YPR-765 - The Standard IFV for the Royal Netherlands Army Developed From The Successful M113 APC

The YPR-765 is a light armored vehicle. It was the standard infantry combat vehicle for the Dutch armored infantry and was used in the front lines to move infantrymen quickly and protected. The crew consists of three to ten soldiers.
Dutch YPR-765s saw combat action in the War in Afghanistan before they were passed on to other operators. Frontline models were given up-armored kits to protect against guerilla RPG attacks and IEDs.
The Dutch YPR-2000 was a modernization program also known as the YPR-765A1 standard, which includes features from the M113A3.

30 years ago I served in one of those vehicles. Noisy inside when travelling. The Dutch Army sold most of these APCs to other countries and replaced them with the CV-90, Fennek and Boxer.

At that time the Dutch could make a better decision to opt for the German Schutzenpanzer Marder with the 25 mm Oerlikon canon from the YPR-765. The YPR-765 was cheaper than the Marder therefore the Dutch politicians choos the YPR. The 25mm Oerlikon canon of the YPR-765 was a more capable canon then the 20mm canon on the Marder but the Marder was overall a more capable vehicle.

More relevant than ever now that the Dutch are sending them to Ukraine. I have not seen any information as to the number being sent. It would also be very helpful for Ukraine if the Belgians still have some of these that they could send to Ukraine.

I just watched a video of the Ukrainians storming a Russian position in this. Took took rpg hits it was for sure a mobility kill but no big explosion so I hope the survived

Turkey bought Dutch YPR 765. So they are the same.

YPR765 are no longer used by the Netherlands Army.The last ones that were stored, have been delivered to Ukraine.

Not true, the KMAR still operates some, although they will be phased out by the manticore iirc

Some fake drawings in the mix (like the one showing a supposed KMAR vehicle in camouflage), but overall a good presentation. Two variants you missed (though you did show a photograph of one of them) were the scout and anti-tank variants, which had special turrets with either telescopes and high definition night vision gear or a dual tube TOW launcher that could be reloaded from under the armour.
