I actually have a Spirit themed deck that pretty similar to Bakura’s Occult deck. I’ve got destiny board, dark sanctuary and dark necrofear. I’m a huge fan of Yami Bakura
Same and I'm planning to make one of these to. Dark Necrofear is one of my favorite cards. I'm glad that it got an archetype and that unlike alot of anime only cards made real, Dark Sanctuary is actually good. Nearly better than the anime one even since you don't have to sacrifice a monster to keep it in play.
2 new support for destiny board announced recently: Name - Death Sentence Type - trap (continuous) Effect: You can target your Fiend monsters that are banished and/or in your GY, up to the number of "Destiny Board" and "Spirit Message" cards you control; add them to your hand. You can send this card from the field to the GY; place 1 "Spirit Message" card from your hand, Deck, or GY face-up in your Spell & Trap Zone. (This is treated as being placed by the effect of "Destiny Board".) You can only use 1 "Death Sentence" effect per turn, and only once that turn. Name - Dark Occultism Type - spell (normal) Effect: Discard 1 card; add 1 "Destiny Board" or 1 Level 8 Fiend monster from your Deck or GY to your hand. During your Main Phase, except the turn this card was sent to the GY: You can banish this card from your GY; place any number of "Destiny Board" and/or "Spirit Message" cards with different names from your hand and/or GY on the bottom of the Deck in any order, then draw the same number of cards. You can only use each effect of "Dark Occultism" once per turn.
@TGS Anime You know, I just realized something here...the image of the board was removed from the Letter Cards themselves, but it still appears as a Hologram when each card is played...which is interesting
Exodia and the destiny board could be a reference to Atem and Thief King Bakura. With the pieces of Exodia being monster cards belonging in the monster zone. While the Destiny board belong in the Spell/Trap zone. Meaning Atem's upbringing from nobility and Bakura being some brought up from a lower background through oppression and a harsh life.
Love using this in duel links. Everytime i hear a player say, "whats wrong done already?" Or "didnt think this was going to be too easy" when my life points drop. I would pause for a couple of seconds and remark by saying, "you have no idea what i have in store next" then say "Let the game begin..." ooooh the horror in their playstyle as they desperately try to defeat me.
@@skellingtron817 via a skill. Your LP must be 2000 or Below, and a Dark Necrofear must be in your graveyard. The Messages appear only as an effect, not as cards. After five turns you win and get a little cutscene. The only way to interact with it is to remove Dark Necrofear from the 'Yard, that will cause the effect to break and you can only use it once per duel
The most splendid yugioh logic in the world: - Censor anything that has something to do with religious themes (halos, horns, anything even remotely demonic). - Bring Ouija boards into the game. Flawless, absolutely flawless.
Go for the Maju archetype! Fact about them, the main character of the custom yugioh series, Yugioh Excalibur, Prez Kamouri, used Great Maju Garzett as his signature card until he got The Wicket Avatar
Dark Necorofear got a retrain as Curse Necrofear, as well as a pair of new spirits to accompany her. Getting back into Yugioh, I an really tempted to build some sort of modern Spirit Message deck using them.
When I first saw the Destiny Board cards on the anime I was like man I have to have these and when I actually learned about them I was like no I don't need them at all, the only reason why I even keep the Destiny Board cards is just to see if I can actually get all of the letters I'm only missing one at the moment
The absolute fear you instill by playing the first card alone... Soooo good! Love these cards! 😈 My strategy with this is keep the opponent on the rocks using high defense monsters, use Pumprincess to keep their monsters super weak so they can't do anything and if need be, swords of revealing light just to allow them to feel hopeless as one by one each card is played. Once we get to the final letter I'll just play Doomcalibur Knight to negate and destroy Pumprincess and then play the final letter... Upon reflection I channel the glee of Yami Bakura when I do this a bit too much 😂😂😂
For 5 years I only played in my own casual playgroup. We sometimes play straight from the TCG, but occasionally we'd either have a custom ban list (Pot of Greed Unlimited anyone? I think this only works since our casual decks are so bad OTKs happen less than 1/4 of the time) or sometimes someone would propose a tweak to some cards. Like making Mirage Knight and Silent Magician LV 8 special summonable by 3 Spellcaster tributes. We used to think doing anything other than what the cards say was heresy, but after enough times a card we used got errated, we decided "hey if Konami changes things to make tournaments more fun, why don't we do the same for ourselves?" The most common version of a house rule is an older version of a card, but sometimes we come up with unique ideas. Hey as long as everyone agrees on the rules and have fun, isn't everything great? One of the ideas that came to us was Destiny Board. Basically, we wanted to figure out how to make it better without actually making it good enough to be consistent. One idea was just letting Spirit Messages be placed onto Destiny Board, but this was quickly vetoed. I mean Yugi in the anime himself pointed out the problem of the spirit messages filling up the spell and trap zones, so we'd want to keep this weakness. We don't copy everything from the anime since that'd buff some cards way too much, but if the TCG and anime share a feature we'd like to keep it. One idea we tried was replacing the auto-destroy of the spirit messages with "When destiny board or spirit messages leave the field, Desitny Board and Spirit messages gain the effect 'you may destroy this card during your end phase or your opponent's main phase 2'" and the Spirit Messages "I" "N" and "A" are replaced with "After 6 turns, return this card to your hand. Do not count turns if 'Destiny Board' is on your side of the field. You cannot place this on the field from your graveyard" and "L" replaced with "You cannot place this on the field from your graveyard. During main phase 2, this card destroys itself." This means one could play the Destiny Board and let it take out the letters, or you can straight up play the spell cards from your hand. This worked a bit better, but for some reason we could never get it to work well. We do not intend for our house rules to make it "Final Countdown" level of consistency, but just wanted to have a bit of fun. I wonder if Konami went with our version would Desitny Board see some success, maybe never being meta, but would it at least see rogue success? Or would it just be killed by MST, since that's often how our Desitny Board vs Synchro beatdown decks turn out?
They shouldn't have changed the Destiny Board name, really. Just put it as Oujia Board and put the messages as "Death", I think it would look fiercer. (Well, this could be done after 4Kids stopped their Yugioh releases)
Me: Did you know, the boards aromatic win condition “DEATH” was Actually suppose to Censor it REAL message of this Archetype! Yet 4kids have to Censor the Word “DEATH” in to “FINAL” for the “international” release! 😏 TGS Anime: What was the Destiny Boards original Spelling Message called? 🤨 Me: “DISNEY”!!!!! 😈 (Star Wars (Original Trilogy) Empire Theme plays)

"This is my last turn... his piercing damage beatstick monster will kill me even if i set a monster and his other cards make him immune to traps i need to draw the only card that can Save me in this situation please heart of the cards!... I draw!" Heart of the cards: *F* "... F-uck."
How about either a countdown or just a video involving the undead Fiend Monsters? Monsters like Headless Knight, Gross Ghost of Fled Dreams, Portrait's Secret, Souls of the Forgotten, Dark Ruler Ha Des, Dark Nercofear and etc.
1:32 reminds me of a game we played at school once got one word "Sommeraftenhygge" a 3 layered compound word, and had to make as many other words as possible, using the letters of the word in question. ...it got a bit crazy... started running out of danish word and swapped to english... then a bit of german as well. EDIT: although stronger rules, unless im missing something, because finaldeath only has one N, annihilate has 2 (and 2 i's) which wouldnt count.
You know what the weirdest thing is...one of the main rules of the ouija board is to not use it in a graveyard or where anyone has died...and yet...the creator has one on his grave stone...wonder if anyone has ever had the balls to actually play a game on that ouija board...doubt anything would happen...right?...
Hey TGS! Will there be a Destiny Board Archtype 2.0, as there have been new goodies since then! :O Sincerely - a fan of your videos! PS: Loved the ("Final") Countdown skit!
Fun fact: Despite appearing in the anime, Dark Sanctuary didn’t get released until freaking 2016. I get that its CURRENT effect might have been slightly OP aback in the earlier days when stall cards like fairy box were considered viable. I know there were a number of anime cards that got released super late on account of their power, like Soul Charge and Kuribandit, but it would have been nice if destiny board at least had SOME kind of competitive support for all those years. They also waited that long to release Diabound Kernel, which sucks because that was my favorite monster in the anime as a kid.
I kinda wish masks bad gotten more support. That could be a fun archetype. I just liked the aesthetic. Basically cards like mask of restrict and what not. Valon’s deck could be cool to. Just an archetype of armor pieces.
Dark sanctuary's picture was said to be based off of Salvador Dali's work, however I would disagree as it seems more similar to either Hieronymus Bosch's painting of hell or one of H.R. Giger's paintings.
I've been wondering why don't you we do a couple of these type of things because recently a lot of support has comes out for a bunch of different archetypes so
