Alfred Molina tells a story about working with tarantulas on Raiders of the Lost Ark where he had one female tarantula on him and all the other tarantulas on him where males and that one female was sending all the males crazy
Originally, the spiders weren't moving, so they introduced the female, yes. Very crazy to think what actors endured for a 1-6s shot in a film (award-winning or otherwise).
Having a tarantula spider in Russell Crowe mouth doing a scene for a marvel movie very surreal russell crowe managed to survive a deadly real spider movie scene very legendary for a great actor in real life it would be scary doing a scene like that very surreal you would have to be fearless Russell crowe was fearless doing a scene for a marvel movie film that he done
I keep tarantulas as pets. I would be cool with letting one crawl on me, but probably not put one in my mouth. Depending on what part of the world they're from they could fling their hairs if they feel threatened which, like he said, give you a rash and itch like crazy. It's bad news to get them in your eyes/mouth. However, there is no known deadly species of tarantula when it bites. It would only kill you if you are allergic, or maybe very young/old. That said kudos to Russel for getting that shot for the movie.
As a veteran tarantula keeper, accidentally inhaling the urticating hairs from a tarantula is horrible, if they get in your eyes and nose and such, I just can't imagine. They should never be on your face and it's absurd they let him do it. Love this guy though.
I always knew Russell Crowe was hardcore. BUT *THIS*?!? 😳🤯😱 Holy cow. I would've never, ever agreed to such jankery. Maaayyybe one take, but absolutely no more, no way, no how, no can do, sister Christian. ☠️
Annoying directors with all their takes, I get that they're seeking the perfect shot, but you'd think for a tarantula to the mouth scene they'd make sure the lighting was perfect to begin with ffs.
Willing to do all that and in 2024 I have to listen to actresses say how much they hate the characters they play and listen to Rachel Zegler complain about wearing a Snow White costume…
OK, then I take that back. You are in some corner of the industry, then. But here's the deal: You simplified things without ever having sat foot on that set. If anything, when there are animals, weather, kids included, you often end up shooting more and no one gets fired. But let's say nice takes are too many. How do you know the cinemaphotographer was to blame? How about the director? How about grip, lighting being accountable for a few takes? How about the spider not playing ball? You came here to judge with zero real insight.
@@AntiVaganza Trust me, If I was the producer on that set I'd fire the director too. You came here to insult me for no reason other than to be a justice warrior.
Some have the hairs on their back legs, most are on their abdomen and they use their back legs to flick the hairs off their abdomens into the air, very irritating but bad if gets in your eyes or respiratory system
I keep tarantulas, I share a bedroom with over 30 of em. I have a few that are handleable but I don't think i'd trust any of my guys anywhere near my face. those hair's he was talking about that gave him the rash can do a lot more damage if they get in your eyes, nose or mouth
