As always Robtech covers everything in his review. It's not something I would remotely consider at the price point and the size, but I enjoyed seeing the specs which prove higher power draw doesn't automatically mean higher performance

I suppose that when comparing it to the ASUS ROG NUC 970 then the price looks more attractive and does a decent job. But at this price, I wonder whether more dedicated gamers would still prefer to have a more powerful and cheaper custom desktop. The M.2 Gen 5 and WiFi 7 is definitely a forward looking touch to add to the decent external I/O.

too big for a minipc. horrible design, remembers me those 2006 netpcs... those red and blue rgbs there are cringe and teenagerish....

A lot of pc products are unfortunately "teenagerish" these days. The tech industry is not above trash marketing.

It's nice, but Not using the 7900m or the new 7800m kinda makes this DOA. The CPU performance is just too high for the included low end 7600m gpu.

I am giggling because My SER7 would be giving the AtonMan some lunch money. I am stunned by the engineering and that The G7 pulls it off pretty well.

You can sh×t in it all day, I own it, put Bazzite Steam OS on it and turned it into a near silent monster of a steam machine on my TV. Eats Horizon Forbidden West in 1440p High with smooth framerates, leaves all consoles in the dust.

I own the AtomMan G7 PT as well. I like that mini PC, but I do have a few concerns. Do you find that the power supply gets hot? Also, do you find that the AtomMan G7 PT emits an odor (similar to warm or burning plastic) when in operation?

Sorry for the late answer, was busy. No, have noticed neither, power brick warmth within expectations, being lukewarm to warmish, and no smells at all.

Congratulations Robtech, really a nice comparison between 2 of the best equipped mini PCs on the market. We are waiting for Intel Lunar Lake and Amd ryzen Strix Halo, to see how much the bar will rise further. The fateful 60 fps in 4k on these machines, could be reached in just 2/3 years!

With the number of minipc's on the market, i wonder what the actual pricepoints of these things are. There must be tens of thousands of models just gathering dust that will never be sold. I see a dozen or more different brands, each with more than a dozen models for sale. Many of which are selling nearly the same machines for wildly different prices. Where are all of these components coming from?

Do you have a up to date document or spreadsheet some where online with all of benchmarks of all of the mini pcs you’ve reviewed?

There will be a website at some point once things slow down a bit.

Notice to sponsors. I am one of those cats that's doing research to buy a new system. I'm leaning toward a mini but not entirely convinced. I've built pc's so I'm not afraid of that angle. So, my point! When I go searching for info/reviews on RU-vid there are tons of reviewers, mostly shills, but I skip them all and search for Robtech's reviews. Why? They are concise, relevant, and ultimately they focus on the information that I am after. Now, a request to Robtech. I believe that every review that I've seen of yours is a review of an individual minipc. It would be good if you were to do a Top 5 or more apples-to-apples (pardon the pun) comparison of what you consider the best options. That would be very useful for a cat like me. Thanks for the great reviews..

Thank you. The last top 5 is here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RrJ6ycEOA6w.html. Original plan was every three months, but with such a large review pile it'll be just two this year. If you're looking for something specific, let me know and I can point you in the right direction.

@@Robtech Thanks Rob. I hope that new sponsors will see my post and realize that the people that they are trying to attract are the people like me, IE the consumer. IN any case I'll detail what I'm after but bear in mind than there is no urgency. Currently I am using a Dell Precision 7730. I believe the archetecture is about 3-4 Yrs old. I7-8850H processor, 32 G DDR4, Nvidia Quadpro 4200 (8 G V-Ram), 8C-16T, Win-11 Pro. What I am after: better V-Ram. I am confused by the process of how you allocate RAM to account for the lack of a dedicated graphics card but I am not absolutely resolved to have a dedicated card so that said I would like to upgrade to at least 12G V-Ram (virtual or actual). I would like to bump up to at the very least 14C-20T. At least one Thunderbolt port. Processor I9 (I just discovered Beelink's new SER9 and although it looks good it seems to be heavily focused on AI with a microphone built it to monitor you...Big eye is watching you...) So I am really apprehensive about all of this AI technology and would like to avoid it if possible. I don't need Wi-Fi at all. Noise is not an issue for me because I park the pc in a different adjacent room than where I work. Superficialities like case design I don't care about. My price wheelhouse is from free to in the close neighborhood to $2500 CAD. I am hoping that when I do settle on something that you can give me a link for purchase in Canada but at this point I am so mind-boggled with all of the options that I am likely a few Weeks-Months away from biting the bullett. Rob. Thank you so much for what you do because what you do, you do very well. Cheers.

Okay, that's a pretty specific usage case which narrows it right down. One that comes to mind that meets all those requirements (apart from being an i9) is amzn.to/4gxI3o9. The price has dropped right down from launch and the ARC drivers are miles better now.

@@Robtech very quiet machine with a good apu although iommu needs to be disabled in bios for the rear 4x usb to work on linux and m.2 cooling is a bit lame so I use a 2.5" SSD.

Ironically, at that price point, I can put a real desktop PC in the same footprint, maybe a bit thicker. It'd include a desktop RTX 4060 too. I've actually built something smaller and lighter from a UM790 and a desktop RTX 4060, at a lower price point too.... maybe I should put that machine through your benchmarks, see how it stacks up.

Was your arousal sustained or gone in 60 seconds? Minisforum seem to be pushing the boundaries of performance with every new release

It peaked at the CPU benchmarks, waned at the gaming tests and was fully gone by the time I had to expose myself on camera.

I would prefer an Nvidia solution, but the almost double price of the Asus version with Nvidia is out of touch compared to this one. Well done Minisforum. Just to clarify,, but it is possible to easily reach the CPU/GPU fan for maintenance, right? That 93C for the CPU in Cyberpunk makes me feel uneasy. Your finds don't help me not to worry either lol. I am finding it funny it is much easier to find a mini PC with a dedicated AMD mobile GPU, than an actual laptop. At least where I live. WAIT, did Killzone 2 on the PS3 ran at 60 fps originally? It never felt that fast lol. Great review, thank you for sharing.
