Exactly right mate, my grandfather spent 35+ years mowing lawns after work and on his days off and it paid off for him, all that with a bunch of kids. Had enough clients that he was able to give my uncles and aunties an understanding that if you're one to do it for yourself and take pride in it then others wouldn't mind paying you for it!

Kudos to the parents for raising this well-mannered, level-headed young man!! Good on this young man for thinking out of the box, making things happen for him. A lot of young people too lazy to find a job and too easily going on Centrelink, could learn from him. Go soar, Sir! Edit: On the flipside, there are also a lot of young people who are prepared to to work for what they want in life. Hence my other comment further below.
@freak1sees714
@freak1sees714 3 года назад
That was my first thought too... but then I started thinking what the inspiration is for 14,15,16,17yr old to work, work, work and not be a young teen that does whatever young teens do these days.. was he made to earn everything as a child is what I'm getting at coz i've heard of having a great work ethic... but this is next level... and he's still a child... at least in the eyes of the law.. good parenting or nazi parenting ?? I'm not sure... but I think he's absolutely great... especially as I am currently unemployed .. he's definitely showing me up.. with ease.. good on him 🙌
@kina7128
@kina7128 3 года назад
@@freak1sees714 I very much doubt that he was subjected to "Nazi parenting" - the ease at which he credits his family for his success, supports my argument. This is a young man, brought up not to take things for granted, and it shows in his whole demeanour. He seems driven and hungry for success and therefore definitely earns my respect. Interestingly to note that the word "teenager" only came to the fore during the late fifties, early sixties, as a result of the urbanisation of the majority of people away from the country. The youth before then, did not quite spend their days like some do nowadays - they were required to spend their holidays working the farms ploughing or harvesting. You would be surprised at what decent respectable young teens do nowadays. They do not loiter about, spending their days surfing, smoking weed, hooning on the streets and being totally motherless in Bali.( Thank Goodness, those are the minority.) The teens I observe nowadays, at least here in WA, WORK part-time. You see their friendly faces at fast food outlets, Kmart, Spudshed, Bunnings and even Spotlight. They walk tall, with a purpose...

@@kina7128 to be fair myself and all my friends had jobs through highschool. Only one didn't. Want a car, want to go to the movies? Need money. These days you have unlimited pron, movies, games, social media on phones and every kid seems to have a decent phone. Also there's a decreased interest in cars, I couldn't wait to get one when I was 17 so I started working two years earlier. In the city at work I only know one guy there who has a car because he lines them, the rest seem to have no interest as they move out and into an apartment, and often car pool so they don't worry about licences either. If you told 17 year old me that good hard working guys I'll be on a team with won't have their licences until 30, I wouldn't believe it. So I applaud this young guy for his efforts, and being different to what we assume is the new norm. In reality, he's doing what we all did (I'm a millennial, I'm not saying things it generations are better it worse or lazier), whereas now if I was in high school and my parents gave me a phone and allowance, I may not have been out working like him either. Interesting. The only a wheelbarrow line was clever, I clicked on it, and it netted him a ute!

I mean most kids is a little over exaggerated, dont ya think? If most kids around my age were like this, most small towns and cities would be hell. Most of us are working part time jobs. Not trying to hate on you, but it really bugs me when people from the generations before us say such things. It annoys me when they put all of us into one group just because of a minority shown on tv.

Cool and good job lad. But the first time you damage someone's property/ injure yourself/ get bitten by a dog/ get accused of stealing something.... You know your screwed right? Legal fees will eat up everything you just earned. There are so many modern legal loopholes that have been designed to counter this kinda old school approach. Not knocking his gumption here, just saying to be careful out there.
