Today I do a reaction to a JT Breakdowns video called Young LeBron James Was Doing Things We Had Never Seen Before. Head over to their channel and shoot a like and subscribe, he's great! Link is below: • Young LeBron James Was...
Oh, I think Lebron evolved for sure. 1. He realized he can't shoot free throws or shoot from farther than 3 feet from the basket reliably, so pass the ball in crunch time. 2. Once he understood 1., he realized he could scapegoat other players (and coaches) for his failures. 3. He learned how to manipulate media to support his scapegoating, and self-aggrandizement. If that's not evolving, what is?
@@TheRealMindCrime Yoooooo lol... i think i miggt got a good fully fantasy, hypothetical WHAT IF...? Discussion for ya ... I only just now thought of this cuZ u are saying a lot of things about this big friggin load that I had forgotten too, but also then u said something, and BING light 💡 went off.... HUGE QUESTION: Would u "allow" a chip for Lebron this coming season AND somehow another one the following season, ALL while he STILL is playing more or less as good as hes been last few seasons.... BUUUUUUUUT... (Oooh boy, can't wait to discuss this lol) RIGHT smack dab in the middle of free agency in the off-season of that hypothetical 2026 season championship.... Riiiiiight as he was being all "ME ME ME," about if he's gonna keep playing, taking in all his sweet sweet media attention... BOOM It finally comes out: undeniable, dead to rights proof that he took PERFORMANCE ENHANCING DRUGS, over let's say like 7 seasons; -1 in Miami (1st ring) -3 in the Cleveland Return years (again, including the championsip season, the infamous "that one right there made me the greatest of all time" ADMITTEDLY IMPRESSIVE chip.. -and then 3 more, in last year, 2024, and obv these fantasy 2025, and 26 seasons, where hed win as a post 40 year old champ And I'm talking no denial, gotta admit it, no excuses, again, DEAD TO RIGHTS like A-Rod....????? Or.... He can just continue to muck up his legacy/career while ALSO still breaking records and showing ungodly longevity... but loses in playoffs again this year, and then no playoffs in 25-26, ultimately his final year....
I used to root for Bron back in his Cleveland days when majority of my peers hated the man. Actually felt bad for him losing in 09, 10, ringless king & Bron didn’t had 4th quarter for a full dollar jokes. Didn’t even cared that he jumped ships to Miami but bragging to come up short was humiliatingly disappointing in 2011. Good for Bron that he will not finish as ringless king as deserved based on how impactful he is to a team, but every last bit of respect went out the window in present day when he had the audacity to say he had no help in 2011. Integrity goes both ways for winning and losing, win like a man, lose like a man.
"Did you ever hear the tragedy of Michael Jordan The GOAT? I thought not. It's not a story the Lebron-stans would tell you. It's an NBA legend. Michael Jordan was a basketball player so powerful and so wise he could use the air to influence his basketball skills to create greatness... He had such a knowledge of Basketball that he could even keep the ones he cared about from buying his shoes. The Lebron's game of basketball is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be noncompetitive. Michael Jordan became so powerful... the only thing he was afraid of was losing his ability to play basketball, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught an entire generation of basketball players everything he knew, then one of his biggest fans erased his memory from history. It's ironic he could save others from buying his shoes, but not himself." - Darth James
I'll say this, when he first entered the league I wanted him to be that guy. He spoke about the players that came before him with reverence, and a ton of respect. He also had a solid understanding of the history of the game and what it meant to be the NBA's standard bearer. He appeared to work hard, and he wanted the responsibility for being the leader of a team. And then he started listening to all the chirping in and out of his camp, and he became the most insufferable, insecure, me first athlete I have ever seen in my entire life. And once the whole KLUTCH media interfering with unbiased reporting started, and he called himself the GOAT, I was done with him. He literally has no one to blame but himself for all the vitriol thrown his way, and he deserves every single bit of it.
Your analysis of Tim Duncan in this video is fair exception for one detail, these were regular season games so Tim Duncan didn't want to give away the strategy in case they met in the finals. Genius by Tim Duncan.
You were meant to destroy your conference rival, not join him! I was a huge Lebron fan at first. He could have been so much better. Imagine if he never left Cleveland, could have been epic.
If he never left he woulda never won. I think deep down he knew Wade was better Wade had a chip and Wade not him would've been looked at as the best of the 03 draft and not him. So he went and joined him sabotaged the 1st year(cause Wade was winning FMVP if they won in 2011) won his rings and bounced after he used Wade up. Just my opinion
I dont understand why people say, "he was doing things we never seen before." I mean, there were a ton of players his height and weight with his athleticism. Shawn kemp, antonio mcdyess, malone, pippen, jamal mashburn, to name a few. I mean he was great, but we've seen big guys fly around and dunk, i dont understand the narrative.
"He was doing things we never seen before" was referring more to the fact that LeBron was what we would see if Dominique/Kemp played point guard. Closest thing is Magic but he didn't have Dominique's/Kemp's athleticism and power dunks.
I think LeBALCO was a very promising player with the entire NBA to his disposal to become one of the actual best players ever but he opted for crying, running away and doing everything wrong, he just got lucky to be dubbed "The Chosen One" right from the beginning so media had to go with that narrative. Regardless, he never did nothing new, maybe he was good for an 18 years old but he never went to college and you can tell, all he does is rely on his body but he has no fundamentals, never had them so his game is always clumsy as hell and never changed.
I still believe Lebron had the most physical talent for anyone who has played the game, unfortunately although he had the hardware, he never had the software.
He making excuses for lebron not being a knockdown shooter like Jordan and Kobe weren’t facing double and triple teams and still making shots, that’s literally the difference in all their games. Jump shot efficiency and finesse around the rim, he’s all brute and clunky which is why he lacks the touch
The past few years the stats and media tell us he's shooting really well from 3. But you watch when he shoots 3s and he's not tightly contested. Opposing teams don't fear his 3 pointer. Meanwhile Kobe was tightly contested on so many 3s and some people call him a worse 3pt shooter than LeBron just based off the percentages. I can see why the wiser NBA fans say "Don't just look at stats! You've got to watch the games and use the eye test too"
I was also one of those guys who are hyped up even before entering the league. Being a fan of KG, Kobe and Tmac, who were all highschoolers that went straight to the NBA, I was so impressed on the way he entered the league and what he has accomplished along the way... I looked pass his shortcomings both in his game and how he lost. Again, I already knew back then he maybe very athletic and capable, but a lot of things are still missing in his game. I looked past that and how early signs of stat-padding are there. But, I had hopes he would improve because he is still young. Kobe is my guy and I really believed he still owns that era, but I really thought LeBron was gonna be next real torch bearer. And then he did that aweful and disgusting "The Decision". Never have I lost respect for a basketball player who supposed to be best and next torch bearer of the league gave up and ran to join other superstars to win rings and had the audacity to proclaim how many championships they'd get, only to very embarassingly lose to Dallas. And guess who went AWOL in that series??? Yes, I'm looking at you LeCoward! And we all know what happened to the rest of the story up to now. --- Left Miami and his "good friend" G@y Wade because he don't have use for his old ass anymore, constant team jumping and superteam building, throwing teammates, coaches, organization under the bus, quitting even when the cames are not over, whining, crying, flopping, manipulating the media, crowning and calling himselt the GOAT, bashing on his 2011 Miami teammates even though its his fault, I can type in more but I guess people with real brains and real fans of the game know what they are. LeBron did not evolve his game, he drags teams to revolve their system to his bagless statpadding style of play, while standing around on defense. He didnt isnt a generational influential hooper like MJ and Curry. Again, no Lebron didnt evolve post first Cleveland stint, he devolved, and the worst thing is he dragged the game and the league along with him.
The game against Detroit (30 straight points) when Rip was above the three guarding LeBron is when he was knocking down the jumper. So that’s why Rip was guarding close above the perimeter
But they also removed hand checking that won’t stop his momentum on those drives, 80s and 90s wouldn’t let him in every time, he would have had to develop a jumper back then
It took Kenny "The Jet" Smith on a recent podcast to make me really understand how game-changing hand-checking is. When you're handchecked, you're going to lower your torso, turn your body away and dribble the ball defensively with the furthest hand away from him. So he doesn't pick your pockets. What happens when you do that? Your head/shoulders/hips/feet are pointed away from the basket. Your view of the court is limited, you're not always squared up at the basket ready to shoot anytime. Take away handchecking, and now you've got all these guards who look so amazing passing the ball with court vision and shooting the ball efficiently. Past legends could have done so too if the game rules allowed them to.
@@TheRealMindCrime Well most players change alter or evolve their game in some way after losing athleticism. He never lost his for reasons unknown (wink wink) so he didnt have 2 improve just play with athleticism no skill. Plus they changed the rules 2 make it easier.
Your conclusion there is exactly what I've been sniffing -- the ball-dominant LeBron system doesn't allow the rest of the team to get into their flow. Saw this affect teammates like Love, George Hill, Larry Nance Jr, etc in the second Cleveland stint and the Lakers the last few years. Been watching old games and seeing Bird's Celtics and Jordan's Bulls, during their dynasty years, weren't playing spectator to their stars and waiting to catch-and-shoot 3s unless they were Kerr, Hodges, Armstrong and that was their specific role they came into the game for. Watched Danny Ainge and one of Boston's bigs run their own two-man give-and-go play where Ainge got an open 2 parallel with the baseline and knocked it down. No starpower needed for that, it's a fundamental offensive play that even very good role players like Ainge can do to lighten the load on Bird and McHale. Can't recall seeing that sort of thing on many LeBron teams.
He did a break down and in none of that was the fact he couldn't hit a jumpshot. nor could he hit free throws so he stopped driving in close games at the end. All that stuff and finishing teammate on the drive stopped in crunch time. His teammates never had a chance to get in the game.
I was always anti-LeBron I think just because I was a Celtics fan and they owned him until he took his circus to South Beach lol. He absolutely had potential then he just got lazy and complacent wasted potential. If he had the mentality of MJ or Kobe he would've become the best ever
It truly is incredible how similar my opinion to yours is. I had a poster of LeBron in his early Cleveland years. Then Miami happened, flopping and all the arrogant comments happened, then I started to dislike him for his off court and on court antics. But to his credit, I think his court vision got a little bit better, his assist highlight reel is pretty impressive.
I had this conversation with my 29 yr old nephew a while back about LeBum vs LeBron. LeBum is who he is now. LeBron was the player they claim he is today. I told my nephew when Bron went to Miami and bulked up. That was the end of him basically. Yes he did have some nice seasons there. But he learned he could truck people and get calls. His game would never evolve. And over time, his game has gotten lazy. He started by not playing defense. And now he rests on offense half the time as well. Him getting huge made him become stiff. And imo, he should've started playing PF and taking on a game like Karl Malone ( screw him BTW) cuz him and Kyrie together, letting Kyrie be a PG and doing pick and roll together like Stockton n Malone would've been money all day
@@TheRealMindCrime is it me, or does he move like a guy who doesn't have joints? He just looks so stiff. Maybe that's why he travels so much? He can't help it?
Lebum is up there with shaq when it comes to potential. What if he actually put in the effort to expand his game? There wouldn't be much room to argue against him being the most skilled player ever. I'm sure he'd have more rings too
totally agree. I always feel a little disappointed with both of them knowing how much natural talent they came in with but they got lazy when it comes to improving
Highlights don’t make an argument. You have to weigh the positives versus the negatives. These are videos of games where teams dogged him and he didn’t look good. Orlando mopped the floor with the Cavs.
The title is doing things never seen. I had seen that, and say was the limit, that's why I think he is an underachiever, and Curry is better. Better career
I have said on many of your videos and others, LeBron has never really worked on his game, his play style tofay is the same play style when he joined the league, he took the shortcut of steroids when he started to “fall off” instead of working to make his game better He is the same exact player today as he was when he was a rookie,
He must be talking about the team hopping and superteam building because yes we've never see an all time great jump ship from so many superteams he himself created before. 🤷🤷
Really? I never saw a Tomahawk dunk before 2003! I never saw some one gabe up the ball when his team is down by 2 or 3 to take the last shot. I never saw a Chosen 1 ROY HYped then didn't reached the playoffs even he got an all star Z in Leastern conf amd a coach that reached the east semis 3 yrs prior. Never saw some one travelled in 06 alot and refs let him get away with it. That's your young Balco.
Lol i feel ya but i never seen a dude fresh out of high school do this in the nba. That part was cool. The uncool part is that he never evolved his game and he still plays like an older slower version of himself at 18.
Yep, he kind of promising because of the hype. But I just really didn't saw it in him. The killer instinct was just not there. I really got a bad feeling when Lespn showing his high school games. Then NBA in 03, nah.. he was given with the key to the city. Back in 96 kobe got to sit back. But following yr, he showed what stuff he can do as off the bench. I really liked how he was schooled by Mike in 98 all star. Showing him if you want to be me you have to reach the bar that I set. And Kobe really did tried his best. Balco? Nah, he reached the playoffs in his 3rd yr. He made the Finals in 07 and was swept. Following yr Cavs giving him multiple time all stars removed like 1 or a couple of yrs. The problem that I'm seing back then he really want those 3ple doubles instead of winning the playoff games. His good for highlights for me that's it.
I never seen a dude fresh out of high school do this in the nba. But his game never evolved at all. Just got bigger, slower, and never worked on his weaknesses. Big disappointment.
Just letting you know that the link in the description is for the wrong vid. LeBron had all the tools to become the GOAT, but unfortunately we know what happened.
this original video very deceiving he is cherry picking plays while not showing the many many plays where his play style failed and him saying lebron wasn't playing with any help is also a blatant lie lebron was holding them back and in the finals every game was close but lebron was the reason they lost 33% shooting almost 6 turnovers a game and terrible defense
@@TheRealMindCrimeDid u notice that in the MJ and Kobe video they showed mostly their entire career and just Lebron in Cleveland. That right there tells you his game hasn't evolved
Not a Lebron fan but you should react to the video about the evolution of Lebron on that same channel to keep it 100%. Too many people keep spreading the false narrative that his game never evolved.
I would love to but this is the closest to that i could find on his channel for lebron. I hope he does a "how lebron evolved" vid someday. I'll totally react to it
@@TheRealMindCrimeHe made that video and it's one of the most recent on his channel. Another great video to react is also a very recent one posted by Hoop Venue channel about Kawhi defense.
@@TheRealMindCrime Doesn’t explain his handle getting worse. That’s not age. I’m 45. I got pretty good (for street ball pickup) around 29. My handle is pretty good when I spend time on the court. My first step is dog poo. (And maybe #’s 2-4 as well. Post game it is.)
Wym his game didnt evolve? His game is a lot slower, hes surveying the floor more. His jumpshot is miles ahead of what it used to be. Hes a better finisher than he was in cleveland. His post game is better. And so on
ahh man your too nice; He was helped by no handchecking plus the diminishing big man in NBA basketball. his entire game was based on him getting layups, hence the over inflated FG %
nahhhh. at 18 years old I've never seen anyone play like this so young in the NBA. But sadly his game never evolved at all and this was his peak lol. He was impressive at first though
@@TheRealMindCrime ok I got you I can agree with that for being 18 yes he could’ve easily been the greatest but never but in the work to be the greatest
Everything he did when he came in the league we've seen before. Tomahawk dunks, lack of midrange and no consistent 3 pointer... we've all seen that before. He did not do anything new when he came in. He only averaged 20ppg as a rookie, now go look at MJ or Wilt ppg as rookies, those are numbers we've rarely seen before.
Same thing they priase like this guy said lebron rookie season left first 7 yrs mike the goat jordan get demonize post before scottie pippen mr . Bench 7 points a game only one players i think that season averages 10 fingers sam vincent a journey man a drug addict orlando woodridge and beat up wash george ice melted gervin
Oh god… This makes him even worse.. He can run and dunk - the end. (I’m yawning) Brother - react on someone more talented than this loser.. how about Caitlyn Clark.. as a rookie (actually killing it with her bag) and will smoke LeBum.
@@TheRealMindCrime I’m not knocking your work bc it’s dope.. more to what’s happening with Caitlin and the WNBA dumb ass - jealous - racist “existing and post” players just hating on her. And it’s a big problem.. The “women’s” psychology will kill what Caitlin’s impact is doing.
Lebron in his 1st stint in Cleveland threatened to leave the team for FA if his roster wasn't upgraded with talent. The Cavalier organization did everything they could to appease the boy....but he STILL left leaving Cleveland out to dry.
@@pambrown5625 Okay. The trade didn't happen....but if Lebron is "the greatest player of all time" then it was his job to raise the level of play from his teammates. But instead he up and took his talents to Miami. I never liked Lebron but I would have respected him far more if he displayed the leadership Cleveland needed. He gets no pass from me.
@@pambrown5625Don't matter he went 2 Miami with a FMVP previous years scoring champ amd a top 5 -10 PF and still lost. It doesn't matter if he had Amare or not it's him failing. Amare Stoudemire wasn't goin 2 make Lebron more clutch or skilled he woulda been his 1st allstar scapegoat.
All lebron haters need to pay attention to this original video cause his analysis is spot on...He didnt talk narratives without having facts and video footage to back up what hes saying...Keep hating
@@pambrown5625 it's not a narrative. I've watched him play since he was in high school. I remember my homie told me about this beast of a player named Lebron. I thought yea this ni66a gonna be great. Knew he'd probably have 2 develop his game but athleticism wise off the charts... and it's been that way since then. Fundamentals sloppy he's gotten 2 the point where he doesn't play defense and the flopping is just egregious. That's about the only part that evolved was the flopping.
@@pambrown5625 It's not a narrative Pam I've been watching Lebron since high school. My homie put me up on him. Dude was a monster back then and I thought yea once his game develops he's gonna be great. When he left and went to Miami I wasn't mad I was a Wade fan and was glad he was getting help. Then the 2011 finals happened and I was like wtf what's wrong with Lebron. Little did I know his game hadn't changed. They used the same defensive strategy the Spurs and Celtics used. He went to Hakeem for some post moves... tell me Pam does Lebron have any post moves...No his foot work is trash. How is your footwork trash after working with Hakeem. Kobe worked with Hakeem and his footwork was immaculate . Lebrons handles also trash and he's a turnover machine. So I don't need to watch a video to know what I've already seen after 20 years. He's athletic and that's it. No sound fundamental skill just big and strong.
exactly. I dunno why that's considered great. I like Peyton Manning and I think he's really great but I can't say he's the greatest because others have accomplished more than him. When someone says Brady is the goat I don't get mad lol
@@TheRealMindCrime I actually think Manning is the better qb. Brady had the better team. It was the Pat’s defense that beat Manning not Brady. I might have Brees above Brady. My opinion doesn’t take away from anyone’s greatness.

How? Lol. He does the same bull rushing shit he was doing at 19 and his mid range and FTs are still lackluster with no post game. Watch the games and stop watching cherry picked highlights
I think it's the other way. He didn't improve his weaknesses and his strengths have gotten weaker due to age. He needs a mid range game at this age to take advantage of his giant body but he still plays in the perimeter
I hate when people say that lebron can't shoot yes he can jackass lebron been good shooter his entire career look at lebron shooting % and you'll be surprised!
His shooting % is deceiving. It's just layups, putbacks and dunks. High percentage shots that a big guy like him can make with ease. Actual shooting though? He's a garbage mid range shooter (below 40% at least). A mediocre FT shooter. And a mediocre 3 Pt shooter. Go look at his averages by feet from the basket. 0-3 feet, he's excellent. The further away you start getting from the basket......it ain't pretty.
