Dignity and self respect more important than free fresh food. I live my independence the way I adjust to it and I don't live my life on handouts. This girl is an awesome recipient for educational housing and scholarship (mum included).
Amazing a lot of good people in Vietnam! What surprised me they are not greedy. How could you refused free food. I am more and more respecting the homeless people of Vietnam. I'm happy the girl is in school. God bless both._
@@starkness65 You would think pride would leave you whilst sitting on the street side with no where to go. It was the girl who said "I won't eat that".
Troy, please keep this family together and make another bigger donation so the little girl can finish some schooling. There is a reason why you were meant to meet them...
@@KingBernie I think she is feeling a wide array of emotions but providing charity should be paramount at this point. I think it is worth noting that maybe she needs more help than what she is leading us to believe. The girl is innocent and deserve Troy's help.
I think this is the best scenario of really wanting to help someone. 1) Great coincidence 2) Everything that Troy talked about the beggar circuit and they open up their emotions like grade A actors is spot on, and he ran into Chau Anh and Mom who are the complete opposite of those people. They aren't looking for easy handouts and they don't open up with emotions like others so easily because they don't beg and would hurt their pride. This is as realistic reaction to me as it gets because that is how I would react if I was in their shoes. I don't want others pity. I would be weary of Troy kuz he's still a stranger. They are it, they are who I support and donate and want to have a positive impact in their lives and that's all possible because of the Legend Troy Vietnam.
To meet totally random like that . I would read into it that you were meant to cross paths with them again. You will probably see them again. I hope she accepts your generosity.
I think pride is the main reason why she refused the food maybe in the north pride is stronger as sometimes shame must not be shown , as they might see it as a sign of weakness
When Homeless people in Vietnam don't feel the need to except free food but when you're an American: "Trust me you're not that kinda guy pal. You're not that kinda guy."
What she wearing is a school uniform. All public school in vn has their uniform with tag on left arm and white shirt. It's required to wear everyday and cheap to affort. She may wear it all the time to save money on clothes. Fyi.

Yeah, here in mexico they also have to wear school uniform and some kids wear it all day and they look dirty. There is even a meme about kids sleeping in uniform to save time in the morning but they pee their pants lol
@97RAVINEAVE this's not dead area it's busy capital and she's on the way to school in near by town. It could be summer time or covid break that the kid was off with mom to her work and they are coming back to their town now. It's normal for poor kids in vn travel 10km per day to school
That guy trying to give them food should've just left the food. Even if they said they already ate, they could eat it later that night or even the next day.
he seemed like a timid fellow though. when people say "no", shy people normally go "ok" and just go with it instead of pushing back or insisting they take it as to not be offensive.
I am not sure if she really sends her kid to school, or the kid is told to tell that story. It seems to me that the mother is a little confused in the head and roams the country with her kid for no rational reason. If the kid is really having classes, or as she said some kind of cram school or catching-up classes, why do they sit on the streets at nights like this. They should have a fixed place to stay so the kid can wash, sleep and eat every night to go to school next day. I hope you really find out what's going on to help the two. I wish I was in HN right now to give you a hand. I hope I can meet you next time I am there.
What I saw here is she and her kid came from the countryside to Hanoi to examine her leg, don't want to spend money on rent so chose to stay on the street.
It's not against any policy to help people if there is a charity fund or something similar to do so. The government just don't allow you to give money directly to homeless people on streets as more and more people in Vietnam are using it as a way of earning money for free - just like a job.
they said they had dinner, so they refused it. What I saw here is she and her kid came from the countryside to Hanoi to examine her leg, don't want to spend money on rent so chose to stay on street. But on the other side, you're right, she needs to park her pride!
Hey, dude. Have you observed clearly enough? I am sure to talk to you that you have misunderstood. Most of the homeless people you met on the street are from the Central and the North. We the South rarely beg for food, money, clothes... Listen to their accent clearly because they never tell you the truth, they don't want to let others know where they come from...
You know Troy, i'm not sure weather you just don't understand proper English or your Subs for translating Suck!....or maybe it's just you and the Not understanding of what you are doing here on this Social Media Platform. A day or 2 ago you woke up an old lady sleeping on a side walk and you ended up telling her that "she didn't smell and that she didn't emit any foul odor" and on this video you basically letting us know that if you go on most major Bridges around Saigon you'll see "Countless Hordes" then right afterwards you say "A good place to Feast you eyes on Pitiful Gremlins"...WTF Dude??... you seem compassionate of what you do in helping people of all ages their in Vietnam but, you're making me wonder where you heart really is because of the way you express yourself. It's like you have a Dr. Jekyll and Hyde personality, 1 is, i see the compassion in what you do, and 2 is, i also see the Heartless Language you use at times. Not sure if you're using an APP for your translation but if that's the case, then get a better APP. I'll say it again Troy, i enjoy watching your videos and the help you have given to many their in Vietnam but your translation language SUCKS!
I’m so confused! It looks like they need help but the mother was not asking for any help. Her child! The little girl should be traumatized by now but she has better sprit and personality than some kids I know! Someone please help me! I’m confused!
it depends on the parent mostly. How the parent explains the situation to the kid and treat the kid will determine how the kid sees the world. Parents love is much more important than shelter and money.... at least to a child's mind. For all we know the mother looks very caring. You can see as she was asking the kid if she wants the food offered to her. And by her rejection you can guess that the kid is not hungry (probably well cared for). The only sure thing that would traumatize her is probably to be separated from her mother.
couldnt remember a 1 million vnd gift!! mums on drugs and kid does not go to school. turning down a meal speaks volumes true homeless would of accepted the food and if they did not eat it they would of give it to a friend. they have their scam going and thats all there is to it.
Nothing wrong with it, they said they ate already though, those food for someone really hungry, do not judge her if you do not understand vietnamese of what she said
why must she accept free food if she is not hungry and doesn't feel like accepting charity? She wasn't jumping on Troy money the last time anyway. And she was politely refusing, nothing wrong with that. You have strange opinion about being poor and whether to accept help or not. In asian culture, even if you are poor and hungry, it doesn't mean that you should take anything that is offered to you.
Cos may be they work for their fruit and not familiar with being donated. Some homeless has pride. You help ppl w your own heart not to expect gratefulness.
