YSL Judge Addresses Media Personality 'Infamous Sylvia' Who Allegedly Gave Jurors Nicknames

During the lunch break, Judge Paige Reese Whitaker spoke with media personality "Infamous Sylvia" about her giving the jurors "nicknames." Whitaker believed the nicknames were inappropriate and something a "mean person" would do. "I don't think that it shows the least bit of respect or integrity to the jurors or the court system," the judge said.

That may be true, but in this matter I don't think there is a lot the judge could do. Calling a juror "SpongeBob" is almost certainly protected under the first amendment. It would only be if she shared enough information to identify the jurors that there would be a problem.

I’ve been watching this trial pretty much since the beginning, and I have to say that something about Sylvia has rubbed me wrong since the very beginning. I don’t think her coverage is particularly illuminating, or exceptionally intellectual in any way. Comes off as a grift she just fell into tbh.

She has also visited an incarcerated individual, also in Atlanta, whom she did not know prior to his locked up status. His name is Ernesto Williams. Her interviews with him was recently sited in legal motions.

This is a very difficult case in court. Judge is moving forward with the facts of media. Donna Adelson trial is handled very strictly even actions of the gallery. Not unreasonable for judge to be in control.

Jurors are considered to be in very safe environment nd expectations must be clear. This case could be dangerous for all. Why aren’t these attorneys asking for an audience w only judge and them. Then she may rule to put on the record.
