as a young woman, i love hearing you talk about touchy subjects. it makes me feel more open to opening up not only to myself but to other people about subjects that i find need to be talked about.

I’m so glad you mentioned River Road, I feel so passionately that more people need to read/listen to that book! It’s just brilliant, and it got me through an incredibly dark time in my life. Listening to your book helped me settle down when things felt too big for me to handle. I thank you so much for that, and for sharing your experiences, your creativity, your pain, and your strength. I truly am so grateful Mary. It’s gorgeously written. Also, fun fact - when I read the book “where the Crawdads sing” I couldn’t think how the main character must have spoken because I didn’t know the accent because I’m from England, and then I realised it’s set where you’re from! North Carolina! So from then on, the whole book was narrated by you in my head 😂 it immersed me so much more. So thank you for that too, hahaha.

Did you ever work in a library as a page or a librarian? One of my fave asmrtists Latte Asmr went from making a video almost every day to now, only posting about once a month, sometimes once every 2 months. But she'll do a high-quality 1 - or 2-hour video. Although we miss her posting, we understand it's a lot of work, and it's not always possible. We are perfectly content watching old vids until she posts again. Will be the same for you mary ❤️ even if you posted once a year, we'll still be here.

Love the mention of welding as a good career option!!! 4 year degrees have been so heavily pushed for so long that vocational training has been so heavily swept under the rug! Great career options out there that don’t involve going into debt for a degree that won’t get you much in return!!!!

23:46 😂 this sounds like my set up when I had to do a video job application a few years ago. I got through to the next round but god knows how!!

I like unstreamed format because I too get distracted by the feed questions and I turn it off but then I feel like I am missing soomething. Ha

BTW I knew a lot of your answers-followed you from start and I learned a lot from your first eye opening book.and growing up I knew I just would not stay in my hometown either.

My son didn't go to college. He chose to go to a technical school for welding. He just graduated and got a great job. Welding is a really good career.

Can you make a video going over exercises? Like maybe print out instructional images and over explain the name of the exercises and muscles used. Maybe go more in depth about the work out classes that you attend? It sounds like you are passionate about working out and it would be so relaxing!

Mary I'm just watching this video and I have to say that for me personally I feel that you should film the way that you want to. These videos are your creations and you should not feel pressured. These videos are a privilege for us to view, not something that we have any right to demand.

I totally understand how livestreams would make one feel bad. It's more exposed, stressful, and just a bad format for those that do it.. Don't feel like you have to cater to that. Just film it at your leisure. It's good enough.

Live streaming would be overwhelming, can’t blame you.

ASMR in a livestream format would be rough because God forbid there is a loud noise or something... it would disrupt the whole point of it hahahaha!

I really don't like live stream videos and even your fab store walk throughs I prefer them when you do voiceover afterwards. Agree about not going to Uni degrees are not worth the paper they're written on now at least here in uk as standards are so low now pretty much anyone can get one! I kind of thought you collected jewellery 😉☺The warning about mean people is true but sticks and stones.... never understand why people are bothered by opinions of people like that who they don't know and will never meet. What heppened to being resilient? Hope you get to Scotland the Highlands and islands are beautiful. My favourite place is Applecross and the mountain pass to get to it a nd love Loch Carron. Avoid going in summer though the midges and their bites are horrible!
