Hey Montana player here! Good job with the video and thanks for talking about our scene! I just wanted to add little extra information about it. While he absolutely deserves the title of our best player for how he dominated the scene for so long, Ogu actually retired from smash a couple months ago. Also, MarkSDking isn’t inactive, he just doesn’t travel because he lives very far from where most smash tournaments in Montana are hosted.

South Dakota Rep here, you got it spot on! Just as a heads up, the state is split in two parts; east and west river. East river is most consistent and the largest scene out of the two but there is a scene across the river in Rapid City/Spearfish. Their #1 is Grizzhawk, a bowser jr player. Also, fun fact, the amount of bowser jr players to total competitors in this state is insane.

as someone new to the game in new mexico, i can say fizz has come up a few times and only good things have been said about him, hes a legend here

Even though hes not close to the skill of Shadic or Muteace, Skinny the Pooh is a crazy Mario main and I actually met him last year when he competed in our school district tournaments and he was one of the few cool players from one school that was particularly toxic Also he beat Leo so :)

Really like the video, cool to see some stuff I was less familiar with. As an upstate New York resident I wanna offer some info about the region that isn't really known unless you live there. The "upstate NY pr" represents despite the name an area that comprises less than half of upstate NY. There are a bunch of different regions with various rankings as there are distant little hot spots that are able to host scenes. The part of upstate imoderz is from had a better player for a good part of 2023 continuing from 2022 named Connor but he played steve and became semi-active after that part of NY banned steve. But even while his in region appearances became rare and worsened without his main he always performed better out of region. (though moderz hasn't entered a single tourney in 2024 so is inactive to a degree too). I'd say the 2 best players in upstate NY (Westchester is not upstate) are Sassyflygon and Average Alex. The 2 live far enough apart to where they aren't ever playing and exist in entirely different local scenes but both have dominated their local scenes over the span in this video with Alex having been the best in NY's capital city Albany for years. I think Sassy is the best upstate player however cause while the local dominance is there for both sassy has better results out of region including wins on players like peanut, doorstop, and timegear (the latter 2 playing ZSS and minmin respectively which are 2 of the hardest MUs for sassy's luigi).

Currently in Missouri, Luma has beat AK this pr season almost every time in bracket and Luma is our current number one, although AK has a higher global rank, Luma doesn’t travel as much and is consistently beating AK now which I think gives him the edge to AK rn

This video is funny for the midwest stuff Ironically if this video was worked on in just a slightly different period Indiana would’ve had a snake on the graphic too, there have been two separate snake players as our #1 in 2023 Funniest thing though is we have absolutely shifted, old smash 4 midwest titan Percy is back at it with Sora and is already #1 in the state after only grinding for like a year with him. Got 9th at Afterburner outplacing Deathspade as the furthest sora and taking out multiple top midwest players, including Ardeo, Roger, Woulphy, Yash (the one who sent Deathspade to losers), and barely losing a game 5 set vs Doorstop to miss out on top 8.
