just ordered one. Will mostly use it for AM/Talk radio..but the idea of a emergency radio is something i needed. I know FRS don't need a license, but don't you need one to transmit on GRMS??

Check out industry Canada's regulations before using two way radio feature in the US there is no longer a license requirement under part 95 E regulations amended part E 2017 in effect January 1st 2018. FRS/GMRS channels 1-22 channels 23-30 require a license renewable every 5 years for repeater operations.
