It’s easy to underestimate his pace. Most of his highlights will be his later career and he changed his play style so he was in less situations where you’d expect him to be full speed like he was at united. Except for when madrid were playing a real counter attacking style of course

The thing with the messi vs ronaldo argument is tht messi has played for barcelona his whole career, in one league, and at the best team in tht league. While ronaldo has played in italy, spain, england and Portugal. And has proven himself in all those leagues, thts the only reason I pick ronaldo over messi usually, just bcz messi hasn't tested himself outside of his comfort zone.

Ronaldo played for Prime United from 2003 to 2009 , then he left for Real Madrid ( the greatest club of all time) then again he left for Juventus , the top 1 of the league who keep winning the title for over 10years. Every time he left for a team , he played for the best team in the league. Except now , and you see the result.

Real Madrid was the best team in La Liga till Guardiola came. That talk about Zone is just lame. Ronaldo was at Man Utd, the best team in ghe league as at the time. Real Madrid, the best club in Spain, Barca just looked better because of Messi and Pep. Juventus, 7 time Serie A winners. Real Madrid has won La Liga and the Champions League and also produced a balon d'or winner since Ronaldo left. Barca has played in Europa league and are yet to win anh title since Messi left. Guess who's in his comfort zone amongst the two.

Ronaldo playing for sporting Lisbon was 17 /18 Alex Ferguson signed him for Manchester united at age 18 and he played 6 years in England and he was the best player in the world he had crazy speed and mesmerizing skills scored some of the most insane goals but after real Madrid signed him was converted from a winger into a center forward and take away the flare from his style. Ronaldo at united the first time was the best of him.

Genetics are very important but Ronaldo when he was not yet a professional, when he was still playing in the youth teams of Sporting he used to go to the streets of Lisbon after training, put weights on his feet, go to traffic lights and race against cars. Since he was a kid he had a mentality of outdoing himself and improving every aspect of his game.

People forget his first 2 seasons at United, he was actually quite average, if anything he was considered a little bit of a flop. He also was weak and used to get pushed off the ball easily , and then dude hit the weights...and it was game over for the league (much as I hate to admit it, as he played for my teams rivals. I support Liverpool and he played for Manchester United our main rival, similar to Lakers v Celtics in terms of dynasties)

Actually young Ronaldo (18-21) was quite inconsistent and used tricks to entertain rather than to advance the teams position. After that he went stratospheric. Fair play to him.
