Day 1 saw Jody, Jadan, Spence & Clay taking the ute in Spooner's forestry with dogs Po, Pace & Bigsy to hunt wild pigs. Day 2 found us back at it again this time with young Lucus, Jody & Clay trying to catch some wild pork for the fork. I love seeing the young people enjoying hunting. I started to hunt when i was five, I'll be sixty in December and i still have pigs on the brain. Can't take a good drive in the hills without stopping at all pig sign . I had cousins in there eighties that was still hunting. Most of them are gone now and with them so much memories. I miss them so. Aloha friends.

Well done mate on another great vid. It must be extremely satisfying to see the likes of Jodie & Spencer growing from boys into men having developed their hunting skills under your mentoring. Jodie cracks me up - always smiling & wearing his heart on his sleeve. Spencer (aka The Wild Man from Borneo) is a little more reserved but they're both quality young men. As for young Lucas what an example of the cycle beginning again. That pig was certainly heavier than him but that didn't stop Lucas getting stuck in. Thanks again Clay.

Back in ‘76 I drove my Austin A60 almost into Lake Chalice to visit my Bro who was employed by Forestry. He couldn’t believe I didn’t walk & drove. It would climb as long as dry conditions. Sometimes I would thread rope through & around wheels for grip. Only problem was it didn’t like fords as distributor was low down on engine block. If water to cross then we covered the dizzy with plastic bag. Can’t stop a keen hunter mate Haha 😅

Thank you for taking young blokes out to hunt. Many of them need this or if they don't feel comfortable hunting and killing, they are often comfortable helping during the hunt then butchering and cooking up the meat (my personal preference but I fish and process my fish etc). As a parent, I know my daughter will be ready to hunt at age 12 or 13. Unsure about my son though as he is a gentle soul who loves animals. However, both of them will be fishing, gutting, filleting and cooking fish earlier than this age. At what age do you recommend children start to learn to hunt? I just want to get it right for them

Neither of my children enjoyed hunting when they were younger. My daughter now at 21 has her rifle and boots...my son is more sensitive and still does not hunt but loves fishing.
