As someone who actually know what actually happened in Chelsea from a year ago (I've a friend that worked in cobham), Conor Gallagher earned every respect before this season even started, that I'd argue he deserved the armband as much as James, maybe more. The whole club was scared shitless with all the bullying and death threats after what happened with Ukraine, from both fans and embarassingly the british government. Not just the players, but even the kitchen staff. If you think Mudryk costed too much, well it's because it was a political transaction. The situation was already so dire it reached to the point of they HAD to have a Ukrainian footballer there. But it was already full of negativity that it became toxic, especially after Boehly happened. Gallagher was among a very few player that kept the positivity in the training ground, he talked to a lot of players and staff ensuring he will stay with the club no matter what and everything will be okay, and kinda becoming some sort of leader there.

Oliver Arblaster is a 20 year old academy product who was on loan at Port Vale and has now come back in January to captain our first team, whilst running the midfield in most games he plays in. If Miley from Newcastle is on your list, Arblaster is as good if not better. Disappointing cop out to not at least do 5 minutes of research into us 😂
