I just want something to cruise in that can fit the wife and a few kids. My dad might have talked me into using a chevy motor. So I'm on the lookout for a good 235. I still want to use a straight 6

@@junkyardjoe1994 Great. Just because it is a six does not mean it cannot be a nice strong balanced six! The roomy dog house will mean ez maintenance. Dress it up! But mpg varies widely among 6 bangers. I would use what you really want, even if you have to customize a bit to do it. I like it, BUT your plan is not "typical" for this classic! But you also aren't parking it unseen in a garage or museum! So, more power to ya.

Terry thanks for subscribing! I haven't put any thought on it but I know they leave the motor incredibly clean. The only annoyance for the whole deal would be having a decent spot to get the tanks filled. I think you lose just a touch of power as well.

With the gaseous fuels you lose about 20 percent of over all HP. However the engines run alot longer because of no gas wash between the rings. Hell you can get a 500 gallon propane tank put behind your house. Plus.. With that engine you can rebuild it with SLIGHT cam upgrade CHEAP . you won't miss any horsepower.. that 300 is a beast... I'd love to be able to help you do that thing.. But.. I'm stuck and broke till SSI decide how much back pay I'll get.90 days.. I've never installed one of these kits.. but I will on my next vehicle.... I'm not telling you to do it... I'm old school . At 55 I do what I can.. engine rebuilding is easy on that engine... I'll be keeping up with your progress... might even come by and BS with you... BTW , have you ever watched where Power-nation. Turbo charged a 300 ? They got over 500 ponies out of it ?!!!😎 TAKE CARE.

It's called a 445 because of its torque rating. The displacement is a 401 though. Inferior and moving is way better than sitting in a yard rotting in my opinion
