Clearly this is the recording from the album Roses In The Snow made in 1979. The video doesn't sync up with recording. What a beautiful song. I want this sung at my funeral.
I'm a sound engineer. I think I can sync the audio with this video footage. It's just a matter to accurately slowing down one or the other till the tempos match.
I love Johnny Cash singing the bass part! If he wasn't unquestionably the greatest music artist ever, one might wonder why he is singing backup, to some degree. Great video, five starts, thanks for uploading it!

@@millerezra8 Baby, what I mean is: Eithey are lip-syncing to my favorite track from Emmylou's excellent 1980 album "Roses in the Snow" or somehow they possessed to mimic every single note of the album track including Marty Stuart perfectly duplicating Ricky Skaggs' mando lead _and_ Ricky's voice magically pouring from Marty's throat.
Ricky Skaggs is all over this album, singing and playing on bunch of the songs. Deff. Marty though, part of me wishes this was Rick... could use a little more energy that he would certainly supply. @DarthSeptic- Johnny wouldn't have been Johnny if he couldn't sing back up- especially because even while singing back up he's arguably the one in charge here.
Hey 776imp, what's going on here! As others have pointed out, it's Marty Stuart, not Ricky Skaggs. Johnny Cash is singing a very bloated, soulless version of the great River Jordan - with several other singers, none of whom are EmmyLou. This is a very clumsy farce.
This video is actually not of them singing Jordan, that's why it seems the artists are not in sync. Do a search and you'll find the color version of the original video.
It’s ok with me, love seeing them stand there and play while hearing the song. Maybe they can get their lips in sync to the music over on the other shore.
