To stop the hobs and stove frame bouncing we put collapsible silicone bowls (dog bowls from the reject shop) over the hob, then put the frame on, then lay tea towels then close the lid 👍🏾
Cam for the swift stove fully agree, my solution was a hand towel between the grill and top and I use a child lock to keep the lid secure. So far so good. Hope this helps. 😊
"I'm wrapping it up" 😂 Had the same experience with the swift stove top. Ended up getting a new and improved "grate/top" under warranty that fixed the issue, re glued the seal myself and got a new ignitor under warranty that needed fitting by a gas fitter.
Hey kids, don't change the way you do things that's what makes your channel so good to watch. Down to earth and enjoyable the wife and I love it. Best wishes stay well.
You have both been lovely to deal with. You have answered my questions, made recommendations and just been prepared to share. You are wonderful young people who are enjoying your life in a measured way. Definitely fabulous examples to younger people about what you can achieve if you believe in what you want. Happy to support you in your quest. A very informative episode, thank you. 💐🥂
Always love all your videos , love how natural you both are as you seem to work well together . Continue to do what you do and how you do it both family travel and Cam’s camping trips .
Hey guys great episode, glad to hear Brodie will recover, my brother's little girl has had juvenile arthritis, and she has had to have constant treatment for it for the last 10 years, so that's great news. Thanks for sharing your amazing trip, my wife and I are planning a similar trip next year so we are watching everything we can, but we really enjoy your channel, cheers!
Cheer Peter! Sorry to hear your Niece has suffered with it, it’s a horrible condition! Appreciate the kind words, hope you enjoy your trip as much as we did, it’s beautiful country with plenty to do and see!
Great trip wrap up video. Very happy you have an answer for Brodie, nothing worse than not being able to help your kids out 😞 Love your honesty about things, places and family life. Great planning Tiff 👍
Maybe a tip for those asking to make life easier when reversing the van, if you grab the steering at the bottom instead of the top and pull the wheel in the direction that you want the back of the van to go it makes it easier. 🤔
That was a good wrap up. I enjoyed following you guys along on the trip. I'm looking forward to the Kennedy Ranges series, it's on our bucket list. I've already got a trip planned that way. It's just waiting to get the time off and get things sorted. Keep up the good work.
I’m so pleased Brodie is improving. That would have been incredibly stressful for you all. Very thankful it’s not RA🙏🏼 We have a Thetford stove top and grill. All the rubbers are still working and the removable metal grill is very heavy and solid, so maybe it’s a brand thing. Your list of issues looks like ours did but they all eventually get sorted but it shouldn’t happen🥺 Really enjoying this series. You both come across chilled and easy to watch.x
Great trip guys. Raw and natural is the way to go. That and the family relaxed way you do your videos is why we watch and enjoy your content, plus being WA people. We love WA but the whole country is pretty good. Glenn in Bunbury.
I haven’t watched he whole video yet, but wanted to comment about reactive arthritis. I had this once, following a viral throat infection. It mainly affected my knees and ankles - I literally couldn’t walk and was in agony for weeks. The good news is that it was about 15 years ago and has never caused me an issue again. PS: I’ve been loving the whole series - keep up the great effort and content. Thank you. Regards, Jeff 👍😀🐟
@@WildTouring For sure, I was so surprised a virus could result in such a condition. Have a great weekend. Just about to watch today’s video! Best wishes.
Backing over my right shoulder is easier! I've heard so called "experts" teach backing this way. Whenever I'm at a site that requires a left side reverse, I end up feeling like a complete newbie - and there's always a crowd watching when this happens! My offsider and I have backing down to hand signals only. Watching people shout at each other while they're backing their van is a holiday sport and just plain embarrassing. We're lucky in WA. There's still places you can go that aren't so busy. Shhh, don't tell anyone! I'll take your recommendation on avoiding the NT while this current van popularity phase is on. Great episode C&T. Pleased to hear Brodie is feeling better. I'm looking forward to more episodes. Safe travels.
Hey wild family, no long winded comment here just going to say that I always love your vids and this series has been grouse to watch and thank you. Also awesome to hear that your little fella is all good 😊
Fantastic news about Brodie, Fantastic realworld analysis of a massive trip, both cost and reasons for the costs, well done. Spooky Oricom is listening
Our Swift oven is the same as yours (but a few years older) and the short ‘legs’ on the rack covering the burners actually slot into holes on either side of the stove top - there are no rubber stoppers. Can you remove the stoppers and drill a couple of holes for them to sit in?? 🤷♂️Ours doesn’t move!! 👍
Thank you so much for sharing, my wife and I both really enjoy your channel. Oh and Cam we totally get the busy thing, we tend to say that places are far too peopley.
Cheers Paul! Yeah I think a lot of us got into camping because we enjoy a bit of serenity- but apparently so does the rest of the country haha 😂 It is great to see soo many Aussies enjoying their own backyard though! Love that!
Great info, I agree the Safety Dave camera are not good. I like the DO35 hitch story, my story is a bite different, I couldn't get the hitch on the tow pin until I realized that that the stabilizers legs were still down.
I’m with you Tiff, the passenger roll is intense - kid supervision, food provision, bin for the kids 😂. If we switch around I feel like I still end up doing that roll, but from the driver’s seat
The East and West Macs, palm valley and rainbow valley and old Ghan to Mt Dare are great places to see. Our boys were late primary school and they loved it!
great vid and run through of the trip. Love the authenticity of your vids. Keen to know what Tiff was drinking out of that huge cup 🤣. Keep them coming.
Great wrap up. We're having a similar situation with our 13yr old, has a sore ankle for more than 12 mths, x-rays, ultrasound,MRI all clear, next appointment is with Rheumatologist in bunbury.
@WildTouring we have an appointment with Dr Walsh in 2 weeks so 🤞 we get some help/answers. Hopefully Brodie is starting to get better, so hard when they are younger and cant tell you where/what/how its hurting. At 13 my daughter is ready to punch the next professional that says "all clear" 😪
Poor thing! ☹️ nothing worse than seeing your kids in pain! Can only imagine how hard it’s been for her at 13, when all her friends are running around, playing sports etc.
Really enjoyed the Q&A guys...informative and had us in stitches quite a few times 😂 Thanks for answering my question re grey water. Have a new van with a tank and a trip to Tassie coming up but wasn't sure about the do's and don'ts. Great to hear you've got some answers about Brodie and he's on the improve 😊
I have had 6 vans and I can say without hesitation, the Willow is by far the best. Like yours our van had a few teething problems but we lived in it for a year without any major issues, having said that, I understand you were not treated very well. Good luck with it in the future
Cheers mate, likewise! Wasn’t worried about the minor teething issues (it’s actually in for warranty right now for another long list of those), but i’d call brakes not working on pick up, leaks in the wall/ flooding and rewiring major issues on a brand new 100k van! Maybe our expectations are too high!
Great vlog guys. Man what a stressful time With brodies condition. We First time vanners and wife and I are about to embark on this same trip, except we going to port Augusta and up. The info you provide is a great help 🫶
To manage pain alternate supermarket ibuprofen (same as nurofen but cheaper ) and paracetamol also from supermarket. There is a brand nuromol which is equivalent of one ibuprofen and one paracetamol, DO NOT EXCEED THE PACKET TABLETS PER DAY INSTRUCTIONS
Hey Cam, My ears pricked up when you mentioned next Year. Would love to show You and Mates through Northern Simmo. out to Surveyors and Geo Centre. Of course along with all the normal places in the Simmo. PS Great Video's...
So glad you got some answers about Brodie. We have the same issues with our Swift oven/ stove combo. Seals falling off, 2 burners not working, lid hinges broke etc. I thought it would be better quality. Great vid guys. Can you tell me how long it took you from Perth to Yulara? We are doing SA in 5 weeks and would love to start that way!
We stick a tea towel under the lid on our swift cooktop to stop it moving around when travelling. Not impressed with the cooktop and have had the grill thing replaced once. The stainless steel is pretty thin cheap crap.
Got to say I love these videos and really enjoy listening to you both. Am glad you are happy if we see you out and about as it must be a bit odd and you probably enjoy your privacy as well. As a local to Perth we are also planning a 2025 lap and are still sorting what we will do with our house...sitters etc. If you don't mind me asking (understand if you don't want to answer) what will you do? Cath
Cheers Cath! For our 2020 6mnth lap we left the house vacant, just had fam checking up on it occasionally. For our 2025 lap I think we’ll probably have to rent it out. It’s so expensive to travel at the moment, we’ll need that rental income to put a dent in the mortgage repayments, while we burn through the savings travelling 😂
I probably would! As long as you’ve got decent tyres, run suitable pressures and drive to conditions it won’t be an issue. Locals are driving two wheel drive sedans in and out of communities every day.
Hey guys, How was the road from Perth to Alice? Looking to do it next year and haven’t found anyone I know that’s done it haha. Keep up the great videos 🤙🏻
The road was in great condition when we did it, we talk about it more in this video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Cwd4kv2LRIo.htmlsi=jomcCu6AEEfMRZfp and there’s a wrap up on road conditions at the end of that vid. 🙂
you are right arthitisus can be an extermly painful condition. i have had it for 40 years and there are times i just cant do a thing . just remember that it is the last place that you look that you find the things you are looking for
Don’t know if definitely correct but recently a fellow traveller told me that you can be fined for letting grey water empty from your van while driving down the road.
Any truck driver well tell you reversing a trailer is always easier on the right side eg like you said look out the door mate our van come with 4 safety Dave cameras
Excellent point and something many people are not aware of. Bacteria levels can actually become dangerous. It is good practice to always dump grey water into black water disposal points.
Yeah good point, WA health and Water Corp consider it black water after 24hrs. So not a drama for an overnighter 👍🏼 But literally have only ever had to do this twice in a lifetime of camping!
Better off just getting a cheap generator if you want to rin aircon non stop 24/7 off grid. Cheap in comparison to more batteries and solar. To the bloke who asked about adding more battery and solar to run aircon longer.
Good and bad with star link. If you are planning on getting away. Then everyone spends all the day on the phone and ipad instead of chatting to each other and getting out and doing stuff it's bad. Check weather, news and book accommodation it's great
As for devil’s marbles . I was just fascinated by the size of the boulders and how they were stacked ….. like, just how??? But seen it once wouldn’t stop off again
