If you run a Facebook Page from the EU or EEA, you’ll need a Privacy Policy. Facebook now requires this in order to stay compliant with the EU’s GDPR.
The Page Insights feature on Facebook Pages uses cookies to collect personal information from people who visit your page. Because of this collection of information, a Privacy Policy becomes legally required. Facebook passes this requirement on to Page admins.
What should you disclose in your Privacy Policy?
- Let users know that you and not Facebook are collecting personal information as the operator of the Page
- Let users know how you use and collect that information through Page Insights
The Facebook Page Insights Controller Addendum Requests form is provided by Facebook for you to use if EU visitors make data rights requests of your Page.
