The opening route you give is actually pretty similar to how I would play the game normally.

My route is similar but I also include the desert cave before I make my way to the dam.

I never knew about the come in the sewer, I alway hit kak 1st then if I have bombs I check mini moldorm then Hyrule castle/sewer. Gonna try sewer 1st next seed

the lamp you have at the start in the sewers is zelda lamp that's being used is how i think of it cause it always has light even in a normal run of the game

damn, i was running it blind and now i have pretty much every item besides the lantern and fire rod and im only able to finish 1 dungeon without those lol (also i cant swim)
