Give her love even though she’s not affectionate, times like these we need to be reminded that we are loved. And don’t ask her what she wants to do, spontaneously take her to places. Depression is so debilitating that all you want to do is sleep and be anti social. The worst thing is when people say it's all in your mind and to get over it. She needs to get her hormones and thyroid checked also the antidepressants possibly need to be changed or increased. We love you for how you love her Bri ❤️
Bri you know what would make her feel better? When I’m in a funk I don’t want to get ready and go out it feels like a chore. But I noticed she enjoys talking about her experiences in life with Ramiro and people who listen to her, also play her type of music and rent movies that she will enjoy. Like Mexican movies with her favorite snacks.
Mama has a deep depression. It all starts with forgiveness and letting go of the past. I can tell I had that. I wanted someone to scoop me out of that whole. Until I meet God and gave him all my worries and to heal my heart. I'm happier know and I feel with purpose again. You are a wonderful granddaughter. God bless you and mama.
Same girl! I was going freaking crazy from the anxiety/depression. I went to get medication and just decided one day that I didn’t wanna depend on a pill and just got closer to God and here I am! Not as happy as before but definitely better than I was and moving forward. I learned to accept life challenges that I can’t control ♥️

I agree! I think they’re being cautious with her because of COVID. Mama is high risk due to her age but thankfully things are getting better. I’m hoping things become safer so mama can enjoy the things she use to do before. The twins would always take her out pre-pandemic which is so awesome!
I suffer from severe depression and the fact that you took her in and won’t let her be alone brings tears to my eyes. The love and bond your family has one like myself could only hope and pray for a family bond like that. I have watched y’all from the beginning and y’all haven’t changed a bit. Bri don’t let her take medication. Don’t let her be dependent on a pill. She just needs to be outside, take her out, and exercise helps a lot. I’m sure she’s close to god but have her get closer. Have her think positive. I know it’s hard. Been there done that but you come to a point where you get fed up with being miserable.
I agree with you but I can see the twins following the doctors instructions. It’s intimidating sometimes going against the doctors orders. Because if something happens you’ll blame yourself forever
Give her a little bit of chocolate usually helps with depression, maybe schedule a massage at home, give her a little makeover and take her out to eat somewhere. She seems to always like doing things like that with your mom. 💕 hope she feels at home it’s always good for her to see the baby every day, grandkids bring back life into grandparents. Maybe get her some nice plants for her room to help her feel like she needs to care for something simple every day
My father just passed 2 months ago at the age of 75, my father was diagnosed with alzheimer and kidney failure. He died from a heart attack. Treasure ur grandma. We don't know how much time we have and then u will be left like me, with so many regrets and so many words left unsaid. My dad had bad depression at the end. It can literally kill them. Take care of her and let her know how much u love her and appreciate her.
my grandpa passed 7 months ago and he suffered with depression just like mama.. something that would help him a lot was going for a quick drive. Sometimes i would take him to the grocery store and tell him he could stay in the car if he wanted just for him to not feel forced to go but once he was in the car he insisted on wanting to go into the store because he said he felt motivated. As grandparents get older they sometimes feel like they aren’t needed and are just a burden. So maybe having her help on things she can do, will be great for her. It will also keep her mind off of negative things. Sometimes our thoughts are our worst enemy.

It’s probably because of her brother having Alzheimer’s. It’s hard to see your family like that and maybe it’s making her think about her life. Like think about death and stuff. But being around everyone should help her mood you all can take turns taking her out. We love seeing her on the vlogs
I love what you said about never putting her in a home. I'm a nurse and I see a lot of neglect in the field, not all nurses keep their vows, sad truth and nothing like a loved one caring for their elders.
This hit me hard, when mama said all she wants to do is sleep and doesn’t want to go anywhere.... i feel her so much because I’m so depressed and it’s hard trying to get out of that funk. It’s something you don’t understand unless you gonna through it and i feel her and it makes me so sad! I would love to hug her! Please don’t leaver her alone.

My advice is having conversations with her, maybe have a drink here and there with her, sit out in the patio in the evening enjoy the fresh air, take her out to eat a few times a week, basically just keep her company. Praying Mama gets to feeling a lot happier having the baby around.
Bri you should do shortcuts for mama, that way she only presses one app on her Home Screen and the shortcut automatically calls someone. I have shortcut apps to call my mom, dad, and bf lol

What you’re doing is amazing! 💜 I take care of my 98 year old great auntie. When I bought my home I made sure to have a room/restroom just for her. She’s my queen and a second mother to me. I also have a toddler and it’s amazing to see how close they are. She will adjust over time and so will Evi. Make sure to take lots of photos of them together! 💕

Y’all need to spend more time with your parents and grandparents. They tend to be forgotten. I stay feeling my moms energy. If she feels off I stay and hang out with her and I drag my husband and kids with me. Or she comes over and I let her cook. They want to feel wanted. Especially the single elders. You’ll all feel it ONE day. I love my momma so I never let her feel depre or anything.
My elderly mom enjoys walks around the neighborhood, gardening, looking after her indoor plants, crocheting, and the occasional visit to Ross. Try any of these activities that don’t require her to step outside of her comfort zone too much. Sometimes helping them stay busy, even if from home, helps alleviate their internal/medical hardships. It’s so great to see you be so nurturing and attentive with Mama. Our elders are so precious.

I remember when I went through depression I moved in with my sister and her 2 kids. It helped me so much. Being around young life and pure-ness lifted my mood. Your grandma will come out of this. She is strong and the days she feels like she isn't I know you will help her and be that strength. I pray for her and thank you Briana for actually acknowledging her feelings. I think mama being around baby Evi is going to make her happy. Babies are pure joy even though they cry at times. Maybe having her own garden/plants can help. I recently started having my plants and they keep me busy. Antidepressant are a bit scary for me bc they just make you sleep. I really hope mama gets better bc dealing with mental health is so hard sometimes people don't understand

I would talk to him about his childhood an how he grew up. I watched TV with him. Not many family members want to deal with older people. You are such a great person with a big heart. Definitelt suggest taking her to get a massage!! It can be really relaxing for her and help feel more relieved. Sometimes having knee pain or pain anywhere in your body can really affect your mental health. Even if she doesn’t think she needs one it will help her so much! Possibly even take her to get them periodically. Hope she feels better soon! 🙏🙏🙏 It’s always great to watch her be so outgoing and vocal.

I remember when my grandpa had to stay in one of those homes with old ppl bc he was sick and he had to have a nurse and he would get so depressed being there 💔 we would go home crying for him.
