@@WaterKatara It's not Guardian. He says "Biggu Shirudo Gaadonaa" the Japanese name for this card. This card is Big Shield Gardna in English. So, basically the same. No idea where they got "Huge Shield".
What I believe happened to cause the bad translation is that the subs were originally in Chinese, and those were then translated into English (so a translation of a translation) along with a bit of machine translation
@@krfan5459 From what I know the three knights are the summoning cost for Slifer but this is going off the anime only don't know about the IRL card game so I don't know if Mega Ultra Chicken or Obelisk have their own specific summoning monsters...I know I went on a rant there sorry.
@@gallantmon4 All the god cards require 3 sacrifices, no specific monsters. The reason why Yugi uses the three knights is because it was the easiest way for him to get three monsters on the field. BTW, my previous comment was just a nod to YGOTAS, not meant to be taken seriously.
The guy I'm talking to about Yu-Gi-Oh!: It's just a children's card game! The guy I'm talking to about Yu-Gi-Oh! after I showed him this clip: Dude! The protag just destroyed that kid with a Royal Flush as if he was playing Poker.
Atem is the king of all games after all, no matter what game they are. I personally think the card knights are a tongue in cheek way to reflect Atem's love of games
You guys don't understand that Yugi's purpose from doing that is to destroy the castle by only having 1 card left in his deck so the mandatory cost of the castle which is sending half of the oponnent's deck to the GY to stay on the field cannot be paid, by the end phase of that turn he had only 1 card left till next turn and the castle got destroyed and its the only way since the castle cannot be destroyed by card effects, so it's a pretty boss move from Atem the GOAT
The remix of Passionate Duelist is just too awesome. Then comes Critias' theme, which was replaced by Blue-Eyes Shining Dragon's theme in the dub. Epicness.
Tbh this would be a really good card even now cause milling cards from your deck doesn’t matter and if that’s the only cost to destroy all your opponents cards then a Knight’s deck could actually beat the meta. They just need to make level 1-to-3 knights or splash other generic monsters of those levels in their decks for this to work
honestly it probably wouldn't be all that good. especially since you can turn 1 get 1 omni negate plus 2-3 other negates...big set up effects like this just get shut down to easily to be used.
@@cowkingkiller ahh well that is true but we have solemn and hand traps for the hand traps and some wierd stuff going on. I think bluffing and timing is very key with the mega because traps are sort of a thing again . However maybe it wouldn’t be all that good but it would be spicy for sure
Royal Straight Slasher should have been released in King's Court, but at least it arrived in Battles of Legend: Crystal's Revenge. It was given a better effect: it can bring back the three knights if it's destroyed by battle, also it allows you to send monsters from your hand as well in order to activate its effect.
Ah fuck I remember these subtitles. I endured this when I was in highschool when my brother gave me his flash drive full with YuGiOh episodes (Japanese Dub), DM to 5DS. I remember watching those Chinese subs with many grammatical and wrong translations and I endured it within 60 episodes of DM series until the Battle City arc.
He didn't say he will "cover" 2 cards. He said he's setting 2 facedown cards. The action of bringing a monster onto the field is summon, not invoke. For example, tokushu shoukan is special summon. Kuriboh is クリボー (Kuribou)'s English name. It's not "spirit". The "Giant Rock Soldier" is supposed to be "Giant Soldier of Stone". I have no idea how "Big Shield Gardna" became "Huge Shield" here. He literally says "Biggu shirudo gaadonaa" Curse of Dragon is another card that is basically said in English, even in the Japanese version of Yugioh. No idea where "Mess Dragon" came from. And of course, he says Royal Straight and it somehow became Full House. These are different things. Whoever made these subtitles struggles with Japanese and Yugioh vocabulary and card names.
They’re old hong Kong subs that are English translations from Chinese translated Japanese. It’s mangled because it’s been translated twice. Not to mention these were the earliest subs available like literally concurrent with the episodes releasing in the early 2000s
Imagine if these subtitles weren’t written by idiots Yugi literally went -3 just to bring out a 2400 ATK monster… and then sent 6 monsters from his deck to the graveyard (without any graveyard effects or recyclability) to use its effect. Wtf was the card economy back in the Duel Monsters anime lol. Plus that spell card was the most insanely specific BS ever, since he only has 1 copy of each of those face card knights in his deck. And having a specific level restriction on the monsters needed to be milled is just as bad.
Plus heavy storm duster lol… he wanted to get rid of the Golden castle of Stromberg or whatever too. But also, I’m pretty sure heavy storm duster was used by at least one person in the anime, so he could’ve just had that card in his deck too lol
because both players draw till they have six in their hand, also in a real duel how often does the opponent even have a hand trap during a turn like that?
@@Ahloveyafuhso Didn't realized leon had cards in his hand when yugi activated card of sanctity. Also the chance that your opponent has a hand trap like that in a real duel is quite high actually.
@@sanauj15 I mean to stop a summon of a monster with only 1900 atk and no effects what so ever? I really can't imagine someone negating that.. on purpose.
It's actually more or a Royal Flush actually, since he got the King, Queen and Jack already, all he need is the Ace and the Ten of the same suit and knowing Yami Yugi here we'll know he's fully capable of drawing them conviently at the same time.
