I was very disappointed to know that the hours from shorts are not considered as watch hours for enabling Monetization. That is so wrong. Let’s all of us ask RU-vid to change that.
These requirements over 1 year old. I am at the 500/3000 level, just need about 700 watch hours to ad revenue. My goal is to reach that by the end of September!

Don't forget to enjoy creating content even when monetization is your goal. I dont know how fast faith-based channels gets love around here but I'm in it to win it. @@Real_Rizz I have but when I put time and money into a video, youtube for whatever reason targets my channel and takes the video down. I just did a video on a game and spent a bunch of money on getting it edited and I got a copyright block because of 30 seconds of music that played in the background yet when I search the game, everyone else was allowed to upload the video.
@@samurai_JD55 then you’re missing something. Research people who’s doing what you wanna do. Horror game tubers. Check out their video editing style. Tags, description. Understand your target audience. You only fail if you give up bro
@@nature.dream.paradise hello mate! I think it is attainable. You just have to upload videos daily during that period, and of course make your Channel grow before that for the algorythm to push you videos up
A good thing that Should Have Been Mentioned is that Watch Time Hours from Shorts add up to those 4000 Public Hours needed for monetization - so this is good news for us all!

@@SmartphoneSpecs360 Well i just checked and my public watch hours calculated by RU-vid are much different than my total watch hours, so I don't think this is true at all. I'm not saying you're incorrect, but do you have some sort of verification of this?
@@OneMansOpinionOnSports I have very few views on my long-form videos. In the last 1.5 months I started uploading shorts often and 90% of them went over 1000 views - there's no way my long-form videos could have reached 580 watchtime hours (in the last 28 days, in my analytics dashboard) by themselves - there are so many watchtime hours thanks to shorts. These hours also reflect in the Earn team, in RU-vid Studio (although in this tab, there is a slight 2-3 day delay). You can check this channel from which I am writing now to make a comparison with yours. One reason why you might not see big differences in your watchtime hours (due to shorts) is because you haven't posted enough shorts lately.
@@OneMansOpinionOnSports I have long form videos with poor views on this channel/account from which I am writing; but my analytics show roughly 600 watch hour in the last 28days. There's no way my long form videos could do that, since they are not lengthy and have few views (I am speaking from experience from other YT channels). So the majority of those 600 hours come from shorts. I posted a lot in the last month and a half and 90% of them have over 1000views (that counts). The reason you might not be noticing differences is because you haven't posted enough shorts lately. But if you concentrate for a period of 1 months, with 15 shorts that get decent views, you would see a notable difference in the total watch time hours on the channel. I heard this info somewhere in 2023, when they changed the algorithm. The info about it is out there somewhere in a forum/article, but, indeed, hard to find due to search engines being not great. One of the problems of RU-vid is that it deliberately prevents your videos from being seen more. For example, 80% of those who have been offered your videos will watch your videos until the end, however, they have set a ceiling for viewing and just when the rate of viewing the videos is increasing, they suddenly reduce it to 0. It takes a lot of patience to grow in this market and overcome the ridiculous rules of RU-vid.
Why isn't the Actual number of Shorts Views shown in the page isn't updated in the Monetization tab? I'm way passed 2M views now but Monetization tab only shows like 200k. Anyone know what to do?
i have over 140,000 subscribers & RU-vid was my full time job since 2010, and NOW im about to become homeless due to youtube, soooo all my time, effort, blood , sweat and tears down the drain all for nothing, all due to youtube changing up the website way to many times, youtube used to send out numerous notifications a day......now they only send out 3 a day, plus the algorithm is messed up as well, half my subs dont even get my videos anymore, its sad that this was my full time job & now i'll be homeless living in a tent in a couple of weeks! Unreal! as much as i love my subs and fans, it goes to show you that it doesn't matter how many subs you have in 2024!
I just signed up for the RU-vid affiliate marketing program. I've tried finding videos about it but haven't found anything. I started on june 17th I've had 23 orders so its bringing in revenue. I just wanted to learn more about this. I noticed big channels don't use RU-vids affiliate program. From what I've seen.

At 749 subscribers, I’m still not wanting or looking at monetization. That would destroy my reason in the beginning for posting videos . I’m here for the people that can’t see nature. I’ve been there where I had to watch videos from a hospital or any other place. Still far away and that’s fine.
You don't have to work on getting monetized for your own benefit. If you don't care about the money, at least consider donating it. Just let people know what the money you make goes into and they'll be happy for you for it. Of course you don't have to listen to me. Do what you think is right. I just thought I'd give an idea.
@@JPMario,my reasoning is to not get caught up in monetization+ in what I do or change my videos. If it’s for donating money, I can see doing that…thanks for the suggestion.

@@BeamBud17YT Sorry not what I meant. 2 Levels = Lower Tier YPP with Memberships (Not All Channels), Super Chats, etc and Higher Tier YPP with Full Monetization. 3K Watch Hours or 3M Shorts Views is Lower Tier. 4K Watch Hours or 10M Shorts Views is Higher Tier.
