The term Psychopathic or Sociopathic is often times misused. A Psychopath is someone who is born without empathy while a sociopath is someone who develops the problem and doesn’t feel empathy. It is extremely rare and I mean extremely rare for them to be murderer or serial killer contrary to popular belief. They just don’t feel any empathy. They can’t understand other people emotions though they are ways they can understand it by literally asking themselves how others feel. Can they be violent yes but it is rare. I think should understand this cause this can unnecessary societal pressure and very brash judgement and will solve the actual problems.

That's not so crazy as you think, many people survive shots to their head when they try to kill themselves. But this whole case is pretty fnckəd up. I can understand that Daniel was upset and angry when his father took the copy of the game from him, but everything what happened afterwards, shows that Daniel is a psychopath and that he clearly lacks the ability to feel empathy for others. The strategy of his attorney shows that some people are obviously not able to differentiate reality from fiction. In this case it's Daniel's attorney. Who in his right mind would even think that people who are playing video games can't differentiate real deaths and real harm from deaths and harm in movies and video games? I'm sorry for his Family (Including his father) but how the heck did he thought it would be a good idea to put the game in the same safe the gun was in is beyond me. This makes me so sad.. video games are meant for ppl to have fun and forget about real world problems. Video games has helped me a lot through the 21 years I have been playing especially now that I’m an adult handling real adult problems. I always look forward coming home from work and booting up a game. It sucks that these gamers think murder was the only way to get their way, I hope they have learned their lesson and realize it wasn’t worth it taking a life over something that’s not real or important.. I’ve faced the same issues as some of these guys. I have had my account stolen from me on Wizard101 that I put hours and hours into but instead of plotting revenge I blocked my so called online “friend” and just made a new account and started over and not to trust anyone like that again

I worked in mental health and disability services for a few years and had clients with traumatic brain injuries. Some of them had to learn to walk again, some even had to learn to talk again similar to some stroke victims. One of my clients couldn't look down, he could move his head to look forward, up and side to side but if he looked down he would lose control over his balance and fall to the ground, this happened several times a day. Other effects of brain injury included debilitating migraines, memory issues, changes in personality, poor inpulse control and problems with substance use because they either became addicted to pain meds due to their injuries or were using drugs/alcohol to help them cope. One more thing, of the clients I worked with, the majority had sustained their injuries in fights, usually outside the local pub or in car accidents where alcohol was a factor, due to my country having a culture of drinking heavily on the weekends. So I guess I'll just say to anyone reading this...PLEASE don't drink and drive, don't get into drunken brawls and if you absolutely must have a slap fight, do it safely!

I genuinely think i'm well lucky towards your comment. Iv'e had incidences myself where i've actually dropped entirely on my face (as some drunk people have), and tot his day have lived. But since my second incident, i feel like i'm actually dumb. I'm not all there, compared to how i was. My typing might seem fine, but, in reality, in real life, damn. I hate it. Everyone treats me like i'm some "retard". Iv'e fallen twice, complete face plants into concrete. Iv'e two scars. On each eyebrow. The left, i'll still say to people I was spiked, and to this day, i really do think i was spiked that day. The second time however, was my own fault. I had drank a lot, and then smoked a Joint with a guy after. After that, ordered a taxi completey fine, he asked if it was ok to walk up to his house to collect some things, on the way up towards his house, i'd tripped over a metal pole and face planted head first. I came home blood all over my face, all over my pillow, everything. Since that day, i just don't think iv'e been the same. I mean i was dumb as shit beforehand, but now, really, i think that reality became real. I hate it. I'm mainly coming towards you're first part of the comment of "not looking down". I can look down alright. But everything else. It seems warped in a sense. I hide it as much as possible, but to see people treat me as a "retard", really feels like maybe i am a "retard".. :(

But I'm still trying my hardest to fix my mistakes so I DON'T put myself in an awkward position of dropping out or having it all come forward when it comes time for me to graduate. I dug my own hole, so I'm going to put in the effort to get out of it even if it means I have to spend more money than what I would've wanted to. I was going to go into debt no matter what, so I guess it's a trade off that I can live with. That being said.... This guy is not a coward. He's deranged and never should've even been allowed to get his hands on a weapon. He should've been going to a professional instead of going to the mall.... And I hate how he says, "I'm an atheist" as if that's somehow a valid explanation for his choices. I'm personally agnostic, but I have close friends who are atheists and would 1000% look at this and be absolutely mortified. Even if you don't believe in an afterlife, even if you don't subscribe to the idea of a higher power, it's pretty damn obvious that the fact that you even exist is an incredibly rare feat on its own and a second one of you is pretty much never going to happen ever again. You don't need to believe in a god, a heaven, or a hell to understand the basic idea that you should make the most of your life while you have it and no innocent person deserves to have their right to life taken away like that. It's so disturbing reading those messages.. It's disturbing to think there really are human beings who would be faster to grab a gun and kill someone out of impulse than they would to simply have what would've been a pretty common conversation (like dude you're not the first person in existence to flunk out of college) with their 'loved' ones.

In recent years that city had 2 cases where uni dropouts lied about their academic status and plotted their families' murders. This particular city prides itself in numbers above all else. You can see it in the schools. Every student knows their high school's rank. Other schools will reject transfers if they fear you'll bring their average down. @@redvirknight9430 The issue is that his father was seemingly against the game from the start, and it had little to do with addiction, rather the ESRB rating and whether or not the game was something he deemed okay with regards to religion. Taking the game away from a deranged kid isn't going to fix the issue, if anything it makes it worse. You have to have a long talk about why he confides in the game so much, construct boundaries with the child (not for the child, with them as equals) and get to the root of the issue. Cause clearly the game wasn't the problem, merely a symptom of his mental state being vulnerable. Without knowing just how strict his father was in regards to games and such we can't completely say what the issue was, but his addiction more than likely wasn't the crux of the problem. It was just the easiest thing to blame for it, and ultimately the results are there for everyone to see. The kid snapped and took his family's lives. I can't say whether or not it would've went different had they just done something else, but I certainly would've taken a different approach than just going nuclear and taking the game and banning it altogether.

Look, I flunked out of college the first time around because I went to a special school due to autism and never needed to try. So I never learned how to study or how to fail gracefully. When my parents found out they were a bit upset, but I really did try my best. Fast forward to about 5 years ago. I saved my money I made as a supermarket custodian and tried again. This time if I couldn't figure something out I asked for help. Something I was too arrogant to try last time. Now I have a masters in Biochemistry. I never once thought of killing my whole family because I knew they would support me no matter what.

Being from an Indian upper middle class family (both parents doctors) I can totally understand the situation he was in. I am in a good place now with my wife and job, but my entire childhood was spent under extreme pressure of overperforming in studies. Every single test was like life and death. If I didn't come in the top two positions, it was either beating with a rod, or other forms of physical abuse, almost torture. And it's not like my case was different. Most Indian/Asian parents are like this. Extremely abusive. I still have nightmares about it well into adulthood (31). I am sure this guy went through a similar horrible childhood at the hands of his parents. I am not saying what he did was right, it was equally horrible. But I understand where he comes from, this family issue is something most of the white people have trouble understanding.

Fr like my mother kicked me out when I was 16 because I was lazy and didn't finish school. Never in my entire life have i had a thought of hurting the woman, even though I don't really like her, despite her being my mother. Also I love video games, especially fps games. Something doesn't seem to add up with that video games cause violence thing lmao

I resolved my anger gaming issues when I was 12. Now I'm a chilled gamer. Never played on a pro level tho. We all have to learn to control our anger, it's what differs us from the animals.
@Omnibushido-

I used to get incredibly angry while gaming, throwing shit, screaming and crying. It was seriously ridiculous. I taught myself to just step away and take a break, go for a walk or air out my irritation through cleaning or calming and productive activities. It’s important to remember that games are meant to be fun, to relieve stress and not create it.

One group hides behind screens and technology, spewing horrible words at groups of marginalized people or people they are against, being hated widely for doing nothing pretty much all day on property that isn't even theirs and doing something many wish they could just do all day for money on streaming services. The other group is just gamers lol.

The first story hit close to home. My brother also hid the fact that he wasn't graduating high school. Was a complete shock for everyone. The school was trying to send letters that he didn't have enough credits. And he would stalk the mail and hid anything from the school. Wasted a ton of ppls time and had to return the money and gifts. And then 5 years later did the exact same thing when it was time to graduate college. At this point I knew he was lying. He never showed receipts for paying for classes or school supplies, didn't order a cap and gown. Also claimed he was suicidal. I love him but omg the drama

I don't forgive the killer for his crimes, but there also appears to be a lack of communication between his family and him about their feelings. If family made it more clear that it's okay to confront them about any problems and they won't be judgmental about it, he'd be less fearful about shame. Dude probably made up his mind that his parents are cold and unforgiving.

I remember my sisters and I cussing each other out over New Super Mario Bros on the Wii if one of us messed up, but we would just laugh about it. They were fun times. I’m really bad at GTA and always wreck the car, but love watching others play it. I believe that these people have severe mental illnesses that have been unfortunately left untreated. Every gamer I know isn’t violent, they just play to unwind from work.
