Not gonna lie. I can't hate the hustle of Omni. Cable companies have insane prices and rip people off so someone ripping them off in turn is satisfying to me.
Cable companies probably use some of that extra cost strictly because of us pirates. Or the whole streaming and sharing accounts thing. Kinda like how some stores upmark just based on shoplifting so they still turn the same profit margins.
@@insanospaz Honestly at this point it's difficult in the modern era to live without internet. It should just be free. Maybe that's a radical idea though, I suppose.
@reapiu8316 Yeah no, murderers don't serve for one count of second degree murder despite murdering two people, same thing must apply to the rest of the crimes
The American justice system is notoriously harsh. Way to high punishments at one point higher punishments become ineffective. Idiots say to get harsher sentences. It just ends up being very annoying cause if you accidentally do one bad thing you get a very big fine or even jail time. Invest in mental hospitals crazy people
I just can't believe this guy formed an actual company just so he could cosplay more realistically as a police officer! If he had put in just a fraction of that effort to graduate from the police academy he could have been an actual police officer 😂😂 but it's probably a good thing for the public he never got a real badge. I wonder if he did try to get into the police academy and he was denied because he failed the psychological exams
But he's never the top guy.. he's always hidden behind other people so that doesn't make him actually countable as such for it. He's too smart to get caught for it.
tbh its really crazy to me that the first guy was raided by the FBI for just taking cable from companies and yet they just let sex trafficking rings operate like its nothing. really shows you how money trumps over people's actual lives
Yeah for sure, these corporations hold a massive amount of power and were looking to make an example of anyone they could. I personally don't care at all, but money talks. I remember gears TV in the good ol days of Kodi, I never paid for it because I was only really interested in free content. He was one of the very few who ran the exact same schemes through the cable cutting movement.
A lot of those car crash videos are so blatantly deliberate that it’s hard to imagine anyone thinking they were actual accidents. That poor child needs to be taken away from them.
It blows my mind that Jeremy barely got a slap on a wrist for something insanely dangerous, but Omni gets slammed for copyright. Just goes to show our countries priorities. If you’re “taking” money from them they’ll slam you.
So you'd be ok with someone taking your shit and give it out for a fee that goes to his pocket? Everyone saying oh it's just copyright infringement... It's only that unless it affects you, then you'll be the biggest bitch crying about what's yours.
Sure, doesn't mean Omi isn't also a villain. Have you seen the comment section on his videos? Dude has thousands of total rubes talking about what an inspiration he is while he sells drugs, steals cable and then uses the money from it to act like a baller. Meanwhile the impressionable children and idiotic adults that make up his fanbase are acting like he is some role model to follow in the footsteps of. Omi is a piece of shit. I watched my father break his back as a boiler technician, struggle his entire life and never once did it cross his mind to break the law or steal from someone. Guys like him are the real role models, not some obese moron that is so scared of real work that he would defraud millions of dollars and then blow it on expensive cars and fancy watches. Letting guys like Omi continue to do what they do is a net negative on society because of the impressionable idiots that follow in his footsteps.
The justice system values money over human life. Are whole civilization currently values money over human life and don’t even get me started on animal life’s. It’s fuked up
It's common on China and other Asian countries to do the same tbh. People will jump in front of cars on purpose just to get paid, as in China especially they full just force you to pay the person without properly investigating. Times are changing now since that scam has been revealed to the world and they actually investigate a "tiny" bit before forcing them to pay the scammer
Honestly, it's a sad, sad joke that Omi would face that much time over something so silly and honestly deserved in this climate. It's bullshit that crime is considered more severe than something like child molestation. Clown world. Hope his life is okay after all this upheaval.
Blu3 Ghos57 was the one that pissed me off the hardest. That is actual psychopathic behaviour and they should've been locked up for way longer then that.
Especially the mum. 90 days in prison for putting hundreds of strangers lives in danger and her own newborn child. If I went outside and kicked a child in the head right now, I'd probably get more than 90 days
What makes the car crash scam even worse is that they did it in 2020. How many people they crashed their cars against were already struggling with money due to the pandemic? Imagine yourself in the financial situation you were in 2020, having to deal with a car accident.
he stopped dealing drugs to steal from corrupt companies instead? And used the money to build his family a house? The man is a hero! just got a little too caught up in the money.
@@迷因訪客667it should have gone back to 85 years as soon as he violated the terms of his parole, but honestly I think that time would be better served in a mental health facility and not prison.
I feel bad for Omi. He never got a chance as a kid and refused to be a drug deal which is menace to society. Instead he scammed the scammers. Cable companies target old people. They go door to door and harass to get old people sign up. Hope he makes a come back.
All I can say about car accidents is to always get a police report and tell your side of the story as confidently and accurately as you can. There was a dude who straight up just recklessly merged into my vehicle when I was right next to him, and he destroyed my side view mirror. Got the police report, and he got charged with reckless driving. His wife tried to gaslight me at the scene and all of this stuff, and I just told her to sit and wait for the police, who will collect all necessary information and act as a moderator. I'm about 80% sure they were trying to pull an insurance scam, and probably just thought I'd never get a police report.
Man I wish I had this advice when I got in a car crashed. People speeding down a hill hit my larger vehicle so hard that I nearly flipped and ended up on the other side of the road. I was the only one who went to the hospital in ambulance but didn't have the spine to contest their claims that I was at fault and they were injured since they had a baby with them. I've been without a car for the past few years in a place with no public transportation. I'm literally stuck at my apartment. Can't get a job, the only way I can get groceries is through delivery. I guess I'm lucky to be on disability now.
Nah cuz I absolutely respect Omi's hustle. Cable companies have insane prices that are absolutely not fair. Dude got arrested because he was earning money by letting people get a better price instead of crazy prices from multi-million dollar corporations. 514 years for copyright violations is outrageous considering second degree murder is ~30 years on average and sexual exploitation of a child is 15-30 years.
Lol more like 2-5 years for chomos. The government loves protecting pedos meanwhile if you're stealing money from the rich they give you life in prison. Shows you who's in charge.
WELCOME TO CAPITALISTS STATE OF MURICA. Lol, imagine not beeing able to download pirated SW, games,series,movies..... ahahahaha...land of the free ahahahaha XD usefull idiots all around XD
The car accident scam thing scares me because it makes me wonder how many other people could potentially be doing this. That and he had his kid in the car
I read about a similar scam in the 1950s. Folks would deliberately brake in front of trucks and sue the trucking companies for the resulting damage and injuries. Yikes!
Not only was Jeremy Dewitt impersonating a police officer, but he was impersonating a bad power hungry one. Being a danger on the road for no reason, having power trips on random people.
@@cherryjasper1728 i don’t know. I’ve never dealt with the police myself, but I respect their work. But then again I’m from Canada so maybe cops are nicer in my area?? Maybe not, I don’t know.
Lmao there's months worth of DeWitte videos to watch! That dude basically has his own show. His whole life on YT for us all to see. I love how dumb and unaware he is.
IMO, he didn't do his level of stupid "justice"...Jeremy was the saddest story of them all; Could have been a legit millionaire if not for his ego...He didn't know it @ the time, but his company was being proposed statewide in Fla before it all went down...All he had to do was apologize to a detective's wife, and stay in the office banging his assistant, while cashing the checks...Literally, HAD IT MADE!!! The PD loved him( at first...) He would bring donuts, and kissed the right azzes...He had it ALL; 2 houses, a big boat, and a fleet of cars/motorcycles...ALMOST felt sorry for Jeremy...
You've never seen that before? Wow.. I have seen many ppl set their people up with a place to live before they go aeay. most criminals commit crimes for their families.
Yeah, setup a fake business to account for your large drug distribution like everyone else. I had a friend in the late 90s that was doing that with a Clothing company. Even paid some very big bands at that time to wear the clothing, I guess to make it seem like the brand was popular so he could claim false sales, expenses, etc.
Kinda respect the first dude's hustle. Grew up poor,, became a drug dealer, got busted, and found a "legal" way to get rich. He's a flawed person but I see where he's coming from
@@jonathaningram8157 Hence my quotation marks. For a long time, he was in a legally grey area. He eventually flew too close to the sun and got burnt. He has to be at least a little smart to figure out and do what he did.
He didn't deserve prison time. Look at Logan Paul. Scams millions of dollars from the average person and NOTHING happens to him. No charges ever. Omi streams some cable TV to other people at a price and all of a sudden he has a massive FBI warrant and gets 6 years in prison. Fucking bullshit. This countries legal system is ridiculous. Don't even get me started on rapists and child molesters.
Ups to Omi. I actually thought his plan wasn't half bad. Stealing from large companies that overcharge customers and giving it back at a much cheaper price. Only the companies lose, and I'll never shame anyone for creating a situation where big corpos lose.
the problem is he made money off of it, its likely if he was just pirating and handing out cable tv for free it woulda been way longer for him to be caught. although i agree, cable companies and ISPs blow chunks
I can't really be mad at that dude either. He was only charging what we pay for Netflix NOW to share content all over the world to people who couldn't afford cable. And bruh, 500 years for copyright and tax fraud? There are serial killers who don't get that kind of time. I hate America
@PandaMonium92827 there really needs to be a strong line drawn between violent and non-violent crimes during sentencing. It is truly sad sending someone to jail meanwhile also making him pay the fines and restitution. I have a feeling he got the message having to move his family and needing to pay almost $60mil.
Sounds like Omi did nothing wrong, other than getting caught. Unless there’s some sorta deeper information about how he hurt people, he’s got my full support. Fuck cable companies.
@@RanialsAwesome legally wrong, yes. morally wrong, absolutely not. the law and morals are not always the same. dont ass kiss big companies. he stole from the rich and gave to the poor. nothing wrong about that.
Jeremy Dewitte taught me one important thing...always ask for a lieutenant, always. But honestly it is amazing he wasn't ever attacked by anyone in Florida while doing that
The last guy was facing a harsher punishment for tax fraud then he was for impersonating a police officer and failing to reregister as a s*x offender. The IRS can be scary man.
Nahhh Omi had it right; cable companies are a racket, especially in areas like mine where there’s almost a monopoly for one specific company who does whatever they want. That his last action was making sure his family was good before he went in like… That tells me everything about his character. I hope he comes back
Considering all the Twitch watch parties and all the shit they get away with- yeah, Omi's logic really isn't all that bad and it's kind of interesting that a lawyer didn't try to draw that same conclusion.
You didn't mention that Dewitte was also protected by bent senior cops, one cop lost his job after he arrested Jeremy after a senior officer told him to leave jeremy alone and another cop got reduced in the ranks for the same thing, i think both cops are suing the police force now.
So it’s okay to streak millions in profits from them? He wasn’t doing it out of morale outrage or to help people afford it. He was in it to make money. If anything, he’s worse than the cable networks that at least put in the work .
RU-vid has shown us that there's a two-tiered ToS/Community Standard. One tier applies to people like Onision, Ssniperwolf, Logan Paul etc, and the other tier applies to everybody else. IE If you make a LOT of money for RU-vid, they will look the other way, protect you, and let you break the rules.
@@Brodiesmh Yes... you do... If a 13yo can scam YOU and take 5...10k... imagine what that person can do with 25... 30 years old and 10 15 years of experience as scammer? You have to be helded accountable of BS.
The only way people will face due consequences, is if you take them in to your own hands. Don’t rely police to get there in time or the judge to do the right thing; be a man, get in shape, and rely on the only person who really cares about you. Yourself.
what i love about fake cops is, they put so much effort into "looking like a cop" they could have literally just gone through police academy. Many cities it lasts 9 months and is FREE if you stay with the city for X years afterward.
Tbh the very first one i dont mind it a lot, Tried a new leaf because of kids and Screw up bad because of tax evasion (Tbh the Cable thing is surprising that gets up to 500+ years.. Brutal. But i honestly do see me using his services if i was desperate or trying to use something cheap/withing budget so i honestly not complaining that he did that)
That was past piracy though, if you're a pirate and you download something you're a pirate, if you're a pirate and you share something you're a pirate. If you buy something and then share it out for profit, you're no longer being a pirate.
Profiting off piracy is another matter. It's also the first thing you don't do if you don't wanna get fingered by the feds. Dude was an idiot on top of a greedy screw up, he made his bed.
85 years to 18 months is INSANE. If every criminal had a plea deal like that, they'd be home in ten days Edit: 85 years to 18 months, only to get back in jail and face up to 75 years is wild lmao
I find it hilarious that he wasted his chance that fast. I won’t be surprised if he gets another plea deal like first one then continues repeating the cycle all over again. Old habits die hard indeed
Shame cuz I actually like Omar a lot.. Im from Philly and I met him on numerous occasions. Super polite, down to earth and humble guy. Genuinely wanted to help people as well. Yeah, he is a flawed human, but I think Omar isnt a devious or bad as people make him out to be. I think he saw an opportunity to stop risking his life on the street, and took it, even though it wasnt legal. I know so many people on the streets of Philly who woulda done the same thing to leave that hood life, even if their was risks involved. And I dont pity Comcast or Amazon losing money..
He didn't seem very humble posting and flaunting all the things he bought with the money though. Don't take me wrong. I don't feel any sympath toward the cable companies, but it's not like this dude was doing this to help anyone, but himself.
VERY happy to see Gaskings being talked about, it completely flew under the radar when it happened in 2018. Ironically, his final upload before heading to prison was an escaping from police compilation.
I met the guy! Funnily enough, he lived in the same city as me, but I travelled all the way up to Essex for CarCon, which was at Dub Customs. Snowy as well, pretty fun day all things considered. I was a GasKings fanboy, put simply, and I'm honestly surprised he's out now. I wonder if I'll ever see him around town, might start wearing the snapback I've still got lol
@@sabersz Lmao that would be hilarious if you bumped into him wearing it. I saw him at AutoSport International 2018 just months before he was put away, the entire line of people waiting to do his meet and greet were just children, not that that was a surprise or anything.
ngl Omi is kinda a hero for ripping off the streaming and tv services. I'm also unsurprised that the guy that wanted to be a cop was a child sex offender.
I feel a lot more sympathy for Omi than I do for the rest of the list. I wouldn't even call him a scammer. He gave his customers the service they paid for.
Always remember that piracy is a service problem. Only reason omi was as successful as he was is because he offered a better service than whatever comcast/Amazon were offering
@ZanaranIsAGhoul right and they over charge like crazy and usually have a monopoly. Most places I live give you one choice of provider and they end up taking advantage of people's lack of knowledge on how it all works
the first story made me so mad... he had nothing, got everything, and just HAD to go on RU-vid? lmfao. Wtf is youtube money when you're making like 500k a year? 😂😊
The couple intentionally causing a crash for insurance fraud is already bad enough, but doing it again and again is a sign that they're insane. They need to understand how bad it is to be doing this
The most damning part of Jeremy Dwight's case happens at 31:33. As a resident of Florida myself I can confirm that it is a little-known fact that each and every uniformed officer is legally required to refer to every member of the public that they interact with as a fuckboy at least once, otherwise it is not considered a true detainment in court.
I'm no resident of Florida, but I think you forgot to also mention the compulsory banging of the hood of a car. I mean, nothing shouts 'professional policing' like randomly assaulting someone's vehicle for no apparent reason.
Just imagine how prison feels for someone like jeremey dewitte, someone addicted to faking authority. Now he has to ask for permission for almost everything, has less freedom than a child, has to hang out with the the thugs who are pretty much the opposite of police officers. I bet he is mad as hell. Hopefully this will teach him a lesson or two
There was a kid in my tiny town (about 500 population) who tried to impersonate police officers from the time he was probably 10 or so years old. It started with him directing traffic at events with a flashlight - like high school ball games, church events, weddings, funerals, etc. But it eventually ended up with him putting a light on his vehicle and stopping people. Our town is small enough where everyone knew him and knew he was harmless after they grasped the situation but I live in Arkansas - where the story of the Blue Light Rapist is still well-remembered - and people didn't care much for his antics. I guess he could have gotten into a lot of trouble and he'd been warned several times but the city cop (yes, singular) gave him a very stern speech and set him straight. I think the little dude has/had some kind of mental/developmental disabilities but he ended up growing up and starting work at a fuel company where he's in management - I reckon he's married and maybe even has a kid on the way now. I always think of him when I see police impersonator stories. But like with the guy in this video, what I don't understand is when people won't just give it up - they even get prison time but keep doing it.
Still a firm believer in never putting money up for anything you cant physically see or hold yourself. From supporting your local economy to not getting financially ruined by a DudeBro Paul.. That said if you're a fool easily parted from your money - that's on your sense of worth.
yeah i have alot of respect towards that guy. he had a terrible childhood with his parents turning to drugs and although he followed in his father’s footsteps at first he quickly turned his life around and did everything he could to provide for his family (even if it resorted to him going to piracy, which isnt really that bad imo) and when he got arrested he did everything he could to at least provide his kids a home so they wouldn’t be homeless. much respect to that guy for turning his life around and trying to give his kids a life better than the one he had growing up 🤍
See...this is the thing in the UK therr lot of erird things lile that buy bit of moon become a lord and fee others but there seen as joke gifts for kids for many parants that dont have time to make there own, funny how everyone went batshit crazy not getting the joke.
I have to say the worst kind of scammers about online are on Facebook,I've seen loads of posts from people stating she bought her son a playstation 5 but her son who was suffering from cancer and passed away and its upsetting her having the playstation 5 around so if any wanted it its theres and all you would need 2 do is send her the money to pay for shipping and it dont take a genius to tell what happens next, just wrong
I remember the DeWitt videos while he was still a "Florida 'Cop' oddity". After hearing about rapists and others also posing as cops, it became evident they need to be removed from the public. To this day, if a cop pulls me over, I don't shut off the car or open my window till I call the station to check. Our local police actually don't mind you doing this as long as you're not a Karen about it
@@NagitosWifeSpottyif you work as a cop you have to risk your life constantly. if you PRETEND to be a cop you only earn benefits. that's why people impersonate police officers
@@NagitosWifeSpottyHe likely doesn’t have the education or can’t pass the entrance tests. Also, he’s a convicted sex offender. He clearly just wants to be a cop to bully people under the guise of upholding law and order. I’ve seen some other footage of his antics and he’s a combative weirdo each and every time.
"Oh god not him again", my favorite line caught on Police Body Cam Footage to this day. The way he says it, the lack of an explanation - The viewer doesn't need to know why that cop is wary of Jeremy. We all have a Jeremy in our lives, and *this* is their Jeremy.
That is true. But one thing that isn't helping with this, which I mentioned earlier somewhere else, is the widespread mentality which encourages people to mock, degrade or humiliate people who were the victims of scams, under the pretense that if those people were silly enough to fall for a scam, they deserve to suffer to the bitter end. In addition to being somewhat callous & reprehensible, I would think this attitude just gives extra fuel to scammers for continuing their grift on innocent civilians of all stripes.
I just want to point out that polygraph tests are NOT accurate for telling lies, and can't be used as evidence in the court of law for this very reason. They are only useful in detecting stress. Jeremy likely knew this, as well as some of the ways one can easily fool the test (like by putting a tack in your shoe, or squeezing your sphincter muscle). In this way, he could frame himself as telling the truth. Luckily, Dr. Phil's team was also aware of this, and my guess is they lied about the results.
As much as everyone is praising Omi for sticking it to the cable companies, I can't feel bad for him. Charging people for content you pirated is HIGHLY frowned upon within piracy scene groups. Besides, if you were able to access his services, you were able to pirate the same content from other groups for free, no $20 charge needed. Dude did not care about sticking it to the cable companies and only cared about his own profits and scamming people. Want to stick it to cable companies? Download them from free services, not scammers like him.
1. Don't get greedy. 2. Don't get comfortable. 3. Pay taxes! These are the 3 main reasons people doing illegal activity get caught. Those tax laws and prison sentences can be a MoFo
@@jonathaningram8157 RITE!! I feel like that falls under #2 which should actually be comfortable and/or confident but still... Dude, YES!!! Like WTF is wrong with them kinda folks
Unless your a huge company and know the loop holes in place so you don’t have to pay taxes. Look at all the millionaire and billionaires that pay little to no taxes. He should have made a charity foundation to decrease any taxes own and get his money out of. That just one of the loopholes they may more. It just is average people don’t know all of them and don’t even realize the decreases taxes the wealthy have to pay they rarely even pay that as they use loopholes to avoid it. Trump tax income looks like a lot of wealthy people income I just that why that slow drop they story. Amazon pay little taxes and I can go on. The truth if businesses paid livable wages there be less need for the huge increase need of government assistance which is struggling because less people can afford to pay the taxes putting them in need for more assistance. This downward spiral would stop if companies would at least do that. Now they decrease assistance more for the average person which in turn hurt the economy as less people can pay stuff so more lose their jobs in the long run even though it takes a long minute those companies end up shooting themselves in the foot. I guess they trying to do something different this time by hoping to replace workers with robots so they not made to pay a livable wage after the economy completely crashes.
regarding Omi, I am not defending the dude, but I find his story hilariously sad. Selling dangerous substances and hardcore drugs (that literally kill people), you get a slap on the wrist with a few years in prison and then you are out and about. Selling corporations copyright material, you get 500 years in prison and the FBI harassing you and your girl chilling around pants-less. Make this make sense bro.
I never get tired of seeing videos or hearing about Jeremy Dewitte, the dude is like compelled from a higher power to impersonate the police 😂 he can’t control it
I used to watch Gaskings for a little while back when I was in high school until I realised that most of his jokes and list videos were ripped straight from other people’s videos with no credit given. Wasn’t surprised at all when I found out he was a scammer
Omi also faced a lawsuit from Nike as well, he was making his own “bootleg” Jordan 1s and Nike Dunks. Nike slapped him with a trademark infringement lawsuit.
I'm pretty sure Omi was just the face of these enterprises and not in fact the mastermind behind them. The real guy's running the show were white guys with vast amounts of knowledge on how it all works and another set of people for that bootleg shoes that targeted him. Omi was just the guy who put his name to it all, the fall guy.
Jeremy needs a whole team of psychiatrists working 24/7 in a wing of a hospital in Vienna or Copenhagen or someplace they can give him the help he needs.
The people who fall for scams like KAYLA’S are NOT always “not the brightest bunch”. A lot of times it’s desperation and they continue to think “oh I’ll just hear them out and get more details” and that opens the door for the scammer to manipulate them and talk them into it.
Let's all take a moment to recognize how severe it is that they were charged with child endangerment and not reckless child endangerment. The child endangerment charge without the reckless bit Means they wilfully put a child in danger knowing what they were doing
What’s kinda funny about the dash cam scam is that if they just said “oh these aren’t us it’s just user submitted videos” they’d probably get away with more/ for longer but for some reason they wanted credit for the videos
