In this clip, Young Chris gave his take on which was the better diss track, “Ether” or “Takeover” and recounted being in the studio with Jay when he recorded “Super Ugly.” Young Chris said Nas and Jay-Z’s squashing their beef was a beautiful thing for hip-hop.
Later, Young Chris talked about some of the projects he worked on with Jay-Z and why he wasn’t awestruck by Hov.

People saying Takeover is better have revisionist history. I was there! Born and raised in philly. The DJ’s were stunned when Ether dropped. Like they couldn’t believe Nas came out swinging like that. It’s all you heard that year. It’s not a knock to Jay, but everyone raised Nas hand as the winner in the beef. Ether is a verb now, that’s how hard it was.

Takeover wasnt some half ass diss attempt. Jay went in and tried to end Nas on the verse aimed at him. Then Jay embarrassed himself after he heard ether and came out with that lame superugly joint. Jay underestimated nas. Period.
