Update May 2024: Holy sh*t!!! We reached 2 MILLION VIEWS!!! I’m so shocked, my 16 year old self wouldn’t believe this. Never in a million years would I believe that any of my videos would get this much attention and love from other Yu-Gi-Oh! fans like me. Thank you all for your touching comments and likes throughout this 11 years, and above all thank you Takahashi-Sensei (RIP), without you we wouldn’t have this awesome community! ❤ Old comment from 2021: We finally reached 1 million views!!!!! 💖 It took 7 years but we’re finally here! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart ♥️
Where it all started, thanks Takahashi, for leaving us with wonderful memories where many of us strive to be the King of Games. Rest in Peace, see you on the other side.
@@risemystic_ if someone enjoys something, who cares if its canon or not. I never understood why that even matters. its just a story whichever way you look at it.
He just went to join Atem in the great beyond. He'll be fine. Note: I came here after news came out that Takahashi died trying to save drowning tourists from a riptide. 🌟 Rest in peace, hero. You had the heart of a real protagonist.
Dragon Of Something I mean, I watched Season 0 a while back, before I knew about the Abridged series. Of course I won't know about it without doing so.
I like how season 0 had to do with more games than just duel monsters. Besides, the series' name is Yugioh. It is not only supposed to sound like "pharaoh", but also "Yuugi" means game in japanese and "ou" means king. Yugioh = king of games (and the main character is the resurrection of Atem who was a pharaoh) Makes sense, right? Edit: Rest in peace, Takahashi-sensei We will always remember your work :'(
@smb85 dkc94 The 4 dimensions in Arc-V wouldn't be Standard, Fusion, Synchro, & Xyz, but Duel Monsters, Capsule Monsters, DDM, and Monster World instead.
@smb85 dkc94 It would certainly be different. I don't know if it would be better or not, but I love the Yugioh made by Kazuki Takahashi. This guy is a legend. Also I have an unpopular opinion. Anzu and Honda are also awesome characters.
@@monadoboy8009 I think it's childish, but deceptively so. The manga is really silly at first glance until you have him do a knife stab game with Ushio. The season 0 adaptation by Toei is in many aspects a pretty bad adaptation of the manga imo, but because the earlier parts of the series had such variety and juggled "it's game time" with really fucked up games - it was basically a cutesy little shonen kid whose alter ego was practically Jigsaw - that it's overall still a great watch anyway. Atem did not CARE about anything, my man had a revolver pointed at his chest two feet away from him and displayed ZERO fear at any point.
Me too! I wish I could draw this way. I love the bright colors and simple character designs, and the cool magic stuff. If only this series went on for longer.
I'm of the group that feel it was a great and lucky gift that Takahashi got to put together one great D&D inspired battle against Bakura before the Duel Monsters really took over. I think it was his favourite because of what the games meant to him. He once mentioned that we rarely get to see ourselves other than when we look at the mirror but a mirror cannot reflect our hearts. However, when we play games with others, mainly other people, face-to-face, it's like we are seeing each other's souls represented by how we play. That's why it comes as no surprise that a game as generous with freedom and imagination as D&D would be his favourite. The way you can make your characters act or coming up with their backstories, it's like you're putting together a reflection of your soul, the offshoot of yourself you've placed into a world rife with adventure and possibilities. Just like the souls that Takahashi has allowed us to see in each other, each viewing building new bonds, I hope that he can rest in peace, for his soul was spread across the world and it was silly, it was crazy, it was a hodgepodge of different and insane ideas mashed together into a work of pure love and expression. Yet, I would not have wished for a second that I'd rather live in a world where his soul hadn't touched me and so many others. He has done a great service to us all. One of the most passionate out of all of us. Thank you for all the memories and for having brought your gift to our lives. With all your talk of spirits and how we can see them in each other through the games we play, we can see your spirit was truly beautiful.
Rest In Peace Kazuki Takahashi. He died while trying to save someone from drowning. He is a true hero. My thoughts and prayers goes out to his family and loved ones. ❤
May the legend that is Kazuki Takahashi rest easy. Thank you to the real King of Games. For anyone watching this video for nostalgia, I'm glad this man brought you here and may his art, his games and his soul forever be an inspiration to you 🖤 Rest in piece, Kazuki Takahashi, and thank you 🖤
When I was 12/13 I went with my brother to buy some Yugioh cards because I want it to start collecting and we played Alot together, after he left to come back to my country of origin I started to play more Yugioh in comic shop, discover the original series of 1999 and it just became one of the reasons why I wanted to become an artist and live in the country of Japan. Now I am 18 and I can just say Thank you so much Kazuki Takahashi for helping me been distracted when things where going on in my childhood and find a dream that I will accomplish in a far future. Thanks king of The games RIP🕊️🕊️
@@itsgreca.actualmenteabando375 Yeah, that's probably why they lost the license, but there's a reason why the more well known anime doesn't even acknowledge the fact that this exists, and why it'll never be rereleased unless Konami goes out of business
I was never into YuGiOh as a kid but I found it at the start of this year through the abridged series and it’s getting me through a tough time in my life. Thank you Kazuki Takahashi, bless you and all your friends, family, and fans.
I think we really need a remake of the original series at some point. This content is really important to the overall context of yamis character and also is just kinda amazing like how shadis presence in the storyline is explained in that he went after the people who disgraced the tombs in egypt. Instead of him just kinda being there because of millenium items or something like that. And all of that just kinda does not exist later in the continuity, basically retconning it out of existance because yes.
@@TwilightLink77 Poor examples because DBZ Kai is a cut down re-edit, so the adaptation doesn't actually improve, they just taped together a version without the fluff. And Sailor Moon Crystal was only faithful to the manga when it felt like it and had dubious production quality. Plus that the Yu-gi-oh anime has its own fundamentally diffrent canon to the manga anyhow, so a faithful adaptation wouldn't even count as a remake of the anime but rather just a completely diffrent thing. Heck, 2 years after writing my comment here, I actually struggle to come up with a convincing way of writing Season 0/Early manga-adjacent content into the anime without wrecking the pacing and continuity of the script. Because the anime was just not written around that being part of it.
@@lpfan4491 Maybe create three different series. One for early manga, one for Duelist (Maybe also add YGO! R into the mix) and one for Milenium World. Just like how the manga was divided by VIZ in the US
Listening to this for the first time in years and weeks after Takahashi's death and I'm just sobbing 😭 Thank you so much, Kazuki Takahashi. Your story and characters touched the hearts of millions around the world and we'll never forget you. Fly at Higher Game indeed RIP 🙏🏿
Rip Mr Takahashi, the true King of games, the man, the myth, the legend who brought us yugioh, we hope you're safe in the place above the shadow realm, rest in peace, the fandom will never forget you.
Three months ago, I learned Kazuki Takahashi died, and I wept. Today, I learned he reportedly died while trying to rescue people from drowning, and I wept again. Rest in peace, Kazuki Takahashi. Thank you.

I just finished reading the entirety of the original Yu-Gi-Oh manga, Duelist and Millennium World included. I cried so god damn much at the end. Thank you, Kazuki Takahashi, for this story. May you in peace.
There's so much stuff before the Duelist Kingdom arc that is really good. It's why I myself consider the manga to be the best way to experience Yu-Gi-Oh! It really feels like one, continuous story that's at it's heart about weird Egyptian mysticism based around games. Even after the focus shifts to Duel Monsters (which I think was probably for the best in the end) the last arc has almost nothing to do with the card game and is really a huge callback to one of the first big stories in the whole series, the D&D-esque game against Bakura.
+mischitary With almost anything the original is always better, adaptations rarely surprass the original,so yeah, maga is in many ways best way to experience Yugioh

I agree, reading the manga was way better. I'm thankful that's how I got to know Yugioh, but to be honest, it's kinda funny how Yugi looks different in the first few chapters of the manga. Then again, it's usually like that in shounen mangas (Bleach, Reborn!)
Hey guys Sissie131 here, I'm writing another note because lately I've been kind of worried about that new act "COPPA". Even though my content is basically just music videos, they do have animation included, which means kids may watch it. And I really don't get any money from this videos, and RU-vidrs have to pay 42K for each video that has "child content". So, I'm not entirely sure what I'll do with my content, I don't want to close my channel or delete my videos because you all enjoy them so much! I'm still learning about the act and what should I do about it, so if any of you have any suggestions you're welcome to comment or just leave a like. I hope this gets solved, otherwise it'll be the end of RU-vid for all of us...
Is this child content just because you have categorized as such if so could you change the category so you "don't get paid" or does youtube categorize it automatically? I'm no youtuber so I don't know how that thing works. But I wish you luck, your videos are awesome!
Well it's mostly fanart which are categorized as drawings/art so it should be ok. Yugioh also falls in a wide category because: 1) Yu-Gi-Oh Season 0 /original Yu-Gi-Oh is after the original manga which is indeed dark, even darker then the original yugioh, but it's most likely NOT for kids. 2) Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters that falls under the category still not for kids because in the Japanese version there's still violence scenes etc. 3) The Yu-Gi-Oh card game, which sadly falls under the category of for children. So based on these if you have on your channel anything like the online app Duel Links records or physical cards then that's for children. Other then that you're good ^^ *hopefully*
God this song gives me so much goosebumps... I hope one day they actually faithfully adapt the Yu-Gi-Oh! Manga to an Anime series without any changes like they did with the Duel Monsters series and Season 0...
Wow, almost 1 million views... When I first made this I didn't expect anyone to watch it, let alone leave awesome comments like yours. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and keep up the awesome comments, I'm always looking forward to seeing it all!
Sissie131 Thank you for uploading this! This is a very nostalgic song for me personally. I dislike the brutality and sheer lack of law enforcement in Season 0, but the central plot with Yami Yugi has always stuck with me. I was surprised to see you post a comment to the video; usually old videos like these are just stomping grounds for people like us. I guess I just want to say thank you: it’s game time!
Thank you very much for uploading one of my favorite song i do listen to this every week. i have also downloaded the video so i can listen to it if my connexion is off ^^
The opening animation of Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 0 was very well made. The animation (in some parts), artwork (some of it), and music are all very good. I particularly like the use of color and the wavy lines. The part with Kaiba and Yugi dueling when the chorus starts is a good example of this. The opening song is simple, catchy pop rock, but pleasant and not overwhelming. Even though I don't know Japanese very well, and I haven't listened to the song a lot, I've phonetically memorized the lyrics up to the chorus, although roughly. Even for someone like me, the song is easy to remember.
This was the first anime series that when I heard it was cancelled I cried like a lot, i wish that they had made more episodes and a proper farewell but many things in the life aren´t fair :(
Just started watching season 0 of Yu-Gi-Oh! and it was way different than Duel Monsters, way tence, not as much as the manga i hear, but i love it! More games in the series than just Duel Monsters, and Atem, OMG is hardcore! Love when they have some Egyptian aspect, which is why i started loving the original Yu-Gi-Oh! in the first place. Thank you Kazuki Takahashi for bringing Yu-Gi-Oh! to my life. To all our lives! Rest in peace 💛
Why the hell is no one talking about that absolute *GOD-TIER* Guitar Riff at 2:43 ??? I swear I keep repeating that part over and over again just to listen to it one more time.
Although I like other Yu-Gi-Oh ops so much, this is the only one I can say I LOVE. There's something in the simplicity of this song that makes it feel genuine and I love that.
