Leno is criminally underrated. Just because he has a shit defence infront of him doesn't mean he's an average goalie. He is one of the best shot-stoppers in the Premier League.
I love these videos but feel like I need to clarify on the Villa every time. Chester was our club captain and was our only good CB for ages. At the start of last season, Bruce had him as literally the only fit natural centre half in the team. He was starting Mile Jedinak next to him. Chester was excellent for Villa and the only reason he’s not still playing for us is Bruce basically forced him to play through injury at the beginning of last season and it fucked his legs. Mings is no doubt a better defender and I think he’s a good pick for this list, but the disrespect to Chester was crazy to me. Also you said with Chester in defence they never looked like being promoted when they literally were in a playoff final with him the season before we got promoted and he and Terry only allowed 1 goal.
I'm a Villa fan too but in order to enjoy watching the Irish Guy's videos you have to disconnect from your affiliation with your club and just watch as a neutral football fan because as much as I love the Irish Guy he can speak some unprecedented bullshit at times which is annoying but you just have to round with it and take it with a pinch of salt i.e. the implication that Chester wasn't a good centre-back.
Some of my favourite creators brag about nearly daily content and put out two videos a week. The Irish Guy tells me "I'll talk to you in a while" and I legitimately get worried when I don't see his scar wearing ass two nights in a row.
Do a Premier League Table if your team had the squad of you biggest rival. Same manager, but different squad. Or maybe the same idea, but with the manager of you biggest rival and your actual squad.
James Chester was Villa's best defender every season we were in the championship. Only reason he isn't playing for Villa now is because he played through injury for us and damaged himself. Villa got to the play off final with him as a starting centre back just the season before Mings arrived.
James Chester was Villa's captain and by far our most reliable player in our first 2 seasons in the championship. He also captained the team that was one win from promotion. The only reason he wasn't playing alongside Mings was because he had a recurring injury which he had been forced to play through for a while, and eventually resulted in him being out for around a year. Mings was much more an upgrade on us having to play Jedinak out of position at cb, rather than James Chester.
Obviously neves is an upgrade to David Edwards but he will forever be a wolves hero .. always worked so hard and critically underrated as a football league player
In Liverpool there are a lot of upgrades. Andy Robertson for James Milner (a makeshift left back) or Alberto Moreno (is this guy a left back or a left wing?) Virgil van Dijk for Dejan Lovren Sadio Mane for Jordon Ibe Fabinho for Emre Can
I feel like you really wanted to include Ruben Neves in this but honestly Dave Edwards is still remembered fondly by fans. A better choice would have been Dominic Iorfa for Willy Boly or Bodvarsson for Diogo Jota.
The reason Kante went to Chelsea for 30mil was cause that was the price of his release clause. After this transfer Leicester never added another release clause to another players contract
