All i ask from a reviewer is to be open and honest about the product. You don't have to trash it to get your point across when it doesn't live up to expectation. I also know that if you give negative review you may not get any gear to review from manufacturers. It's a fine line. I really enjoy the way you do your reviews and it's obvious you spend a lot of time making them look good for your subscribers. Keep up the good work.

Thank you very much, really appreciate your feedback, yes is really not so easy to be be fully open without getting nobody upset, as you said it’s a fine line but we do our best! For some reasons audio manufacturers are very sensitive, probably cause most of them are small companies.

I don't feel any sympathy for this manufacturer (Tekton) that immediately threatens with legal action when he doesn't like a review. This was not an incident by itself, but also done to other well regarded reviewers. Based on all the available details I fully understand why customers don't want to do any business with this company, regardless of their products. Nice to see that many reviewers unite and make a statement about this kind of bullying. Anyway MAD, it's not about quantity but quality and in that you always deliver. I'm looking forward to your next review. 👌

I keep hearing reviewers afraid to post negative reviews because manufacturer/distributors will cut ties or sometimes even ask the video to be taken down (see Erin's story). Maybe just a mention that product X was not to your liking is a compromise?

Negative reviews will compromise your relationship with the company and those love the product, you have to find the way to be honest and at the same time be professional, is not impossible but for sure not easy. As i said I don’t consider a subjective opinion something negative but if i find something negative about for example a bad smart app or similar, i will point it out. I think the key is about do it in a professional way!

In that case it wasn't a matter of taste. It had to do with measurements, so it's a much more objective situation. So not so much a mater of being professional or not or opinion. If you measure a speaker and it doesn't measure perfect should you not post it/ make a video about it? Plus he wasn't all that critical about it. Manufacturers have to be able to cope with good and not so good reviews, not just the good ones that sell your products. They should face the not so good ones as constructive criticism, and a way to improve. If they are afraid about them, then don't ask for reviews at all and tell the reviewing comunity not to to review their products at all. Maybe reviewr could try and dodge the bad ones by not posting reviews on the products at all but i think that's a waste of work. They could just say they didn't like the product if asked. But that comes to your first point - a product someone doesn't like can be a wonder to other person. I'd like it if you could review pro-ject speakerbox 5 ds2!

I completely agree with you, but what if the speaker is defective? You will find your self posting something that is not true, that’s why a first check with the manufacturer is important for both, I think the all situation could be handled much better, we all do mistakes and is never too late to fix them! To be honest let’s move on and hope to not see anymore someone bullying a reviewer, that’s really not acceptable! Btw love my Pro-Ject 5 S2 still have it, at the moment any plans to review the DS2 unfortunately.✌🏽

@@MadAudiofficial from what i can understand from the follow up there was a try to fix the issue but it was denied. Plus in the case of speakers i think it's hard that both the pair are defective. I get your point, but i disagree. I think contacting the manufacturers previously only creates more biases and feeds the distrust and misconceptions about reviewers. The thing the manuacturer had to do was sending a new set of not defective speakers and make the reviewer retract himself (if it was the case). Both prevously checking with manufacturers and them threatning reviewers creates the same effect of followers/ subscribers and potential customers not trusting the reviewer and the brand. It's a loose-loose situation.

@@JoseFerreira-zb7wh i get you point, to be honest i prefer subjective reviews, less problems and i can address the speaker to the right audience, but I understand also those need measures and objective reviews! One thing is clear from all this, review audio is nothing easy.

@@MadAudiofficial i prefer a mix of objective and subjective. Unless i really understand the reviewer's and have the same taste, it's really hard for me to base a purchasing decision on subjective alone. Understanding measurements gives a solid base to understand how a speaker actually sounds.

@@JoseFerreira-zb7wh some reviewers are too much biased by measures plus measures are not telling everything! A good mix of both measures and subjective is a good idea like also watching more than one reviewes to collect more data possible, never based a decision on only one or two reviews!

Your autofocus sucks. lol. Just kidding. Worse thing about all the stuff that went down was that the review wasn’t even negative. One possible imperfection was pointed out, and it was mentioned that it might not be noticeable… 🤦‍♂️

Yes I noticed that Autofocus was having difficult time, Panasonic! This Speaker manufacturer really could handle it in a much better way, he understood too late, but u know we do all mistakes and is never too late to apologise!
