Epic game. I can't get enough of tower rush-like strategies. The way it gets so close to that knife edge between success and failure... I just love that suspense.
Hey Grubbster, just wanted to let you know, that I love your content. Playing WC3 with my brothers back in 2005 was my entry into gaming too. Appreciate how you still produce videos for this awesome game.
My friend back in the day of good old wc3 reign of fire used to build the necropolis near the enemy base and start an ud tower rush that way... it was 70% of the time a losing game. However, the other 30% was fun as hell to watch
I remember you and your dad going to events, like Magnus Carlsen and his father always did in Chess, it'a amazing what a motivated father can do to a motivated son.
About SC2 and Spine Crawler rush. You can actually plant Hatchery, then cancel it and plant creep tumor in the middle of where hatchery was, because there is a little bit of creep now. Not sure if that worked in SC times, I think it was possible to plant one sunken.
You can even build a spike crawler after cancelling the hatch. Since it's building outside of creep, it loses slowly half of it's HP until it's built, though.
I tried to mimic this almost worked lol was fun trying. The profanity that came from the opponent was worth it lol. Did mass priests paladins in a 4v4 we won and exorcism the evil opponents lol love trying the strategies lol
Spine crawler rushes are semi-legitimate - I mean, they're probably not "optimal", but people have gotten to GM off of it. As far as brood war goes.. I can't imagine that a sunken colony rush works nearly as well since they can't move and take a lot longer to build.
Since you cant build off creep in BW its unlikely that you got spine crawler rushed but considering you cant build spine crawlers in BW nut rather sunken temples or colonies or whatever they are called it probably never happened.
Grubby can you do one where you convince your opponent that they just lost to a huge noob. The goal would be to show your opponent how noob you are through poor micro, combat decisions, unit production choices, build design, but in the end "somehow" you end up beating them but without trying to show them your pro moves, extra points earned for rage comments.
I checked for your lastname on the fide rating list and there is no schenkhuizen that played competitive chess. And if he would have been close to going pro there would definetly be a profile you would find, the fide database doesnt forget. Gonna need proof from daddy Grubbster for his story.
