana and the good loads go fast. I really like keeping my eyes on the road. Starting my journey of becoming hotshot driver this Tuesday. Starting off getting leased on to get a feel of it because I have minimal knowledge. Within 3 - 6 months I will I have my own authority and break off on my own, god willing. I believe in the power of manifestation + hard work n faith and anything is possible. Truth be told, I started non cdl and its a natural growth after 12 months running. No way one can keep up with non cdl the loads do not compare and the next step up is big rigs.

In less than a week, I graduate from my school with my CDL. I absolutely....absolutely can not wait to. It has been a long road.. Better yet I cant wait to leave my extremely hot warehouse job and working 12-10 hours shifts. In the end, doing what I will seriously enjoy hotshotting!!! Great material as always Bennii and Dad!!!

A class a cdl isn’t hard to get, most won’t believe me but I got mine in one day! 8am went and got my med card, 9am went to the dmv passed the written, drove two hours to a certified testing facility and did my pre trip, road test, then made it to the dmv around 4:30pm walked out with my class a. Now let me say this my family has been in trucking and excavation forever. So I knew how to drive. But you can get your class a with a restriction without air brakes. Get your cdl and they will treat you better!

I’m only 20 too but I want to get in as soon as possible I want to start saving and getting everything ready so I can hit the road. I’m working at a job I HATE and it takes a toll on your mental health honestly, but there isn’t anything I love more than that open road. So once I get into this trucking industry I’m not gone fall off believe that. If anyone knows anybody in Augusta ga or close to Charlotte Nc IM SO READY TO LEARN I will deadass quit this job today I’m ready to put my all into this trucking game. Family been in trucking for well over 75 years.. had 3rd largest crosstown in chicago... cartage and local ltl is the the way... I will tell you what I make about 625 for a 20 mile round trip.. pick up a loaded container back to whse then back to rail or a cy yard. Total time invested varies. Some are a 2hr turn and someday I sit for 6 hrs just to get a lift.. keep all that long haul crap.. and because I've been driving well before cdls came out I will tell you. You need to go directly to shippers.. why cause brokers and 3rd party might have the loads on the board for hundreds,example ch Robinson landstar hub group etc.. and you are out about 45 to 50 percent off the top.. also you want to move a container tell you what chicago rail to oh or michigan. I get about 2200 dollars. No brokers nkt working with steamship lines. Dealing with shippers direct or consignee direct.. period... keep all that other crap

I towed as the night lead driver in San Jose, Ca. and then I did another 5 years of repo in the SF Bay. I was killing it until covid shut us down. I think it's time to make my own money. The work and the road I know... I need to learn how to get the loads, insurance, and tax info.

You are right… people willing to take the $1 and $. 80 cents a mile are the ones killing the freight market. Its why brokers get away with crap they do because they take it…. They don’t negotiate loads, they just take what is posted….

I won't even start my truck for a dollar a mile I'm non CDL 6 months in the game and I'm working on my CDL because even I know The bigger payouts are on the bigger load's I will die a happy man when I get to the top! My dream job as a little kid is to be driving a semi I was and still am fascinated by them
