See my second review after sleeping on this mattress for six months - • My Wool Mattress, The ... .
In this episode I take delivery of a custom made mattress from Bulgaria, eschewing the normal route of walking into a shop and buying a traditional mattress.
This mattress is 100% wool filling and the fabric is 51% cotton and 49% linen, three simple ingredients that help towards having a better and safer sleep. It turns out to be the cheapest of the alternative mattresses that I could find.
The mattress itself cost me £350 and another £80 for standard delivery from Bulgaria.
I also (because the mattress was expensive) sought after a cheap and easy solution for keeping an air gap under the mattress, not being a handy man I found a cheap fix from Ikea.
The bed is going to provide better healthy sleeping for me and in the process I'm doing my bit for the environment! Will you consider one? Let me know in the comments.

the kitties are so cute. they will be on the new bed in no time. better for them too because chemicals can make animals sick just like it does humans. all of them will feel better because of his choice.

My wife and I have been thinking about mattresses made of natural materials. At home in Japan, we use futons so chemicals are still a concern. Here in US, we have a queen size western style bed. It’s difficult not be concerned about chemicals when we spend about 7 hours every day sleeping on that mattress.

Its actually about the same price for me because living in HK. But I'm extra happy it's environmentally friendly. Glad I could help and Home of Wool are great! Thanks for the reply Brother. I have a topper on order from House of Wool. It is for an Organic latex mattress . Plan to get a wool mattress for guests and myself to sleep on from time to time.

Good information. Great prices. Thank you for the review. How is the mattress now? How does this compare to a cotton futon (my futon settled in and feels like sleeping on a hard rock), so wondering if wool is going to feel similar. Thank you!

My mattress is custom sized but basically a twin size mattress. Home of Wool will custom make one for you as well.

Hey Jonathan! Love this video and considering a wool mattress. After 3 months sleeping on it how does it feel? Is it soft or firm? Has it gotten firmer as it's compressed? I know the Lonset will help with pressure points as the slats give with your movement but I'm really curious to know how you are liking it!

Hey there. To prevent compression you need to flip the mattress over like a pancake every month or so. I haven't noticed the centre of the mattress compressing either. The mattress is so flexible you have the ability to mush the contents around by distorting it's shape or you could just put it more wool yourself. I should do a follow up video at the six month mark. Thanks for making me think about that.

Does the bed need to be flipped or fluffed or beaten outside or something?

I flip it every month. It's too solid to be beaten. Instructions come with the mattress to tell you to put it out in the sun now and again.

No. It comes with a pouch of lavender or lemon grass. I can't remember, if you use it it's supposed to deter moths. Beetles are Beetles regardless. :-p

I am looking to buy a mattress for my daughter that will eventually need a kid mattress , and the only shop I found that seem really Natural was Home of wool :) so glad to find a video about them . what model do you have shikibuton or normal mattress style? and how many inch you got ? how soft/supportive is it ? so difficult to make a choice online ,I have no clue what wool bed feels like and there is not many videos 😂 ?

Hi. It's just a custom twin mattress. Home of Wool will just make it for you with the dimensions you want. It's just linen and wool for the entire thing! They will make any size you need tailored to the room also if you give then pictures so they can understand the environment it's in. The wool is the filling only. It's so comfortable :-)

Smells like sheep shit? That means they didn't wash out the shits and rinse well. That is not very good. Clean Natural lamb wool smells a little bit animal and it is mild and tolerable and it will go away in a few days. I was thinking to order as you did but now I worry about their hygiene which changes my mind. I guess I should research more. Hoping you reply your honest opinion for me.
