"Sesame Street? More like Stress-A-Me Street." Considering Jim Henson's feelings of being pigeonholed by Sesame Street and the Muppets, this line is actually brilliant.
@@saintsea-hat7891 He could've been swallowed alive then exploded? Or maybe his explosion was swallowed alive. Just like with how many licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop, the World may never know.
He was actually killed by Nelson Mandela, which is why it's called the Mandela effect, because people falsely remember that he was exploded/ swallowed alive.
I've always been a supporter of raising the age of birth to 5. It just doesn't make sense anymore to have kids born so young. Look at Jenson. When he was born he knew nothing.
2:35 "It was reportedly showing in one hundred and five million countries. and it had garnered an audience of 36 people or about seventy viewers today when adjusted for inflation." LMAO
my favorite line, at 2:33 : "it was reportedly showing in 105 million countries, and had garnered an audience of 36 people, or about 70 viewers today when adjusted for inflation."
@@olliefischer Touching. And poignant, considering the present financial stitchuation. We have to admire Jenson for being able to both be born so young and yet prescient enough to foresee how we've gotten to where we are now, where we really Stress a Memes-teat.
For this YTP you'll need: · Sewing tools · Glue · Sowing materials · Gloo · Cereals · Glü · Old felt coat that it once felt that it belong to your moom · 1 ping ball · Glue (again, replace with gloo or glü if kneaded) · 1 pong ball
And of course for making Ert and Bernie, Statdorf and Walter, Abe Lincoln and Jesus, and basically all the other Muppets actually gay… totally incredible, especially for the time!
"He had secured a weak puppet show. So why not make a puppet?" I love the implications that, up to this point, Jenson refused to actually do any puppet work.
Not enough people are liking this comment. This dude may be one of the best YTPers because of never (or at least never as I remember) pulling that max volume stunt.
@@nlamaa absolutely true. Though when this comes up on the word “dude” specifically, I can’t help but have that one line from All That’s Goodburger skits pop into my head. “I’m a dude. He’s a dude. She’s a dude. ‘Cuz we’re all dudes, hey!”
This video is neither sponsored by, nor a collaboration with, Defunctland. However, Defunctland is a very good RU-vid channel which I recommend if you're interested in documentaries and deep-dives into old media and theme park history. ru-vid.com/show-UCVo63lbKHjC04KqYhwSZ_Pg
DaThings You are so good at YTP-ing, that the world will donate funds just to have your head frozen until the year 3022, when you will be rich and famous for your remembered YTPs! I hope that in 3022 , you will be making more YTPs for the human race, for they will be needing as much of your art as possible :)
I watched a one hour video about queues in disneyland by defunctland and it was the best documentary i ever watched. The fucking CLASS WARFARE section. Incredible.
Kevin from Defunctland is probably going to love this video, lol. I love his sense of humor that he sprinkles in his videos, my favorite being the dripping sarcasm about Disney's crackdown in the 80's on "homosexual fast dancing" in the Videopolis video (yes, their ire was very specific, lol). The part here with the exasperated line of, "Look, I can't think of another way to say this, but a LOT of the Muppets were gay," just fits his humor perfectly 🤣 Hard to find a favorite line but this one took me out: "It was literally showing in 105 million countries and it garnered an audience of 36 people, or about 70 viewers today when adjusted for inflation." 😂😂😂
"My friends, it has often been said that I like war. My friends, I like war. No, friends...I LOVE war!" - Jenson, in his famous "I Love War" speech from Sesame Street Ultimate OVA
A good YTP, but I will say, having the video only be 5 minutes isn’t really in the Defunctland spirit lol. I recommend slowing the video down to .25 to get the full experience.
I love that she was able to sneak in a bit from the latest video, especially considering it's the part where Kevin says that a lot of people were gay on the Garfield ride.
A show for enbies? Kermit is trans? Statdorf and Waltler and Ert and Bernie are gay? Who would have thought? These Muppets gay! Good for them.... good for them. The sentence mixing here is simple and yet incredibly effective- for in its seeming simplicity lies the true nature of its beauty. Well-edited and phenomenal work all around. This is genuinely one of the funniest videos I've seen in a long time, and I ended laughing so hard I cried... only to begin crying for real once Jenson was swallowed alive. Both heartbreakingly funny and downright heartbreaking, this documentary has a little something for everyone, especially long-time fans of Jenson. Thank you for making this.
It will never not be funny to remove the thousand/million in sentences like 'it attracted an audience of 36 viewers'. Also the line 'A powerful rat... named Meisner' did critical damage. Amazing work!
Every documentary skims over several details but this was exactly right. Everyone forgets Jenson was inspired by his body pillow. Thanks for reminding us
I loved "The Sequel to Violence" when I was a kid! Its incredible seeing the history of Jensen, Janeson, and Joanson so lovingly documented, I was worried they would fade into obscurity after Jensen got swallowed alive or blown up
"Had garnered an audience of thirty-six people, or about 70 today when adjusted for inflation" the idea of all numbers needing to be adjusted for inflation not just numbers is sending me
my personal favorite lines: "Sesame Street? More like Stress-a-me street" "Gan Scooney, known for never being afraid, found the proposition terrifying"
Im relly glad jenson created a show that taught children about separation, the french, and problems. Children need to learn about these things, even though they can be scary. I hope the show helped even one child overcome francophobia
I can't watch right now but never has something been added to my watch later so fast. I'm a huge sucker for anything Henson and also it's a RU-vid Poop by my favorite modern pooper. Edit: Briefly skipping through, 02:19 is so true
