tried to make him scary because the teachings of the faith are scary. spiritual warfare is real. those who are orthodox catholic true to the faith like the fathers of the priestly Society of Saint Pius X (sspx) have such an attitude and even a fearsome nature in speaking on grave realities of sin in our lives and in the church. read about popes pius x and xii against modernism, the sum of all heresies…. this shows message was actually on. a deeper level than the obviously sacrilegious nudity and aesthetic fun-making of the vatican on the show, the message is ultimately endorsing and saying that in a way the SSPX type traditionalist almost authoritarian mindset is scary on surface but it is on the side of god and the only true path to him making the only pope who is for once a man who lives what the church teaches and therefore cant be manipulated by black mailers while the rest of the vatican make themselves easy prey with their many vices or insecurity of faith
I think you missed the point of the show and fell for the exact opposite.... It's like looking at an Holocaust movie and saying "Yeah, they did some good there"
@@Mortebianca Well I think you missed the point of the show and fell for the exact opposite.... It's like looking at an Holocaust movie and saying "Yeah, we didn't do anything to stop it"
@@nathanielskyathaniel6827 hahaha this is the part that shows just how smart the writer(s) for this show is (are) hey. Atheists took it a completely different view of the scene. But his speech, albeit FANATIC, points to the heart of the problems that churches have these days: ONLY focus on increase the numbers of the followers but don't care about Bible and Faith, which is the things that matter most for Christianity.
@@katryk94 I created my kids does that mean that I have to force them to have total Devotion to me? That they should just live their lives for me and not themselves? U got marbles in your brain
@@borisrovchenko7747Hardly true. Every modern Pope wore it until Paul VI gave it away. And it’s not in a museum now but the crypt of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Washington.
@@edgarleon7000 curious. Can't be copyright, since they are allowing a lot of other scenes from the same series. Almost like they are trying to prevent the spread of the message in this scene o.O
While there is need for grace and forgiveness, his zeal and passion for devotion to god over friendship with the world is what god asks. James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (Matthew 10) 34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36 And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household. 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. 38 And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me.
The Church has always adapted. It adapted to the Roman imperial regalia and pagan custom when Christianity assumed prominence with the conversion of the emperor. With the Renaissance, it adopted the new thought that has filtered in through the Mohammedans. The Greek brand of rationalism that was endorsed by someone who could have been heretic but, by this process of adaptation, recognized as Church doctor and father. And it adapts to modernity, to the new scientific conception of the world that is hard to reconcile, not only with forms of magical thinking and superstition but also with a coherent account of morality or philosophy of man. Modernity, in a way, is irreconcilable with the fundamental precepts of the Church. For Nietzsche, modernity heralded a form of death for the old religion. And many of its conceptions died a natural death. It is in this time and age that an institution robustly designed to adapt to changes is struggling to find something that it has lost to history.
Compare with the text of the scripture about love" 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no account of wrongs.…"
