When I visit my friend/neighbor's house, i notice that the TV is always on, and our sleepovers consist of texting, RU-vid, video games, and Minecraft. And I have fun. But it drives me insane when NONE of my friends can look up for ten seconds to have a real conversation if a phone is within reach. Has anyone heard of moderation?

I was on vacation with my entire extended family and friends recently. We were in the mountains and had zero cell phone service. We spent the week hanging by the pool, playing board games and cooking. It was the best time I've ever had. Yes, technology is important SOMETIMES but my goodness, there is something so beautifully pure when you step away from it all and truly get to know those who are close to you one.

4:22 this guy OBVIOUSLY knows nothing about love. If you found a girl that you loved and you needed money to buy that special girl a super special ring, you would sell anything just to get her that special ring. No it might not do anything for you but imagine how she would feel receiving that ring. She would have that ring her ENTIRE life. Whereas a computer will only last so long until it breaks down and can't be used anymore. My rant. There ya go.

There seems to be a popular misconception about this video. I don't believe it is saying that you should stay away from all forms of social media all the time. I believe it is saying that we need to make physical socialization a priority higher than digital socialization, especially when we leave our homes.

I'm 17 and haven't got a mobile phone. No, my parents aren't strict I don't have one by choice. I do have a laptop though. When I'm at home, I go on my laptop but when I go outside, I'm don't have distractions. However, everyone around me have distractions. :(

kitty123dash aj I don't think you need any more than that, to be perfectly honest. Those things will probably do a lot, so take care of those things, but don't get too absorbed into using them all the time as you're growing up.

the video look up is just saying, that people shouldn't spend their whole day on the internet or on your phone texting, like if you wake up in the morning and your first response is grabbing your phone, checking your twitter, facebook, instagram, etc, it's sad. people have become so absorbed into technology. i mean, life is out there, waiting to be experienced and yet people would rather "like" a status or a picture or send a photo of them and a plate of food that hasn't even been touched. seriously, it's pathetic. when i was a kid, i played out doors, i used my imagination, i hung out with my friends, even now as an adult, i go out with my boyfriend, we go fishing, maybe i'll bring my phone along to take a picture of the fish we catch and release, or play music in the background, but we're interacting. TAKE LIFE BY THE HORNS PEOPLE!! Moderation, moderation is the key to a happy life.

One time i left my phone at home. When i got to school i freaked out trying to look for it, then finally gave up. And for the rest of the day i actually felt like i had a giant weight lifted off of me. Not having to religiously check it every ten seconds, and really get to enjoy everything around me.

When I was in 6th grade, I got my first phone. All you could do on it was call. I didn't even have texting on it. I was in 6th grade, why would I need it right? The reason I got a phone was because my parents both worked, and I walked home from the bus stop every day and I was home alone from 2:00-6:00 Now I see these 3rd graders with these smartphones and I'm just like " they don't need these, they don't go anywhere, they have no use for these smart phones." What the kids do is they ask their parents for a smart phone so they can be popular. And for a parent, that's what you want. You want your kid to be in the "in crowd" so you'll buy your kid whatever he wants so he can fit in. No. Thats not right. Its ok to be not popular. I was in the band, chorus, and musicals in my school. I was far from being popular. But i survived. Now im a second year in a university, and im going to be successfull in life.

Same with a phone, you could be engrossed in a book and not "look up" so what are they going to tell us? That we should stop reading books also?

Instead of leaving your phone at home and selling your computer... how about exercising some self-control? If I'm out with friends, I don't spend the entire time staring at my phone.

when im walking or going somewhere thats public i NEVER bring out my phone to play apps or text someone, because when yiur on the sidewalk and crossing the street, texting and walking is a dangerous as texting and driving
