I love your teaching. However, I believe that women CAN preach. The Bible says...in the last days I shall pour out my spirit upon ALL flesh. Your sons and DAUGHTERS shall prophesy... When Paul instructed the women to stop their shameful behavior of DISRUPTIVE speaking in the church...was because women were thought to be ignorant and naive, and would fall for anything, because it was the women that allowed the serpent in the Garden of Eden to manipulate her into disobeying God. It was commanded that they be quiet until they had sat and learned. Women of today study to show thyselves approved moreso than men and EARN their right to preach the gospel!
We can't earn what is given to us from God. He gave us shepherds to preach and teach His Word. God decided what order He wanted in His house of prayer. Husbands are the head of their households. Pastors (male) are the shepherds of God's house. God is a God of order. We must be careful not to follow our flesh. Yes, God poured out His Spirit, however, that doesn't nullify the standard He gave us to operate in for His glory.

As someone else mentioned, you can't 'earn' something freely giving by God. The bible does say "I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy" - Prophesying and teaching (leading an assembly) are two completely different things. When Jesus said to "“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.", the word preach comes from the Greek word kerusso, it doesn't mean to lead an assembly in church as the teachers/pastors and elders do, but to proclaim, declare and announce the message. The pastoral role in church was SPECIFICALLY laid out by the Holy Spirit through the Apostle Paul in 1 Timothy 1:17, 1 Timothy 3:2-5 and many others. In Titus when speaking about the leadership role in the Church, the male reference is made each and every time. You are also half wrong regarding Paul's initial prohibition for leadership in the church to be held by the men. Yes, he didn't want chaos in the church, but it didn't have to do with ignorance, or even being not the most educated. Some of the disciples who walked with Jesus were just fishermen and non educated as well, so that wasn't a criteria. It also wasn't Paul speaking only about Ephesus, if it was so, he would have given his thought on the matter as he did when he spoke about staying single instead of marriage 1 Corinthians 7:12. There are no scriptures anywhere in the new Testament where there were female leaders in the church that had authority. There were no female apostles who followed Christ or are in the bible. Men and women are equal in the eyes of God, we are both created in His likeness and image and have equal value: we've just been assigned different roles. Paul speaks to that in Timothy were he references Adam and Eve. Paul was saying look what happened in the beginning when the roles of men and women were reversed and out of order, chaos ensued. It would be the same if the roles that were assigned in church are reversed (and you see that happening today). Are there powerful female speakers today? Absolutely, however just because you're really good at something doesn't mean to get to be out of alignment on what God created and ordained. His world, His rules. I know some men have taking advantage of that scripture about women staying silent in the church, and tried to lord over their wives. Men are not supposed to lord over their wives, Jesus does. The women is the help mate, they are equal in the eyes of God and are one flesh but have been given different roles. That is all. Scripture isn't implying that men are more superior than women. Anyone who advocates for that is dead wrong and is a lie from the enemy.

Women can preach. The gospel is to be preached by everyone. Pastoring is entirely different. And it is bc of the way God modeled the church, after the Family. Women can absolutely evangelize, teach and prophesy! People forget all about Deborah in the old testament who was a JUDGE (over MEN and women) and a Prophet! I'm sure being a Judge is a position OVER men. They forget that Mary was the first to share the news of Christ being risen. Is that not spreading the word? Does that make sense??? Paul was not against woman in ministry - his minister or pastor was a woman! Look up Romans 16:1 where Paul talks about Phoebe, using the word Diakonos (minister or servant) to describe her - the same word he used to describe male ministers Barnabas and Apollos. And in 1 Tim 2:12 - Paul was addressing a situation that was going on with some feminist Usurping authority of the men - Do you know what usurp means? It means to seize and hold (a position, office, power, etc.) BY FORCE OR WITHOUT LEGAL RIGHT! In essence, no one should usurp authority over ANYONE! Its a false context as no where in scripture does it show a female pastor, no where. Its adding to the word. Paul says "Do not go beyond what is written", because chaos ensures. men and women are both of equal value in the eyes of God, but He assigned us different roles in the church. The bible says in 1 Timothy 5:1 1 Rebuke not an elder, You are heavy handed with the words stupid and silly for someone who openly admits “ I don’t know much about him” but yet passes unfounded judgement. 1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 says 12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. Apparently you don’t know his works. If you would have done your homework you would have divinely discovered he’s more than just a preacher but a Bishop that walks in the gifts of the fivefold ministry. He and his wife of 47 years have ministered under the anointing of the Holy Ghost with integrity, sound doctrine and truth.
All those titles are irrelevant if he’s not preaching the word of God truthfully. 1 Corinthians 3:10-11, states that we should build on no other foundation but that what is already laid. God hasn’t changed, you can see that pastor need deliverance, however very soon God will separate his people
Cory, I usually agree with you but I do think you shouldnt pass judgment on someone based on a singular teaching you heard that was in error especially if you admit that you dont know much about a person. I think its fair to judge a teaching but not the person in totality. Just ge careful and stick to the scriptures and what is said vs making inferences or assumptionns about the individual. Just stick to whats said not your personal feeling about your perception of someone.
Could it possible be that she superceeded in ability and works above her husband. It did not seem to bother her husband Aquiilla. Did not God, in sending two by two give more importance to one than the other? The first named was the one with the, let me say, assignment and the other helped. ie Paul and Silas, Peter and Paul? In the history of Priscilla's ministry, history tells us of the great works that she did, in Rome, for example , Priscilla Square named in her name because of her great works for God amongst the people. More experience , ability, gifted with wisdom to do greater works? )Did they not have a church in their home. Who was more fluent in explaining to Apollos a better way ( of the Holy 11:25 Ghost)...? I think historical information is important when it comes to scriptures and why. God did say and gave us both power to DOMINATE the earth, not each other.

Sincerely, i don't think the bible intends that women cannot preach. I think that women should not take charge of a church to have men subject to them. I don't think a God who wants the ends of the earth to come to know him will say that only men can preach that gospel. Will the scripture say the labourers and few and still say women can't preach the gospel? I think the bible intended to preserve order and like the leadership of a man in the home, God still expects men to take the lead. Where i find a problem is where the lead pastor or bishop is a woman. A woman can evangelize, preach but not to lead the men in the congregation. She should yield to the authority of men in the church in godliness as well as in the home.

Women like Miriam(ex 15:20-21) Hulda(2chronicles 34:20-28), anna (Lk 2:36) even the four daughters of Philip the evangelist In acts 21. And they, bearing the word of the Lord was still some form of preaching which men also benefitted from like in the case of Hulda the prophetess. When the scriptures spoke about the distribution of spiritual gifts like in 1cor 12:1-11 were the gifts given to only men? If women received the gifts also were they supposed to never use it like the servant with one talent that didn't make profit because he didn't want gain for his master? In psalm 107:2 " let the redeemed say so" Was it referring to only redeemed men or were women not redeemed as well? In 1 Cor 11:5 "Any woman who prays or prophesies with her head unveiled brings shame upon her head, for it is one and the same thing as if she had had her head shaved. 6For if a woman does not have her head veiled, she may as well have her hair cut off." 1 Cor 14:3 "But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort" Preaching means to persuade people to believe in a particular belief and divinely inspired utterances whether through the words of the bible or divine revelation can produce that effect. I strongly believe that what the scripture is against is when the woman usurps authority in the church and neglects that God has by his divine authority and wisdom made man the leader and a woman ought not to take charge in church as the head but can be permitted to share what God has laid in her heart to declare by the constituted authority of the church. Even the scripture says in 1 Cor 14:40, that things should be done decently and in order. If Jesus won't mind raising stones to cry out his praise, he certainly won't mind women declaring him as the only saviour if it is it's done according to God's order. God bless you.

I heard his elect lady preach and she preach better than her husband. She used the scripture and she speak with clarity. I don’t know this was a woman conference I just seen the 10 minutes snippet and she spoke the words of God again with clarity.
Bishop Owens is a genuine and authentic man of God, who preaches the word in its entirety and is certainly not a popularity preacher, or someone who preaches just to have an audience or following. He’s the furthest from it. You would know if you took time to familiarize with his ministry. What you are saying about him concerning this clip is a misrepresentation of him, and the entirety of this message where you took the clip from. I’ve followed his ministry closely for 15 plus years, and can attest to his long-term commitment and faithfulness to preaching nothing but sound doctrine, from Genesis to Revelation. You’re taking a short snippet of the message, and creating a false narrative around it. Please be sure to listen to the original message in its entirety and take it in proper context before you put out content misrepresenting a genuine and authentic man of God who is as biblically sound and upright as they come. We must be careful not to violate 2 Timothy 3:3, which admonishes us not to be “false accusers” or “despisers of those that are good”. It would be helpful to offer similar criticisms of figures within your tradition Corey. And a balanced view on 1 Timothy 2:12 is required…there are equally solid hermeneutical and exegetical arguments FOR female leadership and teaching as well.

Corey, I have always respected you and things you’ve said. But this one regarding Bishop Owens is not true! This man is true worshippers and followers of God’s word. As a shepherd, he loves, care and support his people, and has a lot of men in His ministry. And my wife is also a minister. And God uses her tremendous and I am the head and her covering.

I have two cats…. Has nothing to do with anything but cat people get excited when they see someone with a cat…. KEEP PREACHING THE WORD… I sat under that hooping and hollering for years too except I always hated it. I was in a church service where it was women’s day. Pastor had all the women up and fanning their hankies except me. He actually put in his sermon… some of ya’ll sitting there like you sucking on a lemon… like God owe you something. I knew he was talking bout me , but I wasn’t looking sour at all. I was just looking at him and those women going nuts. He underestimated me, I stared at him even harder. I’ve been in Bible studies I’ve walked out of… The story of Tamar who was raped by her brother… Pastor had a woman from the congregation come up and told her to pretend like she was mixing a cake. She did but I guess she didn’t do it suggestive enough for him. He told her to gyrate her hips… then proceeded to tell all of us that’s why she was raped. He said,” ya’ll women know when ta’ll cooking ya’ll bodies be moving and stuff… I got up and walked out. That’s just the tip of the iceberg of things I’ve seen and heard. Used to pray… God please there has to be more than this! He finally told me one day to leave both churches I was minister of music. Next 3-5 years taught me how to live by faith and now I just goes where He sends me. Sorry this got long!

Meaning: a prophet teaches truth and interprets the word of GOD, so does this mean that, when GOD came to me in the spirit and asked me to teach his children. I have to wait for a husband who’s a pastor of a church or join a church, just so I can sit under a man and wait for this man’s authority to get up and teach to GOD’s children. No! I’ve already gotten GOD’s authority to teach his children, just as JESUS taught, it’s no difference when the Lord went to the prophetess Deborah who was a prophet, judge and a military leader. Deborah role shows that, women weren’t always inferior to men since, Deborah was called by GOD to deliver Israel, it’s just common sense.
Prophesying and teaching are two completely different things. It amazes me how so many believers don't know the difference of the two. The bible is not contradictory, The pastoral criteria has been written and the bible is crystal clear on this. Women are of equal value in the eyes of God as men are, we were just assigned different roles by God. There are no female pastors, or apostles in the bible. If God wanted women to be pastors, or apostles, the Holy Spirit would have added it to the text. Paul says do not go beyond what is written 1 Corinthians 4:6. The matter has been spoken on...PERIOD.
As a Pastor, you should know better than coming against a Man of God. How can you tear another Pastor down, as if you're perfect. Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
