I found out after publishing this video that some of the shadows in these YSL quads do contain talc. Unfortunately, all the online ingredient lists (on Sephora, the YSL site, etc.) just listed the ingredients for the first ahde in one of the palettes, and so I did not find this out until I actually looked at the packages for the shadows. I do not seem to have experienced negative reactions to talc in high-end products (hopefully they are using higher grades of talc that do not contain asbestos!), but obviously some people do want or need to avoid talc. I sincerely apologize for having provided inaccurate information about this in this video. ❤

Hi Eva! I did order the Lisa Eldridge eyeliner and mascara today (along with some more of her fantastic cleansing balm). I have never experimented much with liquid eyeliner (though the Honest one worked better than I thought it would), and Lisa Eldridge is the only brand that I focus on that has so far declined to admit me into their affiliate program, but her releases are always interesting enough that it seems worth trying anyway. ❤

I really wanted this palette in blue and took it off my wish list because I got so annoyed that they didn’t offer the blue one in the US! You might like the Natasha Denona mini triochrome palette if you’re looking for an easy to use blue pallet!
I have felt for a while that the best thing that I can do is to support the microbiome of my face, primarily by strictly avoiding any and all products that cause any irritation. Just this past week, I have found some new podcast interviews (on The Honest Channel and Dave Asprey) with skincare researchers that seem to be in agreement with that, suggesting that the good bacteria on the face manufacture a lot of the anti-aging compounds that skincare companies are (less successfully) trying to put in products. So I feel like i am starting to understand why this strategy has been working for me. I do use products with bakuchiol (which may perform similarly to retinol on both acne-prone and aging skin) and other anti-aging botanicals, as well as with a variety of peptides. I did notice that Natasha Denona blue mini-palette but there are two shades that have aluminum powder and so haven't pursued that. I've been a little tempted by the Dior Eden Roc quint (which has one blue shade), and by the Jane Iredale Blue Hour Trio, but probably will just wait for a while and see what else comes up this year. I am guessing we may be seeing some really pretty blue options!

I actually thought of that right after I pushed send on my message, that I probably should have looked up the ingredients before suggesting it! Oh, glad you can use that one! I have never tried an eyeshadow with aluminum powder on the list that I could tolerate and so have pretty much given up on trying. I realized that I do have a few blue eyeshadows though - one in the Lisa Eldridge Sorcery palette, one in liquid form from Violette FR, and the navy blue Merit Solo Shadow. So maybe if any other interesting blue eyeshadows pop up, I will do a whole video on that. Or maybe i should do green in the meantime - I do have a lot of those already. ❤
Your discussion is very useful to me. I will be turning 60 this summer, and my eyelids are suddenly really sensitive. Thank you for your careful analysis of the ingredients and comparisons. I have been really attracted to the sparkly shadows in Pat McGrath and Lisa Eldridge. I think green might be a problem, unfortunately, it's a favorite color.
