Usually its probably someone they had already been talking to or considering as a back up plan. Could also be they can't handle being alone so they get with the next available person.

True but be glad that this person didn’t ruin any more of your time! They already moved on and their new victim should know better 😂 if a guy wants me and he already is in a relationship I will be extremely turned off by someone like that… so unreliable 😅

Susan, thank you for another deep & thoughtful discussion. 🙏🏼 For your listeners: I was dumped twice by exes who moved on quickly to others (likely they had this person in the shadows before the breakup was official). Both came back to me when those relationships ended. If they move on quickly, it’s not unheard of for them to come back for more, just know your value and keep that door locked. Heal, move on.

Anon- this is super advice. They probably fell into infatuation or limerence with the new person. Then, they woke up. It wasn’t you. It wasn’t someone stable with a great skill set to be a real partner.

I loved this episode especially, because you offered great alternative perspectives that give your listeners other ways to view the relationship instead of the old stories “I’m not lovable/attractive enough/etc.”. Especially the example with the woman whose ex went with the “easier” option. Great takes! 👏🏼

Oh this topic brought back old memories in my 20's... I used to check out their socials and see the new person my ex was dating and it killed me. Present day, I stay away from ex socials so I don't torture myself. I don't wanna know about who my exes are dating or what their doing for my own mental health.

It's about you loving you. And if he didn't, love you well enough to deserve you, then you must love yourself 1000 times more. And then that longing that you feel for "him." Will absolutely disappear in a moment.

Wow the power imbalance and them feeling small and wanting something less..as they felt small, it did hurt and now I can see the broken partner fell off the conveyor belt. He settled for someone he feels he can control. A covert narc as well. I am free to live an asshole free life. ( his quote to me).. and its not your fault. I am ok with that! Being married its a bit harder mind wise.. and recovery. Great video! I did leave him first but wanted him to work on his issues, he will never change - he went from the penthouse to the basement.. I've told him that too.. and he knows it. Its all about control & finding submissive partner.

A lot of men tend to like submissive partners because they can do what they want and the submissive woman is not going to leave. They're not necessarily looking for an equal.

My ex broke up with me after 6 years of being in a relationship and i found out later that he was talking to another woman around the time of the break-up. I think he is seeing her, but will never know because he would never tell me the truth. He denied there was anyone else involved. Its been 5 months of no-contact. I feel down and confused after seeing he is moving on, on social media. Although still proud of myself i have sustained no-contact

At my age..58, 59 in January, im too old for this crap. It was painful and heartwrenching. After two weeks, hes with her via online. She's local, and the families know each other. Hes done this to me once before and I took him back. He said we were exclusive and not to worry about him dumping me for someone else. He kept his online crap, so i catfished him. Long story short, he told me via text" come get the things you left,and im seeing someone, so no need to contact me anymore. Then he blocked me. I feel sorry for her, a leopard doesn't change his spots. Hes a walking limerance. Then he moves on to his online exploration ( behind her back) keeping her around cuz he doesn't want to be alone. Emotionally cheating.. he's miserable and misery loves company

I’m willing to bet he’s been messing with her long before you were broke up and now he’s trying to throw it in your face. Can you talk to her? Can you ask her how long they’ve been seeing each other? How many times have you seen a 6 week relationship that ended well? This is classic narcissist behavior as is love bombing which he is probably doing to her right now grooming her for taking care of his needs…

I wouldn't know if ex moved on fast cut her completely all I know is she liked the freedom to start dating someone new. Walked away from her for wanting to keep me in her life as whatever. Ridiculous! Wants the cake and eat it, too. Just want you to know Susan that I was in your show "Letting go of someone you love" and I remember you answering my Superchat telling me I'll get over it. Giving the advice of "Be excited for the future" I want to thank your wisdom and with therapy 2 mos after I walked I am feeling a bit better each day and journey to self discovery is GOLD. Heal the healthy way people. It does take time. Pain is necessary. But as you move farther from it, it does get a bit easier. Feeling more comfortable on my own each day.
