Oh Rank10YGO, you really got me with the ARC-V reference. "BUT YOU STILL TAKE THE DAMAGE!" It's about as bad, if not worse (more frequent probably) than "This lets me draw 2 cards."
jack90054 why is your comment in german and when I click on the comment so See answers to your comment it is in english with a totally different meaning o.O
Believe it or not, Neo Bubbleman actually has a _purpose!!!!!_ Bubbleman has a support equip that not only allows it to negate its destruction by battle, but also makes the damage from that battle 0. So for the sweet, sweet cost of 1 Bubbleman on the field, 1 Metamorphosis from the hand, 1 Neo Bubbleman from the hand, 1 Bubble Blaster ( completely unsearchable, by the way ) from the hand, and a Battle Phase, you can get rid of _one whole monster you controls_, and not to mention, _Neo Bubbleman will still be on the field, meaning they have to give up an attacking monster to finally get rid of it!!!!!!_ ... Yeeaah. Frankly, you could probably do a mini-LotW based on the non-Fusion parts of HEROs. Actually, you could probably do something like a "Legacy of the Mostly Worthless" on the entire archetype pre-Omni HEROs, considering how many useless anime E-HERO Fusions there are, how most D-HEROs are hilariously bad especially considering how _stupidly good_ the few that aren't are, and whatever the hell Evil HEROs were. And _oh boy_, all those Spells and Traps. Delicious, delicious gimmicks.
Disk Commander's broken, Diamond Dude, Plasma, and Dasher are solid and fun, and Doom Lord was pretty okay in its time. Really, Destiny Heroes suffer from about the same problem as Roids - they have lots of interesting tools, but they don't actually synergize in any meaningful way.
You are in every comment section I see. There is only one possible explanation: you're an omnipotent being who can simultaniously be at multiple locations at the same time, and you're superior to all of mankind, pretty much on the level a god. I hereby bow down before your greatness, and I will worship you for the rest of my life.

Type support? Great card. Archetype support? Again, great card. Ability to actually summon it in said archetype? Who wants that you have to run a shitty level 4 monster or cards you wouldn't want in a rank 8 focused archetype (I.E. Rescue Rabbit or a level altering card.) A shame indeed but at least it gives Dragons more support it doesn't need.
Bers I know, it really is a shame because it adds so much support (Not for the Photon side but... eh) but then you see the summoning condition and you just go "God damn it Konami! WHY!"
The CourierNX Exactly my reaction when i saw the summoning condition XD it could have just been like, "2 level 4 Photon monsters" or "2 level 4 light monsters" and it would have been fine lol
What's funny is that Neo Bubbleman's name thing isn't there for the fusions, it's for the Bubbleman-specific spell cards that exist. On a related note, you could make an entire one of these lists based on E-hero support alone. Because what's better in a Fusion-based archetype than a card that relies on a specific, non-fusion member of the archetype being ON THE FIELD. See Feather Wind and Feather Shot for examples.
4:40 To be fair, "But you'll still take damage!" has been around in the series long before Arc V. It's like the opponent always has to point out the obvious when the defender pulls a move that saves their monster from being destroyed.
The anime has tons and tons of cards that are basically just a much worse version of Waboku. They even printed Hero Barrier (which negates a single attack only if you have an Elemental HERO). Also, Half Unbreak was used 19 times in Zexal... Jaden used Hero Barrier 11 times, though he used Negate Attack (a strictly better version of it because it ends the battle phase, doesn't require a HERO, and it's a Counter Trap) before he used it even once...
Currently watching 5ds and this phase is also commonly used through out the show, basically everytime when a character summon battle protection monster
Looking back at this, Hero Barrier is better than I thought; it applies a lingering effect for the rest of the turn phase to negate the first attack they do, so you can chain it and still have it work. It's also one of the only cards I've ever seen that you can activate and have resolve without effect; it only negates the attack if you have an E-HERO on the field, but you can still activate it regardless, it just won't do anything.
You can put many monsters that special summon themselves (Cyber Dragon, Vice Dragon, Linkslayer, ANye Level 5 Instant Fusioned Monster) and then Berners Falcon for a Rank 4 (I made a plan for a Deck focused for Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon Summon using Heraldics and others to sumon that guy, but funny enough, without including the Heraldic XYZ monster)
As a question. With the name Rata, and deciding to become a YuGiTuber, why did you decide to not be "Rata-Lock" or "Rata-Garasu" you know, make a pun, or something I dunno.
+TacioFranco Hell it would be better if it used level 4 Machine type monsters because then you could use Orbital 7 (As well as his new card retrain) and Lillybot to go into it since both of them are Machine Dupe targets.
I found this on the trivia page of Destiny HERO Departed: "This card is one of the few cards in the game who’s rulings straight up contradict the card’s effect. This is because its effect to special summon itself to the opponent’s field is during the Standby Phase and is mandatory without a once per turn clause. This meant that if either “King Tiger Wanghu” or “Slifer the Sky Dragon” were on the field, who’d immediately destroy this card with their effects, then this card could keep coming back infinitely. This special ruling was put in place to prevent an Infinite loop."
The idea of Gimmick Puppet Nightmare is to tribute giant killer after he does his effect (it's not once per turn) to summon Heaven's Strings. You have usually already sent one more with a trade-in. Works pretty good for me.
Brisote would be infinitely more useful if it's effect was to Special Summon itself from your hand while you controlled a "Blackwing" monster. Hell, maybe even an effect to allow itself to decrease its level by 1 if used as Synchro Material for a "Blackwing" Synchro Monster.
When they were first introduced special summoning from the hand as long as you had another Blackwing with a different name on the field kind of seemed to be their thing. I get that it would have only become more broken as the game evolved but that doesn't matter to Konami, so it's a shame they didn't really expand on that.
And Shun has THREE fuckin copies of this card in his deck (he once called all three to Xyz summon Revolution Falcon, oh and he did so via pendulum summon), god the anime producers hate him.
They didn't, at least. It was done in some really big battle royale where Gongenzaka did ... something to force Sawatori to give Shun his Pendulums, which saved Shun from his outright terrible brick.
If it were a level 8 with a special summon condition (eg. tribute one Raidraptor) it would probably be okay - not fantastic, but you could still have some small use for it - but a level 6? Konami didn't care. Because FUCK YOU, GIVE ME MONEY.
If GP Nightmare had allowed itself to fetch another copy from Deck or just fricking fetch ANY Gimmick Puppet, it would be so much better. It's like Konami wants to troll people on purpose for even playing their game.
The funniest part is that Nightmare's effect in the anime didn't special summon anything - its effect was that it could be treated as two monsters for the purpose of Xyz Summons. If you think that sounds weird, you ain't seen nothing - there are THIRTEEN cards that, in the anime, had that same effect, including Photon Satellite, Galaxy Tyranno, Battlin' Boxer Switchitter, and a whole mess of others - and every single one has been nerfed. It's like the anime duel writers are going "please, please can we do one-card xyz, i'm sick of writing 'and then he special summoned another one from his deck' it's not funny anymore", and the Konami execs are going "nah, sounds too broken, now let's go check on the Zoodiacs."
You know what’s funny. Currently in 2023, people have been using Gimmick Puppet Nightmare in Albaz decks souly due to the fact that if it’s special summoned it locks you into Gimmick Puppets for the rest of the turn. The point still stands it’s an awful card for GP’s, but watching people use it as a stun card is very cathartic
A year late but @9:17 you missed that you could summon it with sharp... lol (doesn't really matter but it's the most practical way) then you go into rebarian shark and pray your opponent hits it to finally get RUM search in raidraptors.
"Why nobody acknoledges he lost his best friend and sister? (Or technically speaking that Yuya and Yuzu became his best friend and sister?)" could be added?
I know this will probably never reach you but, Id LOVE for you to post the rule 34 version of Number 81 as some kinda joke (censored obviously) for some top 10 sexy cards list.
What about Ra's Disciple? It has no protection, weak stats and you need Double Summon to get its full benefits. I get they were trying to make it easier to tribute summon into the Egyptian Gods, but the fucked it up badly.
Yeah, you can't use them to summon anything but God cards, why?! If you could use them for other stuff, it would actually be good. And maybe the restriction would only apply for tribute summons so you can special summon with them as material.
@@SwagpionThey did not get retrained, but we got Ancient Chant, which has Double Summon built into it, making it + Disciple a 2 card Winged Dragon of Ra
There's a Gladiator Beast and a Dragunity (who's names I can't remember) that need to be on this list due to not just being bad, but counter productive to the entire theme of their archetypes
Here's one: Evolsaur Terias. The card itself is not bad by any means, but it's effect goes against the Evol deck concept. Whereas most Evolsaurs get a beneficial effect by being special summoned with the effect of an Evoltile, Terias only gets stats that would be considered good on a level 4. He's still a good card, because you can summon him with Elias and bring out Solda with him, but that still doesn't make his effect good for or congruent with the rest of the archetype.
ClayXros It's one of the best cards ever made and it's really easy to summon you just rank up cyber dragon nova and the joke is that this is the only way to summon it using main deck materials
Oh wow! Almost if not every blackwing on your blackwing shitty support wheel ended up being the cards available for drop or level up in Duel Links for Crow!
The most quotable parts are here: 0:14 "buzzing", 3:25 "discard fodder", 5:53 "Shapesnatch", 7:16 "riveting", 11:10 "MEME∑", 14:57 "zilch" You're welcome, future me. Now you can get back to work instead of watching the whole video. No, seriously. Get outta here.
Galaxy Stealth Dragon was used by the Mizar in Zexal, whose main card was Number 107: Galaxy-Eyes Tachyon Dragon, and his main deck was composed of level 4 and 8 Dragon-Type monsters.
Finally, another upload. I always wait until you upload a decent chunk of vids so I can spend my saturday mornings watching funny and interesting yugioh bits
11:10 WELL you could use Berners falcon in conjuncton with Vice Dragon, Cyber Dragon, The Tricky, Linkslayer ANY Level 5 Fusion brought by Instant Fusion (EDIT: ADD Pankratops to the List, and Danger!s), and you will have 2 materials ready for a Rank 4, while having options for Ranks 5 and 7 Isn't very related to Heraldics? Sure. Is it bad at all? Not at all
10:08 Well, Harpie Girl would've actually been a legit good Harpie card to put here. Crappy stats, no effect, but is still part of the Archetype. It isn't even level 4 so it can't do anything to support the archetype. If it were level 4, it could be used for Rescue Rabbit plays with a Harpie to summon Phanstamal Dragon, but if you want a vanilla Harpie, you're better off just playing, well, Harpie Lady.
Destiny HERO - Departed would be a lot more useful if it said "you can" banish instead of just banishing without a choice. Would still pretty much only be good as cannon fodder to give opponent, but at least it would be usable as cannon fodder then. Even if Elemental HERO - Neo Bubbleman didn't have any summon restriction whatsoever, he'd still be too underpowered to be usable. And while I'm at it, Swordsman From a Distant Land and Zone Eater's effects should resolve at end of same turn, not 5 turns later. They'd at least be good for running over things that can't be destroyed by battle or things that are just too beefy. Sure you take damage, but it's still something. If it wasn't for that little rules nuance, Blackwing - Brisote the Tailwind still wouldn't be good, but at least it'd be semi-usable. How could it be errataed to be functional even if not good? Maybe quick effect? Maybe negate the destruction of the 2nd Blackwing while it's summoning? If Cyber Barrier's Dragon's summon condition was self-contained rather than relying on Reflect unit and instead had the effect that it can negate an attack once per turn, it wouldn't be good but it'd at least be usable. Especially if it kept the ability to summon itself from the deck, so few monsters have that ability. Would Raidraptor - Wild Vulture be usable if it were level 4 and could summon from deck? Or maybe drop it to level 3 (and drop stats accordingly) and just summon 1 level 3 so it can make Fiend Eagle more usable? Or keep the 2 summons and just have an extra level 3 after XYZ summon? Heraldic Beast Berners Falcon might not be useful within its own archetype, but some rogue decks might make use of it. What would you say Gimmick Puppet Nightmare needs to be properly Errataed? I really wish you'd cover what cards need to be errated enough to preserve the original intent while making them at least somewhat usable without being OP, even if they don't necessarily help their archetype. If it helps a rogue deck, that's good enough. Retillianne servant may not help Reptilliannes, but with some kind of backrow special summon restrictor like Vanity's Empiness, it could be good for some stalling.
Departed can be summoned with Over Destiny, and generically is a great way to enable battle searching effects stuck on 1500-1900 ATK monsters. It's bad but I wouldn't put in a top 10 worst, because being activated in the graveyard means it actually synergizes with destiny hero's playstyle, and you can actually get it in there with destiny draw. There's a ton of restrictions on summoning monsters to your opponent's field in attack position who have low attack, the best one actually being silent wobby of all things.
Except Galaxy Stealth Dragon isn't meant for Galaxy decks, it is meant for Dragon decks that shit out the big ass Galaxy-Eyes Xyz Monsters (I don't remember Stealth being used by Kaito but by Mizar, who didn't play a Galaxy deck but a Number C107 Turbo deck and use several Level 4 Dragon-Type Monsters). But I don't say this card is good in the actual meta. It just make Mizar.deck more playable (even if Queen Dragun Djinn is a better option).
Yeah the only reason it has that restriction it's because it's used by Mizael. The card be useful in an actual Galaxy deck if Konami actually give Galaxy more useful level 4 dragon, but until it will only be useful in dragon deck, which suck cause the protection effect is actually quite neat.
X1, X2, X4, Zero 3&4. The rest of the X series kinda ranges from terrible to okay (I could make an hour-long video ranting about X5 even though 6 and 7 are a LOT worse), and the first two Zero games had some really bizarre design decisions. Once I inevitably open a gaming channel I plan to Let's Play them all so I guess I could relay my thoughts that way
Cool! My favorites are 1, 2 (my first X game/Mega Man game in general), 4, 5 (which is not a bad game at all, just really sloppy), & definitely Zero 3 & 4.
Your Tweetch link in the description just leads to Twitter again. Though by clicking on it, I did learn why that song was buggered in your Rank 10 Trains video. I just thought my speakers were busted.
Also also with the chronomolies, two of their three monsters that need tributes have ways to special summon themselves (which is how you'll use them when running chronomoly)
I liked your lists that you made in the early days of your channel so it's awesome to see that you've made another list! This was another high quality video and it's so funny to know that there's only 3 monsters in the game to make Cyber Dragon Infinity w/o overlaying it on top of Nova. And you're watching Arc-V?
As usual, excellent video. Why are you surprised about getting this many subs in one year though? I'm kinda disappointed, because you deserve somewhere in the millions!
If I remember correctly, Blackwing Brisote the Tailwind was jumped straight from the 5Ds anime with no changes apart from i think she gained you 800 LP originally not 600 LP. Funnily enough from the same bunch of episodes that all the nordics were introduced and then jumped into the card game with no changes either... I'm spotting a patern here
I'm a year late, story of my life. So anyways, about that gimmick puppet segment... Nightmare is a really useful card to play. In that deck I ran a tonne of dump to grave cards, veil of darkness, foolish burial, scissor arms, and at the time that card saved my ass allot. And I say it's perfectly fair that you could see it as bad support. But you know what the fucking WORST gimmick puppet is? Shadow feeler. If your opponent is about to OTK you, special summon it in attack position and take 1000. Oh, and it can't be destroyed by battle. Whoop-de-fucking-doo. If you have to use Shadow Feeler's effect, you've lost. End of. This got more rage-y than was intended, but the message is there. Have a nice day :)
