Pop off the trim starting at the push button start pull two number seven millimeter screws slide infotainment center forward there are two card-like VCR style cassettes behind bottom one is the ticket slide it out for four torx head screws you'll see a motherboard split the motherboard in half the bottom board has two connections for antennas three torque screws remove reassemble and now you no longer have OnStar

How do you turn off OnStar tracking? Although you can simply unsubscribe from the service, the OnStar hardware continues to track how you use your vehicle, even if you remove its fuse. The only way to completely eliminate OnStar is to physically disconnect the module from your vehicle.Jun 6, 2023

If/when your data stream becomes disabled, what prevents the insurance companies from simply placing you in the riskiest, most costly category by default?

If you disconnect the antenna, wonder if that stops the tracking, but still lets you use the Bluetooth.

It's really easy, don't buy a connected car. I have two cars, neither is connected and I like it that way.

Old ( and awesome looking ) cars are the answer , not computers on 4 wheels. Enjoy the "comforts" of your new plastic cars!

You should try to own an older vehicle anyway. Pretty much everything built after the mid 2000's is designed to fail.

You need to really lean into the camera. You're much too far away.

2005 they mandated the ability for the gooberment to turn off your car, while starting cash for clunkers all cars after 2005 can be turned off remotely

Onstar has battery backups in the vehicle and it's always connected if you pay for it or not.

If you wanna go nuts on finding info about your car, find the service manual, about 5000 pages, yes, thousands of pages for one car. If your running apps on the vehicle or on your phone, think about that. Do banking and insurance apps track you....

I recall some famouis person driving off some rural mountain road rolling their vehicle. The police said they were going to check the vehicles computer to determin if the driver was driveing wrecklessy. My ohshit bells were ringing loud. im thinking now the Police/gvt will go back in time to determin if you are a bad guy... now EV have cams watching drivers I wanted to put one of those insurance dongles on one of my cars. But id put it on a car that I use for demolition derbys! Oh and bonous fun fact, if you financed your car, as early as the late 90's your banking contract could, and certainly nowadays, have a section of language that most would inteperate as benine. it wouild say something to do with "electronic." Now repo or reposisioin words will not be found in any reputable finance contract but you might find "electronic" near substituted words for reposession.
